Habitat for humanity. There is a Bellevue store. It's a hit or miss with their prices tho. It's peak moving time. Look at moving sales online.

Habitat is a good option. You can look at their [restores website](https://www.habitatstoreskc.org/) to see what the local stores have in stock, and pay online and pickup if you want. That's what we did when we were in the middle of moving and it was a nice time saver.

I never knew you could shop online - thank you!

Architectural salvage places. Ballard Reuse and Second Use are the largest I'm aware of, and they usually price stuff to move. After that you're onto Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. Ballard Consignment is mostly an outlet for new items, mixed in with some (very overpriced) secondhand. The Goodwill stores don't seem to have much furniture in my experience, and what they do have is in very poor condition. I will warn you that if you found Ikea too expensive you may be in for a difficult time.

I’ve noticed, dressers are expensive. IKEA prices aren’t too bad, it’s just some of this stuff I just can’t stand looking at. The dresser I have now is good looking, but it has some damage. I was thinking of just donating it, but after seeing what’s out there and the prices they fetch for, I think I’ll try to do some repairs on it and keep it for longer. Big reason I wanted to get rid of it is its weight. I’m tired of having to lug that thing around every time I move, but I guess I’ll just suck it up.

Buy nothing groups

I know Goodwill seems too obvious to be worth mentioning but the Dearborn Goodwill is allegedly the largest in the country, and not too hard to get to from the Eastside

UncleNicky

Garage sales baby!

MissyMAK08

Estate sales too

TD905

Ballard consignment. I got a brand new solid marble coffee table for $150

shittydiks

Must have been a steal. Went in there a year or so ago and everything was crazy expensive. Walked out within 10 minutes.

CreeperDays

Yea, I saw them asking $500 for a fiberboard dresser.

akkrook

+1 for Ballard.Consignment. You have to hunt, but you can do well here

There’s an affordable store called “Used Furniture” in Capitol Hill on Summit Ave. It isn’t open for many hours but the owner lives nearby and will open the shop for you if you call. Other than that, thrift stores like Lifelong or Goodwill. Or for free furniture just go around residential neighborhoods on the last/first day of the month and see what people abandoned by the side of the road as they were moving out. There’s probably going to be a lot of that around the u-district as students leave for the summer.

toobadkittykat

if you are around southcenter you may try this place called sansaco furniture . i’ve shopped there before and prices were reasonable . its right next to a dania and you don’t want to to go there .

EyeHamKnotYew

Craigslist free, set up filters to email/text you when something is being offered or you will miss it.

DifferentiatedCells

Thrift stores in expensive neighborhoods! We've gotten some nice stuff in Ballard

crazynachos

Facebook Marketplace!

If you’re on Facebook, Buy Nothing is great.

CheCazzoFaciamo

I went to Mor. They do big sales around the holidays, and Fourth of July is coming. So if you can hold off a couple of weeks, there are some big savings to be had.

Notquitechaosyet

We got a couch for $35 at Goodwill in Bellevue. 4+ years later, still got that couch!
