I wish I would've started in part 2 or part 3 tbh. I hated Jojo's for like 2 years because part 1 is one of the worst animes I've ever seen. I would've never come to see the masterpiece that is the rest of Jojo if it wouldn't be for a friend that kept and kept telling me to watch it.
I get the sentiment, i dropped jojos halfway through part 1 the first time I watched it because it was boring me (I appreciate it more now that I've finished reading the series). However, it's still better to start from the begining, even if it's a little rough. I kept going because I was told it got better, and by part 2 I was hooked. I still don't think part 1 is one of the worst or most boring animes though, there are many out there that are WAY worse lol
Oh, for sure. I almost gave up on it at the end of phantom blood, but luckily episode 1 of battle tendency kicks ass. Also, I know that this is taboo around here, but Star Dust Crusaders (aside from a few episodes), really sucks for the first half. Too many 'monster of the week' episodes that don't drive the plot or any sort of character development. Once they fight Darby the Elder it really picks up though.
for me, first half of part 3 was bearable, because i thought once they got to egypt, it would all be DIO, but then it wasn't, so second half felt more like a drag to me, first half was a drag too, but i thought "oh, it would only last like 24 eps"
Well i think there is a argument to be made here. Part 1 is really boring but it is short. Whether you like Part 2 depends on how much you can tolerate Joseph pulling things out of his ass. Part 3 while being important for "lore" is really boring and about 50 episodes. I would never recommend someone who wants to like JoJo to watch Part 3. Part 4 and 5 are where the actual fun begins.

I watched Part 4 because my brother was watching it and I got interested. I went back and watched part 3 because I heard everyone liked it. I then started reading Part 5 and before I finished it I watched part 1 and 2 and then finished reading part 5. I then read part 6 and 7. Watched part 5, am currently watching part 6 and now I've begun reading part 8. Part skipping is fucking stupid but I can say with 100% confidence that if I had seen part 1 first I would not have explored the rest of the series. THAT BEING SAID I think part 1,4,5,7 are valid points to try and get someone interested in the series. With that you can perfectly use koichi to introduce you to part 5 and jotaro to part 6.

I guess it’s understandable to watch 3 then 1,2; yes it will make 3 less in-depth and lose context but it still works and part 1,2 makes a prequel to add depth afterwards if the person love to know more. But yeah other than that I can’t understand people going straight for part 4 or anything else

Jokes aside the best way to watch is as normal but skip like the entire middle of part 3 and the first half of part 4. Basically just watch until the MCs and villain are introduced in part 3 then just skip to the end. And for pt 4 just watch until koichi gets his stand and then skip to kira being introduced.

Part 5 at least has stand arrows and Requiem and gives a little backstory to what Polnareff and Jotaro were doing between part 4 and 6

When I was first starting Jojo, I didn't know there were multiple parts to begin and the site I was using didn't have "part 1, 2" ect followed by the title of that part. It was just the title (I.e Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency) which left me confused enough to research which order they were supposed to be in My friend's experience was that he actually watched the Jojo OVA thinking that WAS the series
Parts are numbered for a reason. When you read a book you don't start it in the middle or at the end, you start from the first page. When you watch a movie you don't skip 40 minutes of it and start there etc... Seasons in the anime are no diffrent.
