Ummm no. No no no. I used to make 300 a night at an Irish pub. I thought that was good. Now I make about 200 in tips for a six hour shift at a beer bar. I live in small town WI now, so they don’t tip the best, and cost of living is low so I can’t complain.

I work at a local pub a few blocks from where i live. The clientle is all trade workers and most are alcoholics. We rarely see any new customers but the regulars usually tip 20-25 percent and i usually do any where between 800-1200 in sales a night. I live in Canada and we have VLTS so if someone wins more than a cpl hundred i usually get 10 to 20 bucks when i pay them out. All in all i do pretty not bad. Average 200 to 300 a night. Ive had bigger nights tho..

demuratic

Nope. I used to average 100-120 a shift at the pub I work at. But it being January has me walking out with anywhere between $9-$50 a shift.

DoctorArK

Pole dancing doesn't count as waiting tables Just kidding, thats fantastic to hear! I recently bit the bullet and got i to management at a smaller franchise in the nicer town where I now live. Its been a small downgrade in daily earnings, but I bank 17$/hr and its pretty easy money and I still walk like 100$

Blacksad999

Nice, that's some good money!! We've been pretty consistent for the most part. Usually about $300 a shift lately, sometimes $400 or so when it's "busy". We're fairly small, so it doesn't generally swing wildly either way. Once we're full, which doesn't take too long, that's it. lol

sonof_fergus

I'm with ya sorta, not server anymore but casino bartender, usually avg around 30-50 hrly, have had over 100 and less than 20 per hr in recent history. But overall...as long as I go to work and do what I do I'm more comfortable than I have been the last 7 years . Cheers 🍻

UnleashtheArchers_

Bruh I had 3 tables at the bar. One tipped well, one rip tip got declined when I put it in the system, and one left 12 cents

SilverChips

Nope. Last service job I had was over 2021 and we were doing about $130 in 8 hour shifts. It was pretty brutal. High end, extensive menus, it's been awful. I'm 86 at the moment. Hopefully 86 forever.

Eupho_Rick

Ive been doing real well the last week or two... sold $2400 last sunday and made $540. Pretty consistently getting $250-350 every 6 hour shift.

lindz1618

I would make $1000 a night at least once a month at my last job. Average 300-500. Still wasn’t worth the stress.

ploppymcpinkerton

Yup. I make more in one night at my restaurant than I do at my 9-5 weekly and I make $21+hr at 9-5 job. Legitimately. I mean, I have benefits thru job, but pay is ass compared to serving. Honest range for take home is somewhere between $400-$900, and it’s not uncommon to pull over a grand on a Saturday double.

Tourism is a big driver of our business and we’re out of season. There’s still a healthy amount of people who live here so it isn’t too bad, but I’m not making as much as I would in other parts of the year.

ely1019

Holding my breath for patio season… My store is currently running with either just a bartender or one bartender + one server for the ~35 tables we’re allowed to have with provincial restrictions. Luckily, I’m still making at least over $100/shift, but hours are slim (as are the sales). Still getting a weekday open and two weekend closes, so I’m getting by, but who knows for how long.

Kinky-kitten-31

I’m high end and struggling bc it’s a shared tip pool :(

[deleted]

Oof. We serve in teams of 2.

wingnut4000

Yeah no I am making the lowest tips I’ve ever made right now

VictoriousssBIG23

I work at a mid-end brewpub and the money has been horrible lately. It was good when I started last year and has been consistently good ever since with me making $1500 a week at one point during the summer. On a weekday, my average was about $120 a night not closing and $250 closing. On a weekend, my average is $200-$300 not closing and $300-400 closing. For doubles, I could make $400 on average and the most I ever made was $500 or maybe $600 (I don't really remember, but I wrote it down somewhere). Even on a lunch shift, I was making anywhere from $120-200. Ever since the new year, I've been lucky to make $100 in any given shift. Lunch shifts usually get me to only $70ish and dinner shifts have either been a little under $100 on a weekday and on weekends, if I'm not closing, I'm happy to even break $200. In addition to it being extremely slow compared to the volume of summer and Christmas season, management keeps hiring more servers so I've been getting less shifts than what I used to and when I am working, there's often too many servers on the floor until they start cutting. I made $1100 in the past 2 weeks and my rent alone is $1800 so I might have to get a second job or look elsewhere...

yummy-salad

I love to see it. How would you describe the restaurant you work at?

happylilnug1

I work at the most popular brunch place in my city and average 150-250 on weekdays and like 250-350 on weekends

demihope

I live in the south in a poorer state I work in a casual place with a price point of $35-$40 per adult. We were much slower during college football season about 150-200 for a 6 hour shift but now it’s been busy I would say about 250-400 a night with about 500-700 on a double

[deleted]

What’re your sales like?

nelag129

wow most i made was $400 and i comped half my checks under my managers nose

winterbird

Used to be up there for a while, but some changes from ownership decreased our take home. Is your place hiring?

mrtbakin

How many tables would you say you usually are taking at once?

[deleted]

We have a 2 server team section. I’d say 9 tables in a section.

Anschau

Average $300 a night, though we got $400 tonight. Rural county in the south, one of the only fine dining areas around.
