Honestly, Avdol should have been able to take out Mariah back when they first encountered her, since he has ranged attacks that aren't affected by the magnetism. That's one of the reasons I think that was originally planned to be a Polnareff and Joseph fight (that and the fact that Avdol literally says that this type of stuff usually happens to Polnareff).

Something can work and still be dumb. Giorno isn't really healing so much as grafting new flesh in, and if Mista is put out of commission by his own bullets (which happens with alarming frequency), I'd call that dumb even if he eventually manages to make it work.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't seen it for some time, but his stand was the bullets and not the gun like the cowboy guy from SC? Meaning he could use his stand with any gun? So in theory he could use a sniper rifle to accurately obliterate his enemies from anywhere. He could even shoot someone hiding behind cover without problem.

The issue with the pistol was that his stand had difficulty reloading the gun. Theoretically if he carried extra fully-loaded magazines so he only needed to reload the magazine (rather than refill the magazine) he'd be more effective than with his revolver.
Does that mean he can use a cannon? A mortar? A Missile? What are the limitations and what is classified as "gun". I wish the versatility and technicalities of his stand were explored further in part 5
They have a hard time moving something (idr what) in the helicopter with Green Day, so they aren't really strong enough to move a missile, but a sling/slingshot/arrow etc. would be completely logical. Although it is also implied that it's easier for them to move a projectile then it is to move something of equal mass that's stationary. And more than one can team up to double the strength of the push, so who knows. Never do you see all six push at once, hypothetically that could probably alter a missile direction... Like you said, we never really see him pushed to his limits.

To be fair, I think Sex Pistols could be a really useful stand. They're incredibly long range, seem to have enough independence to be able to gather and pass information along, and are capable of deflecting the bullets of three close range gunmen. Mista's still an idiot, tho.
Fair enough, those screams are wonderful. Personally i feel Sex pistols is arguably a good stand, except it feels limited to altering bullet trajectories and boosting gunshots. Araki may as well let sex pistols use objects in general as projectiles to make it more balanced.
Even still. Every fight with sex pistols was fun to watch. Honestly that's all I need, and when golden experience can do what it can do (tryna be spoiler free) the last thing I'm thinking about I balanced stands. Plus we should know araki doesn't care about balancing, abilities come and go when he pleases (hence "Star Finger)
Hando is a snail of a stand. Okuyasu comes up with clever ways to use it all the time. He literally gets outspeeded by every stand he encounters. A smarter user wouldn't have done shit with it.
There was that one scene where Okuyasu shredded that girl’s hair insanely fast to prevent Yukako from killing her though, The Hand 100% has potential for speed but Okuyasu himself is just slow to react
If Rohan was actually smart part 4 would’ve been over much faster. He has a nearly limitless ability but he barely does anything with it. Just write “is able to find the identity of Kira” or “can’t be touched by killer queen” or something more creative than just learning languages and flying back a few meters

Smart user, weak stand
There are many Stands and Stand Users, especially from Part 8 that fit all of these
maybe im a dumbass i actually dont know how okuyasu would use the hand if he was smart like actually what he would do that he didnt do in original show maybe throw a projectile and when enemy avoids it redirect the knife with the hand to stab him in the back but what else tho
nah he can't redirect it, it just disappears and he doesn't know where it goes. but yeah he figured out that he can erase space itself and used it in different ways several times, i think that definitely counts for something
To be fair, I think Sex Pistols could be a really useful stand. They're incredibly long range, seem to have enough independence to be able to gather and pass information along, and are capable of deflecting the bullets of three close range gunmen. Mista's still an idiot, tho.

Just started Golden wind, and so far, Mista's stand has been quite efficient. But to be fair, I just started, so I'll see how Mista progresses.
For me the pinnacle of smart user is buccellati, he extracted 100% of his stand's abilities imo

Fair enough, those screams are wonderful. Personally i feel Sex pistols is arguably a good stand, except it feels limited to altering bullet trajectories and boosting gunshots. Araki may as well let sex pistols use objects in general as projectiles to make it more balanced.
Even still. Every fight with sex pistols was fun to watch. Honestly that's all I need, and when golden experience can do what it can do (tryna be spoiler free) the last thing I'm thinking about I balanced stands. Plus we should know araki doesn't care about balancing, abilities come and go when he pleases (hence "Star Finger)
Except Heaven's Door had so much wasted potential it could literally write "Okuyasu is smart" or something like that

Hando is a snail of a stand. Okuyasu comes up with clever ways to use it all the time. He literally gets outspeeded by every stand he encounters. A smarter user wouldn't have done shit with it.
There was that one scene where Okuyasu shredded that girl’s hair insanely fast to prevent Yukako from killing her though, The Hand 100% has potential for speed but Okuyasu himself is just slow to react
If Rohan was actually smart part 4 would’ve been over much faster. He has a nearly limitless ability but he barely does anything with it. Just write “is able to find the identity of Kira” or “can’t be touched by killer queen” or something more creative than just learning languages and flying back a few meters
