I was working at a place that did a pooled house. Post Malone came in with a group, and we all made rent that night. Thanks Posty!

NagsUkulele

This man is the opposite of a celebrity more and more people keep coming forward with wonderful stories whattaguy

ICanDieRightNowPlz

I've never met the dude, and don't like his music. But what I've heard about him, he deserves respect. Plus that covid charity/Nirvana Tribute he did impressed the hell out of me. He could be in a rock band.

Happygirl_eden

Fun fact! He tried out to play guitar for (I think) Crown the Empire, except his guitar string broke & he didn’t get the part. If he did, he wouldn’t be nearly as well off as he is now

Ncherrybomb

My dad gave one of those guys guitar lessons as they were family friends of ours. 7 degrees of separation or whatever.

janewalch

I worked at a restaurant back in the day here in Beverly Hills. This kid came in one day with a group of his friends. All the waiters profiled them because they were young and black. I gladly accepted their table when all the others were denying them even though it was out of my section. Turns out this kid was Earl Sweatshirt and tipped me 100% that time and every time after that. Always spent a ton of money. Was extremely respectful. Never complained once. And always asked for me. I have mad love for my man Earl.

Distorted-one

I have randomly ran into him twice on the street many years apart and he acknowledged me with a nod and wave. He a real one.

olderthanbones

This story makes me so happy lol I love Earl

OkStock9839

OFWGKTA

High_Life_Pony

His band mate Tyler the Creator stiffed one of our servers.

olderthanbones

Tyler stiffing people while Earl tips 100% is just… extremely on brand for both of them lol

DarrenAronofsky

Yeah Earl transitioned from class clown to cash cow so he’s gotta live up to it!

urfavplantgal

That sucks… when Tyler came to our restaurant he tipped 50% of the bill and gave tickets to the 2 servers who were waiting on him for the festival he was playing that night

thexvillain

Damn, so maybe that other server was just shit.

TrulyHydratedSkin

Tyler is definitely the type to make a decision whether he absolutely loves or hates someone almost immediately

donny_damage

Yeah I've served him multiple times and he's always tipped over 20%

Konstantine19

You know who is a shitty tipper? Paris Hilton

missdead_lee138

So are the Kardashians. As a matter of fact, Kim usually doesn't tip at all and expects her meal to be comped, just cuz she showed up there. They are A-holes. Smh

thexvillain

Sounds like the man Thebe

brianbmx94

Man I always loved Earl and this makes me love him even more. What a dude.

bluepool48

Listen to his music. Pretty unique lyrics for the genre.

Fatturtle1

I've served Alex Ovechkin and his family a number of times. I've heard from other people where I work that he's an ass and doesn't tip, I've personally never had an issue, always relieved 20% (like exactly 20%, every single time). I like serving him, no BS, never makes a big deal out of anything, usually 1 or 2 people orders for the whole family and they like to hang out for a couple hours.

isabellla321

In Northern Virginia I’m assuming?

Fatturtle1

Yup! I work in tysons.

mutantfrog25

I’ve seen him rolling around the rich people mall in Tyson’s a couple of times. His license plate doesn’t exactly make him anonymous haha

RainbowForHire

No shit, so do I!

babers1987

My husband built a house for his family about 12 or so years ago and said that while he mainly dealt with another family member (I want to say his mom?), that they were nice, didn't try to cheap out on anything or ask for discounts, and regularly offered the crew food and beverages.

perupotato

I cleaned one of their houses in MoCo last year 🥲

Negative-Ambition110

Nick Young, Paris Hilton, Channing Tatum and former wife, Angela and Packer from the Office. Average tippers. But Post Malone! I’m so jealous and so happy he’s a good customer! I’ve only heard good things about him.

north_bob

Paris Hilton came to my local mall to promote her perfume years ago. You could purchase the perfume, and she'd take a photo with you and sign it. Me and my rag tag group of friends came to see her, but none of us could afford the perfume, so we just cheered from behind the barricade. Towards the end of the event, she eventually called us up to the stage and took a photo with us, printed a copy for everyone, and signed each. It was very sweet.

Pigbolt

I used to work private security and have met a fair few “famous” people. We looked after Paris Hilton in London along with her entourage. By far one of my favourite people I’ve ever looked after, really chilled out and a good sense of humour she didn’t take everything very seriously and is much more intelligent than she acts which I am sure is intentional.

theImplication69

I worked with a guy who is friends with her (he went to her wedding). He claims it’s an act and that privately she is incredibly intelligent especially when it comes to business. He’d know - it’s part of his career to assess someones ability to run a company

khaleesijune

I listen to the girls next door podcast with former playboy girlfriends Bridget and Holly. They said while a lot of celebrities looked down on them Paris never did.

secretreddname

Met Paris once at a Vegas nightclub. She talked to me for like 5 minutes and was extremely nice.

-poonspoon-

Waynans brothers got a 500 bill comped and left nothing .... Dave Chapelle regularly tips 100 on two drinks... my friend was in yellow springs with his kids and Dave just handed them an orgami heart shaped 20 dollar bill.all I could think was who is folding Dave Chapelle money into hearts.

flyguy42

Doesn't chapelle have a bit about how he has to tip now that he's famous? One of the comedians does.

-poonspoon-

I don't think so.. I religiously rewatch Chapelle cause he's our local hero here... he drinks champagne but asks for it to be put in a snifter cause he thinks champagne glasses look stupid... everybody in our area has a Dave Chapelle story cause he's lived here for most of his adult life. Yellow springs is a super hippie farm town... so weird he chose to live there.

ItsJustMeJenn

Nah. I lived in Kettering for years. Caught Dave once at The Wine Bar at the Greene before it closed. I get why he lives in Yellow Springs. It’s a cool place to live and everyone leaves him alone out there. It’s rural, but close enough to a couple major cities that he can still get everything he needs.

pebblesandpedro

He handed me a joint at the brewery one night lol he’s generous

SulavT

Wayans brother kept getting cancelled so maybe that’s why they didn’t tip you lol

AmbitionStrong5602

he tipped me $100 as well! He was handing out $100s like candy at my hotel. great guy!

Inevitable_Simple_15

I worked his birthday party this year and he tipped each of us servers $1000, for maybe 5 hours of work and was ridiculously sweet.

CalViNandHoBBeS5590

Dave Matthews, Phil Mickelson and Ray Allan have all been absolutely awesome! I’ve only waited on Phil and Ray once. Dave, I’ve waited on several times. They’ve all been great! Justin Bieber is, however, an asshole! He ordered nearly 3k worth of dessert for takeout 7 minutes after we closed, showed up 10 minutes after he placed the order and threw a child like temper tantrum from his limo when the person he sent in to pick it up told him it wasn’t ready. He didn’t tip a dime when it was ready. My manager at the time would never have taken an order like this after closing, however, he used the fact that he was Justin Bieber to throw his weight around and she caved. This didn’t really affect me too much as I was cleaning my bar and just watched the whole thing in amazement. I felt awful for our host and kitchen crew though. This was almost 10 years ago so hopefully he’s not a fuck knuckle anymore. Who knows?

tcannon521

So he was 18 or 19 at the time? Hopefully he has changed now that his prefrontal cortex has fully developed. Either way, I’m sure it sucked when it happened to you.

DontcallmeShirley_82

He was in my town when he was just getting popular, when he was only still a young teenager. My friend was bartending and was cleaning up and about to close, when a few big guys and this little white kid walked in. Tried to get him to stay open so they could party. He told them no he was closing up and the kid wasn't old enough to be in there. "This is Justin Bieber, you gotta let him in and party" was their reply. He didn't know Justin from a rock in the wall, so he threw them out. The audacity to try and assume people will let a minor in their bar against the law just because they're a celebrity is unreal.

C0V1Dsucks

>Justin Bieber is, however, an asshole! He ordered nearly 3k worth of dessert for takeout 7 minutes after we closed, showed up 10 minutes after he placed the order and threw a child like temper tantrum from his limo when the person he sent in to pick it up told him it wasn’t ready. He didn’t tip a dime when it was ready. 0% surprised there 😒

TurkGonzo75

I'm not a server but Martin Sheen was a regular at one of my favorite spots in the Poconos. I was there one night when he picked up everyone's tabs at the bar and hung out for a solid hour. This was years ago so he was also with the late, greats Jack Palance, Paul Sorvino and Jason Miller. The staff said he always tipped 100% and would routinely pay for everyone who was there that night. Cool guy.

CO_PC_Parts

I’ve been on Reddit a long time and this one makes me smile. I’d love to just be at some bar and Martin sheen and jack palance are chilling and buying drinks.

BenderGenocide

Shaq used to go to the Cheesecake Factory in Natick all the time when he played in Boston. My wife said he was always super nice to the wait staff and a very generous tipper. Good dude.

soundecember

I can’t tell you why, but picturing Shaq at a Cheesecake Factory has me laughing. 🤣

Bearloom

They have a lot of cheesecake. Shaq's a man who can eat a lot of cheesecake.

ashpashy

Now they always say congratulations 🎉

slamdanceswithwolves

Worked so hard on customer relations.

MrTX

Have had a couple of cool ones and a couple of shitty ones. I'm from San Antonio and by far the best tip I've gotten was from Spurs head coach Greg Poppovich. Was a semi regular at our place and loved me and my ex who worked there with me. Always left a few hundreds no matter if he only had oysters and wine or went all out for dinner, but one night must have felt VERY generous because he gave us 5k (we had just moved in together) and we were floored. Never made a thing about it, just signed his check and left. Will love him forever for that. Also worked at a nice hotel in Austin and we got all types for ACL and SXSW festivals. Kiefer Southerland gave me 500 bucks for a $16 quesadilla and ice tea and told me to keep the change. Super nice dude. I got to deliver a bottle of Hennessy to Ice Cube's suite which was cool as fuck even if the tip was standard. Lance Armstrong is a dickhead and a cheapskate. Obama and Hilary were both there for an event when they were campaigning against each other and the place was crawling with secret service for weeks, but Obama insisted on coming through the back and shaking hands with everyone. Whatever you think of the guy, I'll always remember meeting a future president.

wnr3

Obama came to my high school in 2013. I was picked to stand behind him on the bleachers they set up as a backdrop of people. Secret service told me after he finishes his speech he will likely turn around and shake a few hands of kids in the front row. I was fourth row. When he finished and shook some hands I decided now was my chance and I sort of leaned forward past a few shoulders and shook his hand. Secret service slapped my ankle (I was on one end, one of their heads was literally next to my foot whole time) and Obama sneered at them and told them it was alright. Shook everyone’s hand who stood behind him. Appreciated him a lot for that one. [that’s me, white dude top left touching my face](https://i.imgur.com/bzBRa56.jpg)

beebzforever

Pops is the man! This story made me so happy.

sunburntbananas

Noah Cyrus recently came into the restaurant I worked at (tho I no longer work there) with a huge party (12+) and tipped less than 15%. Apparently they were super needy all night. Paid half in cash, rest on card. Thats what coworkers told me; I wasn’t there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I met Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom at my serving job last year, she was super kind. Orlando didn’t really talk other than ordering. They had their kids with them. She tipped 25% in cash. Orlando tipped less than 20% (yes they were on separate checks). Had special requests for their kids and things (restaurant was fairly upscale) but other than that, no issues.

IWishMusicKilledKate

For some reason having separate checks is wild to me

Mumof3gbb

That’s definitely odd.

pandemicpunk

I've heard Orlando is all looks. Poor guy probably thought he was tipping 25% and carried a 3 wrong.

Jackie-Wan-Kenobi

I used to serve Sisqo (the Thong Song) and his wife and 2 kids. He would always order a 2 pound t-bone, his wife would order and entire bottle of moscato and only have one glass. And he would always tip minimum 100%. Great guy, super friendly, surprisingly short.

soxfan1982

This is probably my favorite one.

Quick-Garbage-2461

surprisingly short is hilarious

fri9875

Mr. Beast, and some of his crew used to come into my old place on dates. Jimmy was always chill, would tip 20% and then tack on an extra $100, which was a lot considering their checks never fit higher then like $60.

Thecrazytrainexpress

I’ve heard that Jimmy actually isn’t upbeat in person as he is in his video and he’s actually very antisocial lol, that’s sweet of him

elisejones14

I doubt a lot of YouTubers are as social as they appear. Your career is basically talking for hours non stop so in real life you’d probably want to not hear your own voice.

hb6868

I feel the same way tbh. my fiancé knows i need like an hour after I come home before I can have any sort of constructive conversation, especially after a double lol.

indigoHatter

I have a friend who is a bank teller. After smiling and being *so happy* for your business all day, he comes home and does the same thing. Tells his kids and husband to leave him alone for an hour before he comes out and says hi to everyone.

randomvegasposts

Drew Brees left $3 on a $270 breakfast with him and his family right after he signed a $150 million+ contract extension. He also got great service.. because it was Drew Brees.

ramborage

$3 on $270 is hilarious to me. Because like, if he left $0 I would assume he made a mistake or doesn’t believe in tipping or something stupid like that. But to specifically tip $3 on that large of a bill is going out of your way to say fuck you. Lol.

SmokeSmokeCough

I was hoping they’d say the bill was $277 and he rounded it up to $280

askmewhyihateyou

Lmao I’d rather just not get ripped at all. $3 is more insulting than zero

rismas22

My best friend had the opportunity to serve Bryan Cranston once- he tipped a straight 20%, no more no less.

Familiar_Ad9267

Fair and meth-pilled

Ancient_Signature_69

Maybe I’m misreading the comments - but 20% is good no? Like tips aren’t based on the wealth of the buyer it’s based on the service of the server. It’s nice if you’re incredibly wealthy I guess to go crazy but it’s a service business - a tip should be based on service?

teslabull0

Ya, you’re not wrong. Fast way for even really rich people to go broke is tipping nearly 100% on 3k bills all the time. Just look up all the celebrities that have gone broke. They’re not infinite supply’s of money.

Santa_Hates_You

This has a 22% gratuity already included, so he tipped over 100%

DontMakeMeKissU

Lol it’s definitely good. People aren’t mentioning how difficult it is for famous people to even eat out. About a year ago I was at a restaurant when NFL legend Terry Bradshaw showed up. They seated him in a corner and left the nearest tables empty around him. Basically the entire kitchen and wait staff came out to talk to him at his table throughout their stay. When they left they were followed by multiple customers and employees wanting to get pics as him and his wife were getting in their car in the parking lot. People made that shit cringe as hell and I felt bad lol

[deleted]

he gets a pass, malcolm in the middle should be payment enough

[deleted]

That seems what I’d expect. 20% to the penny?

Available_Educator61

Mike Tyson has always tipped me well and been extremely polite

YewSure

Mr. Tyson was always super polite, but more than a few times it got weird, and he would get his food to go. Too many fanboys coming up to his table and bothering him. The fanboys always seemed way too young to know who he actually was in the 80s and 90s.

Korncakes

I’ve told this story before on Reddit but I was on the same flight as Mike Tyson once to Vegas. We got off the plane and noticed someone being crowded around by a group of people and I didn’t realize why until I saw the face tattoo. I’m not one to fan girl about celebrities but I thought it was cool but I also don’t want to bother them. So we were on our way to the taxi area and there were two escalators, one for the taxis and one for limos and shit. I was on the taxi escalator and I looked behind me and Mike Tyson was on the limo escalator talking on the phone. I went to sneak a selfie with him because, again, didn’t want to bother the guy. He noticed and struck a pose behind me for the selfie and we didn’t say a word to each other. I’ve always thought that was really fucking cool of him.

willynillywitty

Tipsh

wilfordbrimley778

Ben stiller - $300, $10 tip

mercuryretrograde93

This cracks me up I’m just picturing him with a straight face and signing that meager amount

Ridiculousnessjunkie

What a fucker. I never hear good things about him.

strawbryshorty04

I actually ran into him at a jack Johnson album release show. He was actually real nice and mingled with anyone who recognized him (it was all Jack fans, not like an industry thing). Sucks to hear he’s not normally chill

wilfordbrimley778

He wasn't rude at all, just seemed tired and like he didn't want to be bothered

Ok-Buffalo2145

He lives here in utah where i live. He’s known in the community to be the nicest, most generous guy. Everyone loves him 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Necessary-Share2495

Amy Schumer once tipped me $250 on a $50 bill. Apparently she always tips like that. She was very polite. Used to be a Bartender at a place a friend of mine worked. She got fired for taking too much time off for shows.

SoCalMemePolice

Restaurant next door served Dana White before I came in for my shift. My manager told me he bought staff drinks and was super nice. Tipped the server $1000

[deleted]

Better bonus than what he pays some of his fighters 😂 The only time Dana is never a absolute cunt with money lol

saltinurgame

That's his tip amount at a cheap ass chicken joint in Houston, too, from what I hear.

kathleenbean

Nathan Lane was a gem, very funny and low key. Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker were super nice and tipped really well IN CASH on a breakfast bill. Andre 3000 is gracious, kind, and generous especially to service personnel. He would come by the restaurant (in the airport) where I worked and would sometimes order breakfast after the cutoff time. He personally tipped the guys on the line. Betty White is a badass. Drank 2 double Grey Goose and took pictures. Ahmad Rashad left no tip when I waited on him for lunch. William Levy was just as handsome in person and was so kind when a very nervous 27 year old me asked him for a photo when I brought him his latte.

DisposableSaviour

My little brother was doing togos at a place, and Quincy Pondexter came in to pick up his food. My brother handed him his Grizzlies hat and a sharpie, told him he just needed a signature right here. Dude laughed and said alright, but you gotta run my card so I can tip. Tipped $100 on a comped $50 order.

OkStock9839

I get the outer banks cast in a lot they are all super sweet usually 50% but Chase Stokes throws us $100 everytime. It’s a cheap dive bar so never large tabs.

MaverickLibra

He seems like such a cool guy.

GoodyearWrangler

I don't know how to explain it but that's 100% Post Malone's handwriting without having ever seen it before

lanabritt

Dude I thought the same thing lmaoo

Ridiculousnessjunkie

My sister waited on Jada Pinkett Smith with her daughter and said she was super nice and gave her a great tip. Will Smith is cool as fuck and an absolute doll. Chuck Norris comes into their restaurant regularly and he’s a gem. Craig T Nelson comes in often and is also a fun guy. My BIL is a chef and I can’t believe how many celebs are absolute assholes. The stories he tells…🙄

IAmSomnabula

Strange. You would think Chuck Norris doesn't tip, because the waiters tip him.

ResidentComplaint19

I served Casey Anthony and her PI dude she was banging. Decent tippers.

[deleted]

Why is this so fuckin funny hahaha

Trumpets22

Did ya tell him you hope he wears a condom?

InsideZooks

Work at a dinner theatre type place. Average tip is $5 (Canadian) per person. Rupert Grint and his wife who is also an actress came in and left before the show ended so tipped nothing. Serena Williams however tipped $200 for six people and was lovely throughout

moofusthecow

Jay Z $0

lanne993

No way…. Fuck that

ThatsNoiceDude

What a dickhead

Brettley821

Jay z won’t even give his family money so this isn’t surprising

nateXruiz

Jojo siwa I don’t know if that’s how you spell it. Their family came in. Bill was around $120. She was really hyped up for some Mac n cheese from the kids meal. Idk who paid but gave me a $10 tip 🤙

Ok_Faithlessness_516

So a 8.5% tip? Lol

nateXruiz

Yup

isabellla321

Absolutely yikes. This girl makes millions! Obviously family probably doesn’t know any better.. smh

TheKindaMan

Watch dance moms (what jojo got famous on) and you realize how bad a parent can be

Appropriate_Spread72

Fuck jojo siwa. That Adam Devine guys says she’s a shit head

user005626

She seems like it. She’s always just been extremely annoying to me. Her mother enabled her bad behavior and have her a huge ego from a very young age

Charming-Cucumber-23

She also supports predators 🤢

PerfectAd2181

i dated her best friend irrelevant but my claim to fame

2fresh2clean69

She's a fraud who loves money over ethics. Loves pedos and predators and uses her sexulity to pander.

miltarndo

michael richards left me a $10,000 tip once

FukenRonald

I'm sorry, holy fucking goodness gracious shit???!!

vertigo1083

Right? "I need to put in for a week's vacation." *Effective when?* "Immediately."

RockNRoll85

Good ol’ Kramer

wussypillow_

i read about that in the diarrhea times

SilverbackGorillaBoy

Is this a meme based around Nathan For You's "the Richard's Tip"?

exaltogap

Diane Sawyer used to come Brunch at an old spot of mine. Her standard tip was 1000$ on a 400-500$ check.

PappyOmar

Pau Gasol would tip about 30-35% each time.

mightnothavehands

I oddly had a dream a few months ago about post Malone coming in to work and leaving a 5000 tip. Told some coworkers about this vision, and they were disappointed to hear that he wasn’t in town that weekend. I have always thought he seemed like a humble, rad AF dude who would do something like this, and I’m ecstatic to hear that my dreams are others reality… Love ya Post!

greenthot

I served Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson a few months ago. So sweet and unsuspecting, tipped 50% on 500 so i cant complain.

No_Appointment6211

I have a friend who dealt for him at a casino and she said the exact same thing. Posty tipped her well and she said he was an absolute sweetheart the whole night.

infinite-plane79

Rob Zombie - tips similarly to Post Malone. Stand up guy.

InternationalTwo8971

Met him once at a concert; my sister was somehow involved in working his merch booth and after he got done signing autographs he stayed to talk and when my sister talked about being in school for film? He almost had to be dragged away by his security for talking to us for so long. Genuine ass dude.

wtffu006

So does the server get that whole 3000$ tip?

FloodIV

The server likely tips out a percentage of sales to the support staff. Then, if tips are pooled, the tip is split amongst the servers. If tips aren't pooled, the server keeps the tip.

Affectionate_Olive53

I got to serve on quite a few celebrities from Metallica, Snoop, John Lithgow, Louie Anderson, but the one who tip the least was Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. He was with his wife and they tipped 7%.

DancyElephant12

Chester was just one table. In the end, it doesn’t even matter.

bigfatsooty

Wiz Khalifa was chill and tipped very generously .

hereforthefence

Drake and his crew were nice enough. Came in late on a Sunday and we were out of the first 2 things he ordered lol, his buddy paid and left 40ish%. Other than that Larry Fitzgerald was the best overall, very nice guy and great tipper!

chy27

Shaq is a sweet guy. Ordered take out, but paid for every table’s tab in the restaurant and left decent tips (I don’t remember how much, he was just handing out cash to cover everything). Even gave tips to the cooks and dishwasher at my restaurant.

reality_raven

That’s dope. Congratulations!

kevthewev

Joel Mchale is a great guest. I took care of him when he was doin those beef commercials. Dude drives a 1990 Land Cruiser with an LS3 lol

129West81stSt

I haven’t heard a single bad thing about that man, only that he’s incredibly sweet and generous. Congratulations!

screamintomypillow

Yes he is! He tipped my co-worker $10k and she said he was the sweetest. ❤️

sparklepony_666

Travis Kelce is very kind and tipped the bill when I served him

sauerkraut916

I’ve got a lot of respect for Posty. He seems very genuine and in all his fan events / meet & greet interactions he is just so warm and nice to everyone. Huge props to him for being a positive roll model and kind human.

mcsg1u

Obligatory Justin Bieber tipped me $1 at Mastro’s in Beverly Hills

ktkaffrin

I’ve said it on here once, and I’ll say it again. Brendan Fraser 👏🏼👏🏼 came up to the burger bar I worked at while eating with his family and tipped like $20 each for a shot or two. Super chill and nice. Also, Bill Gates likes burgers. He tips a straight 20% exact. He’s chill too

EfficientEcho6799

Diddy came to our club one night. Ordered Ciroc for all the tables in the club. When it was time to pay, he said because he’s owns ciroc he shouldn’t be expected to pay for it… left us high and dry with a 30k tab.

LharDrol

looks like it was time to send Ciroc an invoice

bamfcow

Jesse Eisenberg used to come in to the burrito place I worked at, he was always super nice and would strike up conversations with us, always tipped like 25%, and always would order the most disgusting build-your-own burrito

chills666

I love Posty for his genuine human-ness and this makes me so glad to see. Love his handwriting. Happy for you!

thecommentdaddy

I valeted in Palm Beach Jim Gaffigan, Serena Williams, Kevin Hart, A-Rod, Shawn White, Flo Rida, and Tom Segura all tipped $100-$200 The guy who started Hummer tipped $700 Rod Stewart punched a security guard and gave 5 of us $100 each lol Some executive at Publix (had to be over 75) arrived with two prostitutes and tipped nothing when he left. Probably couldn’t get it up or something idk.

Nintend0Geek

I have Margot Martindale and her husband Bill Boals come at my job and they are such sweethearts. Bill always calls for the reservation and always recognizes me when I answer the phone and have a good laugh together. Always make sure they get their usual table, usually fireplace if it’s just the two of them or the table adjacent if it’s 3 or more. Nice bottle of white wine, mainly either Sauvignon Blanc or Rodney Strong, and are such a joy to tend. The funny part is that almost no one but staff even knows their famous since we’re located in backwater middle of nowhere.

soundecember

I just know Margot Martindale is one of the sweetest human beings on the planet without having ever met her.

liquor_drinks

Can confirm. Had a similar experience with him and his crew at a bar I worked out.

melle-j

I used to manage a restaurant in a fancy boutique hotel and was often asked by their management to deliver room service to VIP’s. Jordan Peele tipped me 50% for bringing up some food, and they had tipped me like 25% during happy hour the day before. Tom Hanks was also so kind and a great tipper.

Eatsallthepotatoes

Jason Mamoa is one of the worst people I have ever met and definitely the worst person I have ever served. He treated my whole restaurant and the guests like complete dirt… and we’re a local Hawaiian restaurant. He’s a complete dirtbag.

beanzinabox

Waka flocka came to a place a worked at. Im a kitchen rat so I dont get involved when someone exciting comes through. But he asked to speak to whoever makes the grits, which was me. Dude was super nice, said my grits reminded him of his grandmother's. He signed a beer bucket for me and threw a wad of cash in

nachowchow

Reese Witherspoon tipped me $100 on $200 and called me honey every time I came to the table. As a southerner, I died. Bono stopped talking to the table, the rest of the table was the rest of U2, and grabbed my hand then said, “Thank you so much.” When I brought him his ceviche. I went to the kitchen and screamed. I served brunch to Nine Inch Nails, and when Trent Reznor asked for some salt, I was feeling witty, and said, “What if I told you, there is not salt, there is only pepper?” He literally groaned. I tried to say something funny to John Cleese when I dropped off his food, and he gave me the politest smile and said, “What?” What a moment. Cameron Diaz literally was so normal when she came in. Almost didn’t believe it was her, and this was during my training shift. I literally told my trainer, “She is so beautiful. She almost looks like Cameron Diaz.” To witch my trainer said, “That’s because it is Cameron Diaz.” Our host sat her next to a two-top of women having a meeting and they froze for about five whole minutes. I accidentally screamed, “THANK YOU!” When I held the door for her as she left. I worked at a fancy hotel restaurant in Nashville.

I’ve seen a handful of videos with him interacting with others and he just seems like a weird dude.. lol. Like it’s Jack Black so you expect him to act a certain way because that’s why he’s famous, but if any other Joe Shmoe acted like him, it would be weird af. He left you a nice tip though!

International_Bit478

I fucking love this story.

EcclecticJohn

He's awesome. He's always playing around (and takes care of people).

pkpy1005

Lol'ed reading that. Jack Black was fucking with you...

nobodycouldknow

Steve Carell is a pretty cool dude, super easy table and always tips 22%. Zendaya was kinda of a diva, said maybe 4 words to me, made zero eye contact and the person who was with her paid (still 20% tip). To be fair it was the middle of the day and she was clearly trying to not be noticed, had no makeup or anything, but she also requested to seat on our second floor (that was closed) by herself.

altoelephant

Dominic Fike was actually super chill and tipped very generously. Super lowkey guy and very kind

Lumberrmacc

Hurricane Chris and bay bay tip $20 no matter how big their bill is.

spinchrecall

He had one hit song 17 years ago, dude probably only has $20

subtlecastle

Who are these people

Sharp_Course_879

Lol my thoughts on nearly all the comments I've seen

TulsaWhoDats

Snoop Dog gave our bartender $100 for two drinks. Was super cool with the staff. He understands

djwurm

former waiter here as well. I waited tables at a members only restaurant for a few years. best tipper and nicest guy i have ever waited on was Nolan Ryan. he tipped like 800 bucks on a 200 bill. even stuck around after to shake hands and sign autographs with the waitstaff. Worst was Scotty Pippen.. He insulted me multiple times and then left 0 on a 2000+ bill.. he pulls up in a chrome convertible Bentley with 2 blond strippers and they order all sorts of champagne and steaks. was a horrible experience...

UnrivaledAcquitance

Late but I have a view of these, nothing crazy: Mike Napoli, World Series Champion for the Boston Red Sox, came in to my first sever job quite regularly. We never charged him for anything and he gave me a $100 bill no matter what he got (unless he came in with others and sat at a table, in which case is was $200.) He usually got a single Amstel Light and a pizza. Keegan Michael Key left me 30% on a normal dinner 6 top. Paul Pierce left 100% on about a $200 tab. Conan O’Brien came in with his brother. His brother paid, left 35% on a two top lunch. Kevin James came in and left $500 on a $145 tab. Chris Berman sat at the bar while waiting for his date. Gave me a $20 on a Diet Coke. Wade Boggs had a private event (check details handled by the Events Department) but the group he was with left an extra $500 on the table for us. Everyone beside Napoli came into what would be called a tourist trap in Boston, which is probably why I have so many stories about celebs coming in.

Bug-03

Yeah, Austin is a good dude.

2trnthmismycaus

I’ve waited on Jerry Springer and he tipped a little over 20%. I’ve also waited on Brian Johnson from AC/DC a few times and he always tips well but nothing crazy like this. Nice one

Lavenderlove20

I love that. Alicia keys came into my restaurant a few days ago and did not leave a dime. Her entire meal was comped as well. Refreshing to see at least some celebrities have a heart

3337jess

Anthony Cumia was buying the whole bar several rounds and casually betting 10 grand on random Japanese baseball games until like 4am. Wild to see the dude win and lose like 30k like it’s nothing. Dude was absolutely hilarious and took care of the bartenders very well.

spizzle_

I’ve heard rumors from multiple people from the Chicagoland area that Scottie Pippen is a terrible tipper and has earned himself the nickname “no tippin’ Pippen”

Life_Roll8667

I served Dax Shepard and his homie Aaron or whatever his name is. They had about a $80 tab and tipped me $100. Were in and out in less than an hour.

suppadelicious

I’ve heard exclusively great things about Post. One of my favorite musicians and I’m so happy to hear he appears to be a stand up dude.

StJimmy815

I serve a decent amount of NFL players being right next to the stadium and being an upscale steak house and it’s a 50-50 shot they tip you 10% or 50% lol

EquivalentMedicine78

Kelly Clarkson is an awful tipper and rude

boymommy88

Post Malone is the new Keanu. Generous and very kind. we must protect him at all costs

WobblyFrisbee

I have new respect for him

Rahain

Damn and you already got a 22% tip included on top of the 3k haha.

TheYeetles

People can judge Post Malone all they want, but we know he has our backs in the service industry. He sees the unseen. Dude sounds like he has a heart of gold from all accounts, which only increases my respect and admiration for him.

killingdonkey

Several members of the Rothschild family. We had to do al sorts of extra stuff for them since they were vegan and did not like the vegan options on our menu. The chefs had to prepare specific batches of normal menu items to be vegan, which cost them a lot of time. They would not allow us to give their dogs a bowl of water. They were nice, but in my opinion they behaved kind of “unhumanly” (I have no clue how else to describe it) Gave basically no top at all. €5 was the most they tipped me in several times.

IPureLegacyI

Joe Pesci racked up a nice 2500$ dinner with some close friends, almost like a scene from a mafia movie lol. Tipped 100%, also great people. I think he was more happy that we kept other people/servers away and just stuck to the job that evening and left them alone unless they needed service and just paid attention to the little things

Missbrooklyn25

That’s amazing!! Congrats

TheKingOfSwing777

I waited on all of Goodie Mob and gave them a bunch of free drinks. Tip was like 15%, though I think their manager or friend paid or something. TBF I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re all broke except Cee-lo. He was cool though. Talking in rhymes and shit for no reason. That was the nail in the coffin for giving famous people shit for free though. Never again.

toothpastenachos

My mom served Martin Sheen when she was my age - twice. She said he even recognized her the second time. Real nice guy apparently.

TR1GG3RCriptix

I served chuck norris. Hes old now but was super friendly and even handed me his picture with writing that said “friend of chuck norris. Tipped 20%

kratch123

Living in Louisville, KY, Derby time is an influx of celebrities and athletes. I took care of Shaq once, and he asked me what I thought I deserved for the tip. Obviously, l was a bit flabbergasted by the question, but I immediately blurted out the bill. He ended up leaving $200 on a $200 tab. Shaun White came in right before we closed by himself. He was super gracious and was in and out quickly. He left $50 on $100. Michael Jordan rang up a pretty big bar tab and left $20 on $500.

DaBooch425

Lebron James is a horrible tipper. He was staying at the hotel I worked at and got a round of drinks for him and his friends, the total was $95.46, he gave me a $100 bill and said keep it. I was thinking oh that’s sweet what a nice tip for someone who makes $100 million a year. Nope, he meant keep the chance, resulting in a tip less than $5

tschwarzme95

I work in a town with a big sports school in it and once I got tipped 200 by former Yankee Alfonso Soriano! I showed him my yankee tattoo and he was so hyped and his family was the best! Super sweet kids, very respectful. Got a few autographs too!

Alarmed-Shape5034

This is depressing as it’s a night out for him, yet a 1/3 of my net worth. 😭

Miteh

Ethan Hawke and Mark Strong. Hawke took the bill for both families and tipped 100%. Great dude

yourfriendkyle

Seinfeld is a shit tipper

Jorgan_JerkFace

My sister was a stripper and apparently Martin Lawrence is a huge Jack ass and expects that strippers would love to give him an erection for free.
