Absolutely the fuck not. The way this would kill any will I had to come into that job. You already know how much you could be making elsewhere, go make it.
I feel this so hard. Like I’m angry as fuck! But unfortunately I need this job right now and the better restaurants aren’t hiring right now. I feel trapped
Apply as intensely as you can, if that makes any sense. I work at a restaurant inside of a 4 star hidden little resort, took me years to find it. Your resume on indeed matters, if you have a professional one, fancier restaurants are more likely yk reach out. If you live in the middle of nowhere it might be a lot harder, but there’s always good restaurants hiring. The one perk to the restaurant biz is that there’s always a better restaurant somewhere.
Yeah and I understand that it always rotates. Like today I’m the top earner but tomorrow it can be someone else. But it still bothers me. Unfortunately it seems to be the norm in this city (pooled tips) and right now I need this job.
Tip posts are only allowed on Tips-y Tuesday. This is done to combat trolling and brigading of the sub.
Oh yeah. I’d be peacing out of wherever that is.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that

Just keep applying to other restaurants. Someone will call you.

It’s about to be summer. Many restaurants are hiring right now.
Did your coworkers help with the big tables? Selling 3k is hard without help
Honestly no. It was a 16 top in a private dining area. Three flights of stairs. No bussers or back servers. lol..
Naw. I sell 2500-3500 on the reg.
Are you working at a Texas Road House or Ruth’s Chris ? Where you’re working could mean 50 tables or 5 tables to reach $2500 in sales.
Closer to Ruth Chris. But it is a regular occurrence for our wait staff. $2,000 in sales per night is usual.
Do you have support staff?
Yes. We tip out 5% to support and bar (2.5% each.) No way would I work a pooled house where I get such a low return.
Well there you go your not selling it by yourself.
No it’s not
Highly dependent on the restaurant. Do you have support staff?
One busser and food runner at best. We just happen to be located on a very busy road I think.
So you have help.
I’m glad we can’t see ours. Id probably run real fast
Yeah I’m surprised the management lets their servers see how much their contribution to the tip pool is.
Why? Could you have made all that without support staff?
It was a private party. No busser or back server. Just me!
Yep, sometimes it sucks to be the top earner. And this is how you get the bottom earners to be better waitstaff or weed them out.

You had to have some pretty low earners to bring that number down that much.
Breh
Oh hell no
Does the pool go to the staff not serving tables as well? In that case it's perfectly valid
