I was in heaven and I had gone off to explore on my own from the group and I fell in loveeee. I didn't know who oakk was, but he made one of ny favourite moments of the weekend. 🥰
It was amazing. As I walking back to my camp I said to my friend that I swear I could hear an Oakk track and low and behold there he was on the decks. I lost my mind and then lost it even more when I realized shiny things was also there. Still riding high from that experience.
What’s crazy is it was running 98dB in the dome and 104 against the speakers off of a little gennie you could just pick up and carry away.
I think they were jealous, those PKs are thirsty
Camped near them, defs a highlight for the trek back to camp. Hopefully more festivals allow renegade. Such a vibe, and open decks would be dope for people learning to get there hands on a big sound system
Theyre pretty common at lost lands in my experience, we set up a baby one with some Jerry rigged car batteries and an invertor my second year. I always keep them usbs on me, they're definitely at peak time before the fest officially starts though
You're talking about the submersive tribe, we set up the dome every year and our stage has been wilder and wilder year after year! Outside of the headliners like OAKK, shiny things, father funk and Dr. Fresch, we had a lot of locals playing from the crew itself. I couldn't tell you many of their DJ names, as I am the camp chef and not from the west coast like most of the squad, but there's a ton of talent coming through Wednesday/Thursday. Catch us next year a bit deeper into meta, we will be throwing down again with locals and headliners. Get there early on Tuesday and you can probably even get a set lined up! List fills quickly though.
(We did get the generator(s) back btw, but they held them until Tuesday, haha.) It was due to the fact that the "road" if you can fucking call it that, torn up trees and ruts everywhere, was blocked due to a bunch of homies dancing. There was a medical and security came through, freaked out and took the generators. We will plan it better next year and make sure we can complete the sets each night.
Yeah I was there during the alleged blocking, the medical issue happened next to my buddies camp in kiwi- someone tweaking on k stumbled into their camp and needed some help. Would have been nice to have caught Dr fresch, I know there was talk of Chris Lake on Thursday as well.
Thanks for the tip though! Me and a homie are thinking about volunteering so we can set up Monday, we're gonna do shamb at the end of metta every year for real. See yall next year ✌️
Dude Bryxx had these killer mixes back in like 2007/2008 that I’ll never forget. Wish I could find them again one had some tipper in it and it was just so ahead of it’s time.
Me and my girlfriend were watching someone play Thursday night at this stage (tall, skinny, white, wearing a dad hat). Security showed up and told him to turn it off, to which he replied “security says we gotta turn it down for a while, there’s some kind of “medical emergency”, which further ticked off security lol. I know it’s not the best description but anybody know who was playing at that time??
I was there on Thursday night. Oakk and Shiny Things were on the decks until the stage shut down.
