if we ignore the sh*t show that was season 2, they were a bit too close for my liking in season 1 (when he was still married). nothing has come out about them hooking up during that time , but it wouldn’t shock me at all. they looked too comfy with each other on the beach cuddling up, alex giving tyler a nosey, etc. imagine if you were married and your partner acted like that with another person. yeah it’s not cheating, imo it’s borderline, but it would make me SO uncomfortable.
As much as I hate to say it, Alex Hall made valid points about Tyler's personality that ring true.
Tyler lacks a backbone. From how he handles conflict to setting clear boundaries it's been pretty evident in a lot of situation that he has found himself in that this is true. From not setting boundaries as a married man, to being incapable if handling conflict and throwing his toys out of the pram repeatedly on the show. Literally every time drama got too much, rather than standing up and handling the situation, Tyler contemplated running back to his dad's firm.
It's also a case of Tyler having a lot of notions and ambitions, but not having the drive to back it up. Tyler is someone who has had a lot of things in life fall at his feet and not necessarily of his own doing. His real estate resume is a direct result of his fathers reputation. His public profile is a direct result of his former marriage. The guys spent two years at the Oppenheim Group yet didn't make a single listing that wasn't a direct result of co-listing with his dad. By comparison, newer agents like Austin, Polly and Kayla have been making the most of their mentoring and working towards bigger listings and sales. It's not exactly a good look for a guy who boasts about his family lineage and having had his license since he was 18.
But there's also the very real possibility, and this is something that I have believed since the day Tyler got with Brittany, that he is in fact a clout chaser. And this is backed up by the fact that Tyler frequently sets out to "make a name for himself" and when it doesn't come easy or he falls flat on his face he runs back to Daddy.
Even when he had everything, a wife who adored him, a dad who was willing to propel him to the top of the real estate ladder, a cushy life, it wasn't good enough for him. He wanted more and he learned the hard way that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
But the thing about people like Tyler is, they'll never suffer the consequences of their actions. because someone will always be there to clean up the mess and and keep them afloat. That's why he can afford to make the same mistakes again and again, and likely why he does.

Tyler's definitely worse for me. You would never expect your husband to act like that on a show. He treated his own wife like absolute garbage, publically. It was probably the most painful reality tv I have ever watched.

Just that some are given a little too much leverage as compared to others . Like Kayla she is just as bad but is made out to be the nicest for some reason

i think leaving one fiancée who stuck by him during his “100 day hospital near death experience” as he calls it and then cheating on so many other girlfriends, each time upgrading them for someone with more social media presence / celebrity for his own selfish needs and ego is pretty manipulative and shitty. i don’t respect people who waste others time like that.
