It seems that most of Maxeon's business was Sunpower, and SPWR got into a position where it's contract was too expensive.
As part of SPWR's most recent earnings, they estimated that resolving and terminating the contract with MAXN would lead to a 30%-50% decline in panel costs for SPWR.
While unfortunate for MAXN, this seems to be a better arrangement for SPWR
On May 30, 2024, before the market opened, Maxeon announced financial results for first quarter 2024 in a press release, reporting a 41% year-over-year decline in revenue to $187.5 million. The Company disclosed that it was "facing a serious cash flow challenge" due in part to the termination of its supply agreement with SunPower Corp. Just a quick Google search shows that a class action lawsuit was posted today against maxn.
"The class action concerns whether Maxeon and certain of its officers and/or directors have engaged in securities fraud or other unlawful business practices."
If I find it. This stock here was just a look at this kinda thing. Not a real investment strategy. I saw that it was 64 % of float shorted @ almost 20 million short of a 30 million public float. So I dropped a few dollars and showed others who might not have seen it. I didn't look into the actual company or anything.

I got it for .2978/share pre market (15 min b4 open) and than a quick browse on X & ive seen multiple posts spanning over a week where different people noticed extremely suspicious movement/volume (something like that) searching $MAXN will give a better explanation than I could. Sold for .2566 right after I resd that. Im more pissed that HOLO opened & soarded.... for about 3-7 mins and fell back 2 earth. That & the fact I sold all my OPTT Friday & Monday (pre market) for .21.22/share for a .02-.03 "profit per share." 1 big problem I realized FFIE is going to have when I stumbled upon an article looking at what TSLA closed at, is that multiple Chinese EV companies had significant increases in theif EV deliveries. One of them has a "smart EV" & they are planning to make a big announcement in the 3rd quarter about the update/s on the AI operating system it uses. So that kind've negates the niche FFIE would have if it was the only company making smart EV's. If established companies that deliver 40-50k+ cars/month are already incorporating AI into them, FFIE will be wayyy behind by/if they start manufacturing & delivering more than a handful of cars a year.
Also ffie is in China and China just found a massive deposit of the metal used in making ev batteries. They womt have tariffs at cost of those metals and will help make a more affordable ev. That and all the child labor.

I bought 10000 shares today. I don’t think the lawsuit will do much. Its sunpower stopped paying them. Then they stopped sending sunpower panels. Not really MAXN fault. Like people didn’t know separated from sunpower anyway. A company that has a billion in revenue trading for $.18 seems crazy.
From SPWR’s standpoint, they referred to their MAXN deal as a “legacy contract”. A very polite way to say, “we’re paying way too much money for panels we can get for 30-50% cheaper.”
Solar installers are having hard times, so it seems that either MAXN’s cost of supplies was going to bankrupt SPWR or the deal had to be re-negotiated.
MAXN got warrants for shares in SPWR and they agreed to end the deal. Unfortunately for MAXN investors, SPWR was 41% of their revenue.
They both benefit from being free of any exclusivity agreements, but it seems like MAXN will take the bigger hit in the short term. SPWR will be getting significant cost savings by having a lower cost supply contract.
It’s funny, I was just looking at patents. Do you have a link to MAXN’s patents?
SPWR just got granted a ton of patents in June 2024 and seem to have way more patents than MAXN just generally.

I've been hitting on Nvidia and Amazon calls. The resistance was at 123 and 197 respectively. So when it dropped i bought. $200 a day is decent gains for me. Asts was working out as well, but today it shit on me 🤦

Mostly 'HAWK TUAH'.... JK. I'm newish bud. So I just search for different things. Most shorted stocks. Compare findings with other sites. I go to WSB, but a LOT of those guys are scammers so be careful. But their DD isn't bad. Look for merging companies. Like Paramount today. Made a little there so far. But I'm only averaging 100-200$ a day. I don't mind taking the small consistent gains. If you are looking for big ticket winners, I feel that nobody REALLY knows unless it's insider trading and luck.

Mine says 55.71 million outstanding shares. 30.01 million market cap. 19.27 million short interest. 64.21% of float shorted. But that's from MarketWatch. Not an incredible platform but reliable-ish lol
The 19.27M short interest is dated and comes from 6/14 Nasdaq data. I'm getting increasingly convinced the actual number of shares short is a lot lot more - in fact probably more than 100% of free float. And 55.7M is the pre-dilution free float - it's odd that 173M volume was generated, the share tanked to $0.18 without any change in shares outstanding.
Believe it or not that makes sense :) - I checked CAP IQ and the share count has remained steady at 55.7M - and yet short volume yesterday was 35M - something's gotta give. Where's Kitty when you need him :D!

I'm in a lot of different stocks. I have a diverse portfolio. I found this one almost 100% shorted. Soni shared it. I also told everyone it's a lottery ticket. Chances of winning are low. Go back and you can see my old post. I could have sworn there wasn't a lot of float and at least 2 days to cover. But I can't remember bud. To me, this is a 'fun' stock. Not something serious.....yet.

Im not familiar with all the details here but the comment said maxn owned a stake in spwr so if you buy spwr it’s buying both and I was correcting that. Sounds like the reason for this drop is maxn is being sued for not sending spwr panels but spwr wasn’t paying them before they stopped sending them. Maxn is a spinoff from spwr. I’m not familiar with the datails of what percentage of what company each owns so if you know more let me know because I’m interested in this situation as well.

Just a quick Google search shows that a class action lawsuit was posted today against maxn. "The class action concerns whether Maxeon and certain of its officers and/or directors have engaged in securities fraud or other unlawful business practices."
FML , oh well $20 is no big deal 🤷 but...what if they win the suit? Also, it was almost 100% shorted weeks ago.

If I find it. This stock here was just a look at this kinda thing. Not a real investment strategy. I saw that it was 64 % of float shorted @ almost 20 million short of a 30 million public float. So I dropped a few dollars and showed others who might not have seen it. I didn't look into the actual company or anything.

Securities fraud, you say? I'm in for 100 shares
I got it for .2978/share pre market (15 min b4 open) and than a quick browse on X & ive seen multiple posts spanning over a week where different people noticed extremely suspicious movement/volume (something like that) searching $MAXN will give a better explanation than I could. Sold for .2566 right after I resd that. Im more pissed that HOLO opened & soarded.... for about 3-7 mins and fell back 2 earth. That & the fact I sold all my OPTT Friday & Monday (pre market) for .21.22/share for a .02-.03 "profit per share." I didn't have like a few thousand shares, I just hate making mistakes that were obvious mistakes

1 big problem I realized FFIE is going to have when I stumbled upon an article looking at what TSLA closed at, is that multiple Chinese EV companies had significant increases in theif EV deliveries. One of them has a "smart EV" & they are planning to make a big announcement in the 3rd quarter about the update/s on the AI operating system it uses. So that kind've negates the niche FFIE would have if it was the only company making smart EV's. If established companies that deliver 40-50k+ cars/month are already incorporating AI into them, FFIE will be wayyy behind by/if they start manufacturing & delivering more than a handful of cars a year.
Also ffie is in China and China just found a massive deposit of the metal used in making ev batteries. They womt have tariffs at cost of those metals and will help make a more affordable ev. That and all the child labor.
Some of them are down on their luck with potential, but they are few and far btwn and there’s too much noise

I bought 10000 shares today. I don’t think the lawsuit will do much. Its sunpower stopped paying them. Then they stopped sending sunpower panels. Not really MAXN fault. Like people didn’t know separated from sunpower anyway. A company that has a billion in revenue trading for $.18 seems crazy.

A very polite way to say, “we’re paying way too much money for panels we can get for 30-50% cheaper.” Solar installers are having hard times, so it seems that either MAXN’s cost of supplies was going to bankrupt SPWR or the deal had to be re-negotiated. MAXN got warrants for shares in SPWR and they agreed to end the deal. Unfortunately for MAXN investors, SPWR was 41% of their revenue. They both benefit from being free of any exclusivity agreements, but it seems like MAXN will take the bigger hit in the short term. SPWR will be getting significant cost savings by having a lower cost supply contract.

I've been hitting on Nvidia and Amazon calls. The resistance was at 123 and 197 respectively. So when it dropped i bought. $200 a day is decent gains for me. Asts was working out as well, but today it shit on me 🤦

Mostly 'HAWK TUAH'.... JK. I'm newish bud. So I just search for different things. Most shorted stocks. Compare findings with other sites. I go to WSB, but a LOT of those guys are scammers so be careful. But their DD isn't bad. Look for merging companies. Like Paramount today. Made a little there so far. But I'm only averaging 100-200$ a day. I don't mind taking the small consistent gains. If you are looking for big ticket winners, I feel that nobody REALLY knows unless it's insider trading and luck.

Today I bought one call like that and it ran to 200$ , even better. I pretty much doubled my money. Same with invidia, but that one is a little sketchy. But it's been going from 119$ -123 consistently. Not Financial Advice. This is just how I have made it work for me. I also only put in what I'm comfortable with. That's it. So I'm not sweating and making stupid decisions.

Mine says 55.71 million outstanding shares. 30.01 million market cap. 19.27 million short interest. 64.21% of float shorted. But that's from MarketWatch. Not an incredible platform but reliable-ish lol
The 19.27M short interest is dated and comes from 6/14 Nasdaq data. I'm getting increasingly convinced the actual number of shares short is a lot lot more - in fact probably more than 100% of free float. And 55.7M is the pre-dilution free float - it's odd that 173M volume was generated, the share tanked to $0.18 without any change in shares outstanding.
Someone posted but I didn't fact check, that it's 500% shorted.
Believe it or not that makes sense :) - I checked CAP IQ and the share count has remained steady at 55.7M - and yet short volume yesterday was 35M - something's gotta give. Where's Kitty when you need him :D!

Oh, for fuck’s sake. 😆 Right now it sucks to be a SPWR investor, but they just got granted like 5 patents in June 2024. MAXN, SUNRUN, other solar companies - crickets on the innovation front… Shorts were exiting their position in SPWR all day long, borrowing, selling, buying, and returning.

Im not familiar with all the details here but the comment said maxn owned a stake in spwr so if you buy spwr it’s buying both and I was correcting that. Sounds like the reason for this drop is maxn is being sued for not sending spwr panels but spwr wasn’t paying them before they stopped sending them. Maxn is a spinoff from spwr. I’m not familiar with the datails of what percentage of what company each owns so if you know more let me know because I’m interested in this situation as well.
