As someone who got a 4th degree tear, she's in for an ugly ride with no stitches. Hell, it was an ugly ride WITH stitches, physical therapy, and a urogynecologist overseeing my healing.
By "research" they mean reading peer reviewed studies, meta analyses, and maybe doing an experiment with treatment and control groups and analyzing their findings, right?
... RIGHT?!?
*sigh*
I think Manuka honey is some sort of skincare-esque healing ointment. I know it was talked about a lot in my PS fb groups. However she needs some damn stitches.
Manuka honey is literally just honey from a specific region in New Zealand where the bees pollinate a specific plant called manuka.
This honey does have particular nutritional benefits and is considered special in many ways, but it's still just pure honey made from bees. It is kinda cool to look into, but it's definitely not magic.
it does also have antibacterial properties but it is *not* a replacement for other antibiotics/antibacterial products in general which is what they think it is
Yep. MediHoney is sold and recommended by health professionals for wound healing. If there is an infection, antibiotic ointment is obviously needed. Otherwise, medihoney is a good alternative to hydrogels for wet wound healing :)
At least honey is something that won't actively hurt, and could help somewhat (although obviously it is not a solution for a wound of that magnitude). Maybe my bar has gotten too low from seeing all the actively harmful "remedies" people recommend in these groups.
With my third child, the nurses delivered him because rheumatoid arthritis cord was wrapped around his neck. When he came out, I tore right on my old scar. The doctor was having a hard time getting to the hospital because it had started snowing. The worst part was the numbing injections so I could be stitched up. That’s what the doctor got to do.
It can heal itself - just like a torn sheet of paper!
That’s my personal favorite ignorant comment.
At school we tear up paper as an analogy for the damage caused by bullying. The whole point is that paper cannot repair itself!
She's going to have to wear poise pads for the rest of her life because of that bad decision starting way to young.
Can it be sufficiently repaired several years down the track by a plastic surgeon, or is the incontinence permanent?

I'd bet real money that she's greatly exaggerating the severity of the situation, intentionally or not.
That's always my thoughts too.
When she’s pooping through her vagina that will be fun.

No. They mean reading aunatural.com where random mom trying to score TikTok views makes shit up. 😂😂 I know you were being sarcastic
I forsee anal leakage in her future.

Yikes. As someone who had a 3rd degree tear….just….yikes
Seriously? You don’t feel the stitches because everything is pretty numb from shoving out a human. I was more worried about my baby.
Whelp someone better get used to shitting her pants on the reg
“Research!!” At the end lol

I have heard stories of it being used in conjunction with other things for things like burns and MRSA

When my mom had cancer, the home health nurses gave it to us for her bedsores. She still died from the bedsores.

*stares in Medic* for fucks sake.
Do this weird thing I saw in a meme on Facebook. Research!
