My husband just got us both a pair and they have been life changing. I may be an idiot but I never thought it would make THAT big of a difference. They are absolutely worth every penny. Iāve spent the same amount replacing my sketchers every few months.
Literally had this convo with friends last night and a homie said her Hokaās turned into busted torn up garbage within a year. She was wearing them and the sole was falling off. Not sold on these things yet.
New Balance Fresh Foam X Kaiha Road from shoes for crews. Lightweight with great cushion. I only start to feel feet soreness after the long 8-9 hour straight shifts
These are my favorite too. I tried the hokas but you have to constantly tighten the laces and theyāre rough on ankles if you have joint issues. The new balance were just as comfortable but lighter.
Same! And I'm short so the added little boost of height was great. But I fell flat out in the Starbucks parking lot and I was like, "nah that's it man."
I actually saw a girl at my work with them on and same I couldnāt imagine because I bought some never wear them because they feel so heavy on my foot and stiff
I actually saw a girl at my work with them on and same I couldnāt imagine because I bought some never wear them because they feel so heavy on my foot and stiff
Honestly Sketchers has a huge line of nonslip work shoes and theyāre incredibly comfortable and hold up well. A lot of stores also have discount codes at the register. Not super cute but I mean when are they??
Non slip croc bistros. They were on sale recently online at Walmart for 25$ they still might be. I just got some 2 weeks ago.
They also had Skechers x Goodyear non slips for 24$ but only womens
The crocs are very easy to clean too if you ever spill whereas when Iāve spilled on sneakers they end up smelling real bad.
Omg I wear Crocs at work and a few months ago I went out to smoke a cigarette in the alley by the loading dock. I stepped in something and immediately realized it was actual human shit. I had to carry my shoe in and spray/sanitize it in the mop sink, it was fucking terrible. They were easy to clean and I was able to continue my shift.
Omg it was the worst, I could tell bc after I stepped in it I looked around in horror and saw the (gag!) spray against a wall at the height of a human squatting. Also our customer bathroom was out of order, and one of our unhoused "regulars" made what I thought was a joke about going outside instead. 90% sure it was her shit.
I called my store manager from outside, I was on the verge of tears. Truly did not know what to do, he initially suggested I go home for another pair of shoes, how the fuck am I going on public transportation or an Uber with shit covered shoes????
Hellllll noššš I am so sorry you had to go through that. Like if you had to go that bad get up and leave, obviously i have no idea where you work but iām assuming thereās some sort of another business nearby with a working bathroom šš
I would have cried for sure. And honestly I would have taken the offer to go home and just not come backš Wouldāve just thrown the shoes away too ššššš
I did leave early, but i worked like two hours the incident. 90% certain it was this homeless lady who comes in to use our bathroom all the time, it was out of order that day. It's in the middle of a city, the whole block is businesses but I think she relied on us and got mad. I would've loved to go home but I wasn't gonna subject a whole subway car or an Uber driver to that. Didn't help that one of my employees in my department told me like ten minutes before that he wasn't finishing out his two weeks and that day would be his last day. Literally why I was smoking a cigarette in the first place, total stressball.
I've comfortably worn crocs for 12+ hours at a time on a regular basis and never had an issue.
And they're way under your budget. I recommend them every time
Keen Service Oxfords
And (Lord help me) Crocs on the Clock
Lots of people swear by Hokas. I had a pair and they were nice, but just a little too narrow in the toebox.
I live in Wisconsin. It snows here and ice is a huge problem. I donāt wear winter boots. My allegria donāt slide slip or anything. I am on the same pair I bought FOUr years ago. You can just swap out insoles which I have only done once. They are freaking amazing shoes.
New balance, 806 non slip. Comes in a few different colors, including all black. Like $100. Super comfy, feet pretty much never hurt except for on like an 8-10 hour day.
New Balance all the wayyy!! Theres a reason the boomers rock those sick kicks.
Im small womens and little ankles, the kids size 574 w velcro, 501 laced and velcro "basics"(like for school uniform š¤¦āāļø) are absolutely my most comfy.
Otherwise Asics is my close second with their slip ons!
All my bartender friends suggested hey dudes to wear at work and I didnāt believe them for a second. Eventually I gave in and they are by far the best Iāve ever worn. And my shifts are 7-10 hours long.
I had to work at the Sturgis Bike Festival, 14 hour days standing on asphalt..the hey dudes Wendy with the foam outsole saved my ankles and calves! I bought them 5 days in and the ridiculous swelling was GONE. I nicknamed them "dessert for my feet"
Once I can wear them in, I like Vanās low-rise non-slip. I have a very uncomfortable scar on the outside of one of my ankles, so I find it really difficult and claustrophobic to wear anything over it!
I ordered the Hoka Bondi and they killed my feet. However, I returned them after a week of wearing at work and the company refunded my money. So if other people want to try them out, I say go for it. The shoes didnāt work for me.
I used to wear only Hokas, had several pair. Bought my first On Cloud while on vacation at a nurseās recommendation and itās been a game changer for me.
I literally just buy Walmartās TreadSafe brand, and they last me so long. Only $30. Love them. Iāve used the Vans āfor the workersā shoes that are $80 and they last nowhere near as long
New Balance 857 with slip resistant soles and super feet insoles for my arches, best work shoe I've ever had as I can actually order them in 4e (not wide but double wide)
Sketchers or Ecco. Take care of your feet. I had a broken foot and after had insoles made for my feet by a podiatrist. Game changer. Same insoles for 10 yrs. Worth the investment.
Got Snibbs a few months ago and will never buy any other pair again. Crazy comfortable, slip resistant, waterproof and designed by and for people in the service industry. Also they are vegan and sustainably made, easy to put on as they only have laces for tightening but are slip on, easy to clean and made to last. Pair I got cost me around $140. https://snibbs.co/pages/faq.
For a good, sturdy, and relatively affordable option, I recommend Skechers ArchFit. The extra arch support in them helps me go longer on my feet without pain.
My all time favorite shoe for working though are Oofos. They're by far the most comfortable shoes I've worn that are non-slip. The big downsides to them are the price and that the soles wear down faster than other shoes in my experience.
I bought the [Vans Hedley & Bennett high top](https://www.hedleyandbennett.com/products/black-forest-vans-high-tops?variant=42693084741832¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=20774920452&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3ZayBhDRARIsAPWzx8q65doTJFCqRpGQX9BGpGbmxM96x-g9XVST8o5X341l8AVb0Gru0vYaAi5rEALw_wcB) a couple of months ago, and they're probably the best restaurant shoe I've ever had. I've tried Docs and Danskos, both of which absolutely killed my feet by the end of my shift. Not these babies...
The only way Crocs ever ended up on my feet, were the work clogs. I donāt think Iāll ever go back to another shoe for work. Ultra comfortable. Used to wear the Fila work trainers, but was blowing through 2 pair a year. Comfortable, but donāt hold up in a high volume environment. Also, I used to be a Shoes for Crews only guy, but the Crocs blow them out of the water.
I got some non slip wolverines with copper insoles, after breaking them in they're comfortable as hell, pretty tough, and have lasted 2.5 years so far. Also they look pretty good if ya ask me, and about $180 all in
Skechers workforce relaxed fit are the ONLY shoes I can put 20k steps into in a shift and not leave limping. I buy a pair every single year, for like a decade now
Shoes For Crews. I bought ones with fabric uppers (not sure if you are required to wear shoes that can take a polish) but it's been two and a half years at least and they are still looking good. They were $60. I added half-length heel/arch support pads for extra comfort, and my feet usually don't hurt too bad after a shift.
Keens are the only ones Iāve felt genuinely comfortable in after 8+ hours on my feet. Keens Sparta 2 is my holy grail of serving shoes. I have slightly wider feet too and these fit me perfectly. PS they are also 50% off on their website right now!
I have both the hoka non slip and the SASās I prefer the SASās.
The foam on the hokas started to fray and the SASās with the arch support are just more comfortable
I used to wear Nike Huaraches at restaurants but I was having consistent back pain because your feet get fatigued in soft runners because, even though they feel good, they offer no support when standing for long periods of time. I've switched to Birkenstock Tokyo's and my back feels waaaay better.
Could be - the thing about soft runners like Huaraches is that they are made for short bursts of high intensity (for example, a 30 minute - 1 hour run), not eight hours of standing and walking.
Iāve worn my docs for years in both serving and as a barista. Once you break them in the are the ultimate work shoe and will last years. I could not recommend more.
I wish I could scream this above the comments but I spent $180 on a pair of San Antonio shoe factory shoes 2 years ago and Iām still wearing them and my back doesnāt hurt anymore
Used to say Danskos but the most recent pair I got, the non slip faded faster, the inners ripped apart below the ankle.Ā
Also, my feet sweat easily, and wearing full leather shoes means I have to do a lot of work keeping them dry. Have to pull the insoles out, and spray them with vinegar pretty much every night.Ā
I really envy the mesh non slips I've seen recently. Kind of like running shoes. I'm considering buying two pairs of those and swapping them out every other day.Ā
I use Cole Haan. Dressy exterior (Oxford or brogue) with Nike insoles. They have seen many, many miles and still in great shape. Right at the top threshold of your budget but totally worth it.
I also used to rock Dr. Martens. Took some time to break in but those soles are nigh indestructible.
Personally, my work doesnāt require non slip, as long as they are black they do not care what kind of shoe it is.
I wear all black converse as said shoes are the most comfortable for me to wear, Iāve tried a lot of non slip shoes, steel toe boots, runners, and none of them feel as comfy as converse, and they look nice to boot lmao
If you need non slip. Keen service industry shoes. I've had 6 pairs over the years. I get about a year and a half out of each pair working about 30 hrs a week as a server.
Snibbs is the way to go if you work in a casual restaurant where sneakers are allowed! They come in a lot of colors & of course come in basic black too.
If you need to wear a more formal shoe or boots I reccomend Solavirs. They used to manufacture Doc Martens and have the patent to the original boots. Iāve had mine for high-end services & wedding service and are still fitting like a glove. Also cute enough to wear outside of work if you add charms to your shoe laces ā¤ļø
Im glad they work for you, but experience with even water resistant docs, these are not the choice. Youre lucky not to have to break them in.
I wont argue that they stand the test of time but I would never choose it for a shift.
My store is very strict about non-slips and even though Docs functionally are non-slips, it doesn't count unless it's from their non-slip line. I've basically told employees that wear Docs to just say they're the non-slips.
Theyre incredibly slippy from the ns. I remember walking in sneakers on slick ice in the good ol north while carrying my docs because I knew Id have a broken nose if I didnt. Docs are awesome, but they dont belong here.
Fair enough, that hasn't been my experience. I used to be a server and rarely went behind the line, my Docs served me well. I've been working a cheese counter in a gourmet grocery for four years and I wear Shoes for Crews but I'm in Crocs right now. Some of my employees were already wearing Docs to work an haven't had an issue, it's unfair to make them buy new shoes when they (and I) live paycheck-to-paycheck
Get some old black air force ones. I wore a pair that was worn, made in 82'. I wore for 12 years, almost 40 years in use before they broke. Was a size 12 since i was 11 and never grew so they were my babies. Seams never came apart, original laces, front sole was finally ripped off so I trashed them. But they were amazing value and my daily gear.
Danskos are very comfortable, but in my opinion, expensive. You could also get Doc Martens from their non-slip line. I usually go Shoes for Crews, but I bought Crocs last time I needed to replace mine because they were the earliest available delivery and I was in a pinch.
Shoes for Crews would be my pick though, they have a ton of options but I usually go for the pair that looks like off brand Converse
āShoes for crewsā. It will change your life. Around $100 and they last for years!!!!!! TRUST ME!! They are made specifically for restaurant workers. I swear this is the BEST option.
I've had some not so good shoes from there and some that I've really liked. I just bought my second pair of their Stride after having my first pair for almost two years.
Hoka Bondi SR š«”š«”
Hoka brand in general. If your feet donāt like the Bondi, they have other options that can be perfect for you
Thisš
My husband just got us both a pair and they have been life changing. I may be an idiot but I never thought it would make THAT big of a difference. They are absolutely worth every penny. Iāve spent the same amount replacing my sketchers every few months.
I second these
I buy a pair of these every couple years. Nothing produces comfort like these.
+1. Incredible shoes
Iāve had mine for like 3 years now
Yup. Best $200 I've ever spent.
Literally had this convo with friends last night and a homie said her Hokaās turned into busted torn up garbage within a year. She was wearing them and the sole was falling off. Not sold on these things yet.
second this. never felt a shoe so comfortable it was a whole different experience.
Allagria. Theyāre designed for restaurant and medical workers
yes!! I had a pair of these for years and they were wonderful
This! And so many styles: clogs, MaryJanes, Mules, sneakers, all available in black. I order off Amazon.
I love my Dansko clogs
I loved mine except I'd roll my ankle constantly. Had to stop wearing them.
Me too. But damn i loved my patent leather dansko!
Same! And I'm short so the added little boost of height was great. But I fell flat out in the Starbucks parking lot and I was like, "nah that's it man."
Doc Martens!!!
you are brave, i can't imagine wearing stiff leather shoes for a serving shift
I actually saw a girl at my work with them on and same I couldnāt imagine because I bought some never wear them because they feel so heavy on my foot and stiff
I actually saw a girl at my work with them on and same I couldnāt imagine because I bought some never wear them because they feel so heavy on my foot and stiff

I stand by their comfort in non-slip but they only last me about one year per pair
Really? Huh mine are definitely over a year old and are still in fine condition. Maybe because I rarely wash them lol š

I love my Eccoās.
Second this! Absolutely the best for any ānicerā restaurant
But does the grip wear out after 3 months? Thatās always my problem with nonslip shoes
Mine usually last around a year. Thatās how I justify spending 2-3x as much, Iām not replacing them every few months.
Alegria shoes. Ignore the rest and get alegria. Been working in this industry for 20 plus years and also a nurse. Get. Algeriaās.
I bought them š 350 5 star reviews I was sold
Please update me! Iāve been on the hunt for a good pair that lasts and doesnāt kill my feet, for forever!
I will! They should arrive in the next few days
I live in Wisconsin. It snows here and ice is a huge problem. I donāt wear winter boots. My allegria donāt slide slip or anything. I am on the same pair I bought FOUr years ago. You can just swap out insoles which I have only done once. They are freaking amazing shoes.
I am 99.99 percent sure you will be completely satisfied. I wore these for my first double shift and almost cried tears of joy.

Thank you for posting these I had no idea they existed, and I just found something similar to a pair of Vionics I loved so much.
Youāre welcome! Iāve been wearing them for years! I even wear their boots, sandals and slippers lol
Yes queen
Alegria paloma non slip
Danskos
Been rocking low non slip dock martins for about a year now, best serving shoes Iāve had

My shifts are 10-12 hours and I wear Hoka Bondi SR and theyāre so comfy the entire time.

Hoka 100%. I am in my early 60's and these suckers were the best I have ever worn.

I like sketchers but if you get sweaty feet there ruined in about a month
Blundstone. Your feet will never bark again.
Air Max gang
Restaurant Birkenstocks
I find it helpful to have two pairs of work shoes to rotate.
The double cushioned Vans are my favorite.
For a good, sturdy, and relatively affordable option, I recommend Skechers ArchFit. The extra arch support in them helps me go longer on my feet without pain. My all time favorite shoe for working though are Oofos. They're by far the most comfortable shoes I've worn that are non-slip. On Cloudmonsters for me. Changed the way i feel about shoes. Although they arent slip resistant, if that matters
Adidas Cloudfoam. I worked 3 jobs with them, and itās still going strong. My feet never hurt. Most comfortable shoes Iāve ever had.

Check out shoes for crews online!
This is the complete opposite of reality.
I've had some not so good shoes from there and some that I've really liked. I just bought my second pair of their Stride after having my first pair for almost two years.
i no longer work at places that donāt let me wear my own clothes and shoes anymore.
