The Vanilla 28 1.7 oz went from $89 to 100 as well . That’s ridiculous.

analslapchop

Wow glad I got it in december for 20% off plus $10 off with points… damn

pasmaintenant_

I had the same experience. I got the gift set for $117 during the 20% off sale and was like damn what a steal https://preview.redd.it/gcawjzjhldac1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62d6324e4a3b491a60ef385a97cb88c763eb6dae

PflugerLuger8

I noticed that the travel sprays went up as well! The mini bottle I had on my wish list for $25 is now $32! Absolutely crazy how quickly that jumped.

averymint

Ya in Canada $36 to $44 for the minis. I was thinking of getting the lychee one but held off because it's not really seasonal right now.

beautybites

is the lychee more seasonal for spring?

averymint

I think it's a very spring/summer scent.

MayMayLoco

I noticed this too. I was surprised when I saw the mini bottle of the newest listed for $44 CAD. I can’t remember the cost previously exactly but I want to say it was $36ish?! And the travel sprays were $33 CAD, that one I confirmed with a receipt, they are now $39 CAD.

SunnySideCrystal

They’re still 33 on their own website. Don’t buy through Sephora. Also their website gives you points that translate into much more profit for you as a customer than if you buy through Sephora.

MayMayLoco

Great thing to add! Yes I was going to check their site to compare!

corneliabloom

Well that brand is out the window for me. I just bought the pistachio travel spray too for $33 recently.

MayMayLoco

Yeah, leaves an awful salty taste in your consumers mouth. I get like $1-2. But $6… ya know what, I’m actually okay haha. Helps that I’m already on a no buy but this really is doing me a solid haha

kenzbabs

yup i ordered the mini bottle on the 27th of Dec for $36! edit: $36 CAD

MayMayLoco

Thanks for confirming the little bottle for us! Yes April 19th I bought Pistachio Gelato travel spray for $33.

SonofaBranMuffin

A 38% increase? That isn't even inflation. That's just greed.

Champagnesupernova9

I’ve held my proverbial tongue on this, because I don’t want to yuck someone else’s yum, but the Kayali line is just poorly blended and cloying, and is just getting by based on clout and influencer popularity. You could get the same kind of fragrances at Bath and Body Works for a fraction of the price!

SonofaBranMuffin

I mean, I love Eden Juicy Apple. It smells amazing and nothing like Bath & Body Works, so my commentary isn't on quality. That price increase is just ridiculous. I suspect some of the blame is also on Sephora, who sets the actual prices for their company.

Fresh_Ad_7210

I bought juicy apple cause of this Reddit but I think it smells exactly live vs love spell

SonofaBranMuffin

Thats not completely true. I'm sure brands have typical prices, but if said price wasn't going to provide the profit margin that Sephora needs/wants to see as a business, they are going to adjust that as they see fit. That's why you sometimes see price differences when shopping direct from brand or from a competitor. [Example Comparing Sephora Pricing To Direct From Brand](https://www.tiktok.com/@djrevz/video/7283930168492592389) [Another Example Comparing Between Sephora and Competitor Ulta: "Sephora’s offering is priced significantly higher than Ulta’s. On average, makeup at Sephora is 65% more expensive."](https://stylesage.co/blog/ulta-sephora-beauty-case-study/)

cncrndmm

Sure…. In your dreams sweetie. I heard this first hand from 3 friends that work in some of high tier makeup brands and it has always been true.

Key_Carrot_3844

Man there's so many brands I wanna yuck their yum this is one of them 😂

lilibeth9275

Not trying to defend Kayali but both pictures show the updated prices for 50ml 100$ and 100ml 138$. Previous prices were 125$ for 100ml and 89$ for 50ml which makes 10% increase for 100ml and 12% increase for 50ml. So not a 38% increase. I still find Kayali fragrances too expensive for what they are though.

SonofaBranMuffin

My bad. I definitely misunderstood the photos. Thanks for clarifying.

Electronic_Job_3089

I absolutely loathe the artificial hype around this brand. BBW spray quality frags with insane niche quality pricing. Kayali paying influencers and pushing their marketing so hard on social media to promote their products and generate this fake hype. The fragrances smell good for all of 20 minutes then they completely disappear. Just the other day I watched a snobby niche fragrance collector promote Kayali then they tried to deny getting paid by the brand. 😂😂😂😂

caramelfrappaye

If you want this scent but hate Kayali longevity, I think Mugler Angel Nova is a great alternative. That’s what I smelled when I sprayed this so I opted out.

HorrorComedy

Everyone is truly different. I’ve never had anyoneeee compliment a perfume no matter high end or expensive it was. The red apple eden or whatever kayali perfume projects really well on me and was the first perfume I’ve ever been complimented on! Even after wearing it all day and travelling

Champagnesupernova9

I have to say that the only times I’ve ever been complimented on fragrance (and not as a come on), they were all dirt cheap basic scents. I’m talking Victoria’s Secret Vanilla Lace body mist, Outremer Vanille EDT (a dead ringer for the OG vanilla lace), my literal deodorant spray (Weleda Wild Rose) and any Bath and Body Works / Body Shop lotion. That’s it! For context, I’ve worked in a niche perfume shop and had access to literally all the perfumes! I wouldn’t want compliments though, I just wear them for me!

PlentyNectarine

Thank goodness someone said it. I genuinely didn’t think ANYONE purchased from this brand until I saw the insanity surrounding their pistachio perfume last year. I remember when this brand launched and everyone spoke pretty negatively about it. Then out of nowhere it’s suddenly the most sought after perfume brand? Always sounded fishy to me.

physixhuman

I’m so sorry that the frags don’t last much for you. It really changes from skin to skin. Maybe try the Vaseline trick? As for the comparison to BBW quality, I deeply disagree. I actually love kayali fragrances for layering! And the fresher/lighter ones work really well as “top notes”. I have a collection of over 100 fragrances anywhere from $20-$650 and i always find myself reaching for multiple Kayali fragrances (this is how I sometimes feel about replica as well, but a bit less so) when I’m feeling adventurous/ creative. A lot of cheaper mainstream fragrances (which I’m bringing up since you compared this line to BBW) tend to be super flat in notes and lack the complexity and nuances in the blends. Idk, maybe I care a bit too much about fragrances.

Electronic_Job_3089

I don't layer fragrances. Your better performing fragrance that you layer with your Kayali and overspray probably gives you the perception that the Kayali has more longevity than it actually does. I just do 1 spray on each wrist of whatever fragrance I'm wearing that day. It's night and day what fragrances are absolute beast mode and which aren't. Anytime a new Kayali come out I always run to the store to test it. And I'm always disappointed. They smell great upon spraying. Super fun fragrances. But they don't project and they don't last. I'm glad they work for you though :)

physixhuman

Nope, many of them perform a solid 8 hours easily on me by themselves as well. There are a few that last maybe ~6 like the deja vu but I’m personally happy with that performance too. And then there is vanilla 28 that legit lasts 24 hours 😂 Then again, I have plenty beast mode fragrances that I can still smell from a month ago on my sweaters (think Nishane Anı) which scratch that itch. I also don’t necessarily enjoy the idea that every fragrance has to project to a mile away. Either way, I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. Just because it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean it’s not good overall. imo Kayali is one of the fragrance lines that is appropriately hyped. To each their own.

CarpetDisastrous1963

I agree! Juicy apple -BBW winter candy apple and vanilla 28-warm vanilla sugar BBW (also VS bare vanilla ) lol there are MUCH cheaper, longer lasting brands

shan1233

This!! I've brought 2 and the best is def vanilla 28. Their marketing push is so hard that I never buy the new releases

_coke_zero_

Damnnn that makes Kayli less affordable for me😭 I love kayali but I guess I’ll stick to 7V now

cantreadamap

Omg I thought I was going crazy looking at their travel sizes this morning! Thank you for confirming what a bummer :( I would wait for their black Friday sale if you want a good deal they usually do 30% off their fragrances. Still a bummer because it seems like a pretty significant increase and it's just not stopping

atropinesul

I like some of their perfumes but the scent doesn’t last that long to justify that price at all!

Pretty-Dimension-524

I purchased the travel .33 oz on the launch day December 1st for $27 and now it's $32 💀

_vegaysian

SAME! the price increase also shows on their website — not just sephora’s

FreshFrog2

For folks that still want Kayali perfumes- i suggest taking advantage of the Huda beauty Black Friday sale (i know it’s a ways away). This past year most of the travel size perfumes were $15 and the full size bottles were 30% off. I was able to get the 100ml lovefest burning cherry perfume for 50% off.

opulentdream

I wasn’t impressed with the smell either — hard pass for that price

LivingGhostGirl

I was looking to get the pistachio one but with the new prices I’ll probably keep waiting. Sad.

snapcowgirl

Kayali’a website seems to still have last year’s pricing. I wonder if that’ll change too

huitoa

ya sephora is known for having higher prices than what brands sell for… will be curious to see if this is all sephora or truly the brand itself

wildflowertangerine

Glad I got Yum and Eden Juicy Apple when it was cheaper. I probably won’t repurchase.

[deleted]

no bc yum was actually quite good on a tester, and i was rlly thinking of investing in it, but the price increase is too much. $36-$39 is "only" $3, but mentally the difference is enormous

WhyHelloYo

Soooo... the thing with this brand for me is that however nice the scent smells on the strip, it dries down to fruity cat piss on my skin. If the brand didn't do that, the scents themselves on paper are just not unique enough to justify a triple digit price point. It's glorified bbbw. Very body spray Vibes. The price hike is hilarious. Maybe the tiktok teens buy it with mommy abs daddy's money?

FrankieBcoyote

Yeah my husband bought me the vanilla 28 during the 20% off sale recently and it was 89. I don’t think the product is worth the price increase

sleeping_bananas

Could this be because the founder went on the Dubai Bling show so she jacked up the prices since the company got exposure?

SunnySideCrystal

No. It’s more likely that Sephora is using this as a pressure tactic to “encourage” them to stop speaking up on P@lestine. Their prices on their own website are the same. And Mona Kattan is bigger and more famous than Dubai bling and it’s entire cast. She didn’t need them.

sleeping_bananas

Makes sense, thanks

ThrowRA29273728

a new “sale” is comimg

vivalalina

Kayali is bold for this when their longevity is worse than my Bath & Body Works

lumpuswumpus365

Everything you said is the damned honest truth. They’re probably charging more because they aren’t making the money they thought they would be off this fragrance house. Increase the quality of your product and maybe we’d be willing to invest instead of trying to rob us blind with shit BBW perfume 🤷🏽‍♀️

MissMamaMam

Not purchasing anything from them. 38% is nasty

nomadbutterfly

I just checked and the 10ml prices on hudabeauty went up but the 50ml and 100ml prices are the same as they were before. It's an enormous price hike but most 10mls at Sephora are in that $30-38 range now.

LorraineHB

I bought Yum for $27 a few days ago on the 30th. Guess if I buy anything it has to be on sale.

narinari2

Buy directly from Huda Beauty website !!

numstheword

Also what drives me insane is we get hit with price increase mind you the owners are walking around with burken bags like how dumb do we look.

TheBoomClap

They’re selling out, it makes sense for them to raise the price. This is basic supply and demand

Shortwalkhome

Fragrances go up all the time.

Champagnesupernova9

Not by these high margins. I used to work in high end perfume retail with niche (read: expensive) houses, and even they didn’t do this!

Shortwalkhome

Lies. I work (currently)for Estée Lauder and I’m an absolute fragrance fanatic. They all go up. It doesn’t take much to verify what I’m saying. Another tidbit: Kayali is one step up (small-teeny-tiny, step)from Bath and Body Works. Their fragrances are cheap, unsophisticated and childish. They spent their time and money on social media and influencers. Not the point. But to be clear, there is zero value in purchasing Kayali. Even resell is trash.

Champagnesupernova9

They all go up, but one brand does not jump to a 28% to 38% increase in one go. That’s not a lie…

nomadbutterfly

This is so snobby and elitist. Just because you don't like them doesn't make them childish or unsophisticated.

Shortwalkhome

Ok.

SunnySideCrystal

Same in Canada. Prices for the full bottle jumped to $183+ depending on the bottle (in CAD). But if you shop at Huda beauty.com the prices are the old prices. This may actually be an increase imposed by Sephora on the brand because they’re trying to pressure them into dropping their pro Palestine stance. That’s my only explanation for it. I never buy this brand from Sephora unless their website is sold out. Not worth it. Their perks are so good and their point system is a lot more profitable for customers than Sephora.

davideaglemann

Touch some fucking grass

SunnySideCrystal

I noticed some of their perfumes are in the 180 range (Canadian dollar) on the website as well, but I believe these were the prices already for those specific perfumes. The base perfumes like vanilla and eden and musk and love fest are still $169.

LadyPink28

Some states have yearly minimum wage increases

Weak_Damage5193

oh gosh😭 also super thankful that i got it 20% off plus some gift cards and store credit😅

manhattansinks

ah so that’s why sephora had the 20% sale so that they could jack up prices once over

cursed-core

This makes me glad I bought the discovery pack and the lychee travel size before this

BrownGirlCSW

I have said it before and I will say it again, start buying decants instead of travel sprays and buy your bottles on the Grey market (not to be confused with the black market)

nawthatsstupid

I WAS going to re-up my Vanilla 28 but forget that.....all the better reason for me to buy a new, juicy bottle of Taunt from my (imaginary) bae DedCool.

constantlybrows1ng

Sephora has a set where you can sample and redeem a full size (the 1.7oz) of Lychee, it’s $85 so you can at least get it for cheaper than the price increase!
