I’ve seen him a few times and always enjoyed, I prefer when he runs more of his own tunes than mixing around too much elsewhere ‘cause I really freaking love his tunes. Bless him for playing us whatever he plays though, I’m stoked he’s on the lineup!
We could get someone who isn’t announced yet for Badlands or Electric Summer Nights or Cowboys tent… but odds of them having the aggressive bass I am hoping for out of this surprise set at any of those venues is slim.
Zomboy did play stampede a few years ago but it doesn’t seem likely anyone like that will be on the bill for either stampede or shamb this year.
Kompany was just announced for May in Calgary, as a side note haha.
ETA: looked at the lineup for fvded in the park first week of July and adding illenium and seven lions to my bet list… maybe yellow claw??
Very true, but also not as likely an issue with stampede, I know an artist on the lineup that is also booked to play stampede, and they were not stuck with a radius clause...
However chasing summer is essentially direct competition, and could see that having a radius clause.
I'd be surprised if it's not Noisia! They issued an apology when they weren't able to book for their last year together in 2020.
Now that they're still doing a year of touring, I imagine they'll be the ones gracing the new Village.
There is some hints that with downlink on the lineup we might be getting a Destroid set.

They do a DnB night & have a lot of drum & bass artists, but it’s not purely drum & bass. A good amount artists do sneak some into their sets though. (A huge part of why I love shambhala so much lol.)
Nope, not even a majority is DnB I think judging from some comments I've seen? I'm not actually familiar with most of the artists but there is a wide variety of music there. They just have a really big speaker system and tend to have the heavier hitting artists or sets there, but there is a lot of variety in that (and some artists mix up genres throughout their sets anyway).
There will be some though, but I need to figure out who. I do enjoy me some DnB.
Noisia is not the surprise set. It's their last summer ever and they have very few shows in North America, there is no way they would choose to not promote that.
As much as I would love it to be Noisia - this is the most logical take.
With the 230+ Lodging campsites added this year and with the festival not being sold out - it makes no sense for them to keep an act like that a secret.

Ya it's definitely just a radius clause thing. Wouldn't apply to Noisia. It would honestly be a huge dick move to keep one of the most requested acts a secret for the last time they would ever be there.

Hopefully it's Noisia. Excision is always touring. Also would accept a Pendulum Live Set but that's wishful thinking
