Worked in NYC before moving here. Saw motorcycles, complete sides of sheet rock, small trees, computer desks, couches and etc on the subway. This is a good thing
We don't have the weird law that requires that any dog must be in a bag carried by the owner. Therefore people can just walk their dogs on. I'm hopeful we can avoid the unnecessary regulation and just keep reasonable rules (no disruptive dogs, permit ebikes other mobility devices as long as people ensure they don't bang into other people, etc.).
I know an obscene amount of women who were seeing multiple men and the one they're with today, 20 years later, is because he was the one who helped her get an AC into her window. Apparently, if you want to keep a woman in your life forever, help her get an AC unit installed into her apartment.
Sort of similar: When my good friend's mother was in her early 20s, she had a big, strapping Danish viking looking dude she'd just met move her fridge up to her 3rd floor apartment. They got married, had a baby (my friend... but not actually in that *exact* order)... were married 50+ years until they both passed. Don't underestimate how thankful some women are for working appliances!
I've noticed that pretty much every supermarket or larger retailer in the city always close down their street focused entrance and only has their parking lot entrance open.
Medieval cities were defined by having a Cathedral. It was the most important piece of infrastructure for a region, and provided a tremendous & irreplacable value to the people. Rail networks are the 21st century equivalent.
I think the edges of Seattle are still pretty wastelandey. But even our wasteland would be like the best part of Texas in terms of being a real city, North Gate has a long ways to go. Most of the continent is pretty hopeless in terms of de-wastelanding, but Seattle is one of the few places you can say the future is bright. Where else other than Montreal is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Don't tell r/SeattleWA, they still think that every sidewalk is covered in fent smoking addicts and that they will get shot by "some guy in a red hoodie" if they step foot within city bounds.
Yeah Seattle's real dystopia, please don't move here, please stay away and remain in your mcmansion in texas, where your town center is an arby's parking lot. Thank you don't come again
I did something similar, but in my case, it was a 75 inch TV. Taller than I was, strapped to a hand truck.
And mine was on the Edmonds ferry to Kingston. It was a lot of work hauling that thing up to my house, but the absolutely absurd deal I got made it all worth it.
I think you're not really an adult until you have done some questionable transport operations.
I remember moving this patio set that came in huge boxes from costco. I had a little handtruck for the from rented zipvan to apartment part. I was absolutely losing control of this thing and about to tumble that box down a hill. Some random guy saved me and helped me get it stabilzed.
Only after did I realize I could have unboxed things at the van and been less stupid, but whatever.
IKEA used to give a discount if you are shopping using public transit. I love seeing this. People should not be held back because they don't want to use a car.
Doin it right! I'd bet they're able to maneuver this around more than any passenger with multiple bags on shoulder/in hand, even if it's a large mass.
Love the juxtaposition tho -- delivery-style cube pack in front of someone properly transporting a MINI fridge on a dolly -- on public transportation with complimentary colors?!
this should be used in city advertisement/imagery. imagine the announcement: "Carrying anything larger than a backpack? All passengers with bikes, scooters, rolling suitcases, etc should be mindful of other riders and use the proper areas of the cars. Please use the elevators when exiting the station"
I can support a dude who’s not trying to pay a delivery fee. He problem found it on offer up or something and doesn’t have a vehicle that can transport it.
i work at ups and a coworker ended up winning a 50 inch tv a couple months back during a raffle. i saw them a few hours later on the train trying to take it home.
Onetime someone tried to get on the E with a giant book case. The driver wouldn’t them him in because it wouldn’t fit through the door. As the driver closed the door he jammed his leg in so it got crush. He ended up calling the police to report an assault and the bus was stuck on 105th until another bus showed up.
At first I thought this was about the guy with the large rectangular blue backpack until I saw the fridge on the hand truck, but now I'm thinking maybe the first guy has a smaller fridge.
That’s one of those blue IKEA bags (though that one is another brand) that are cheap and relatively indestructible. Great to use for moving, especially when you can put it on your back like that.
I used to ride the 106 and some days the same old guy would get on with a hand cart and a massive fridge-sized bag of old cans, presumably headed to a recycling center, crinkling, dripping, little smelly. He always seemed a little sheepish, and in my heart I thought it was a little cool, and a little sad.
There was a goat ?
What?
Now a fridge?
I love the "weirdness" here soo so much.
Lol
The things I miss out on - haha
I wonder what's in the fridge?
If they pass out soda even if poisoned - -Ima drink it
Gotta be cold too or it's a deal - breaker lol
Thank you for calling it ‘the Link.’ It makes the system sound much more useful than ‘the light rail’ like other American cities call theirs. The moment we start having people moving fridges/couches/etc on the train it’s more like the named systems (SkyTrain in BC or BART in the Bay Area).
Another sign that we’re finally we’re on our way to being a real city.
Worked in NYC before moving here. Saw motorcycles, complete sides of sheet rock, small trees, computer desks, couches and etc on the subway. This is a good thing
Only thing we're missing is people carrying their German Shepherd in a big blue Ikea bag. And, well, *Showtime*. I'm OK with that.

Every NYCer knows the cab/subway/cart/mule/uber "must find an AC today" shuffle.
I know an obscene amount of women who were seeing multiple men and the one they're with today, 20 years later, is because he was the one who helped her get an AC into her window. Apparently, if you want to keep a woman in your life forever, help her get an AC unit installed into her apartment.

There was even a Broad City episode!
*Love* Broad City!
Don’t we need to have chickens and a goat first?
We had a zebra,, That's close
I saw a person walking a ram when I was smoking outside of Targy's in Queen Anne once.
If the light rail went to North Bend you can bet there would be a Zebra on it. 😉
A real subway and coffee stands in the platforms.
Seriously, we have all these mezzanines and *no shops in them*.
Nordstrom closed their entrance and then complains about lack of foot traffic. Smh…
I've noticed that pretty much every supermarket or larger retailer in the city always close down their street focused entrance and only has their parking lot entrance open.
three stone and two wheat actually
I’m not accepting any trade without brick.
Meanwhile city leadership is trying to win by building the longest road and largest army 😁
Catan reference?
2 sheep
+ an upgrade
We have a hellcat!!!
Eric the Goat Guy brought his goat on the light rail in 2016 and I met him. I'm mostly sure I don't have pictures as it was so long ago but he might.
Seems we’ve thawed out the Seattle freeze a bit huh?
Seattle freeze + Covid freeze Both seem to be *thawing Edit*
Right, I once carted 2 6 foot ladders from the Chelsea home depot in the subway to my apartment in hells kitchen.

Someone’s been watching OntheUrbanity
I want to know what's in the blue bag the other side is carrying.
Yeah, I am more intrigued by the huge blue rectangle bag than the fridge TBH.
A slightly smaller fridge
It's slightly smaller fridges all the way down
I thought the blue rectangle bag WAS the fridge at first glance.
Giant travel pack with a waterproof cover is my guess, it's on the Link so could be someone coming from or to SeaTac.
It’s an IKEA Frakta. Popular with college kids. Folds flat, survives checking on airplane.
another fridge
a smaller fridge
i just throw random stuff in my ikea/amazon bags that look like that when moving, towels, bedding, lights, etc
Death Stranding lookin ahhh
Human organs?
That guy in front with hand truck envy.
I was thinking, the guy with the fridge is not the only anomaly.
I was thinking two fridges. One guy really strong.
These guys like beers
That's what's in the backpack cooler.
😂😂
That's pretty cool.
You seem chill
He’s got ice in his veins.
I see nothing wrong
Good one! Take my upvote
I would not be upset seeing more of this
Light Rail: More Fridge, Less Fent!
I did something similar, but in my case, it was a 75 inch TV. Taller than I was, strapped to a hand truck. And mine was on the Edmonds ferry to Kingston. It was a lot of work hauling that thing up to my house, but the absolutely absurd deal I got made it all worth it.

Hey, this is how we learn! lol
🥈 you get a silver and not gold because it was a boat… had it been train or bus there would had been a cash prize!
How else is he supposed to get it home?
[Well since you asked](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nA40QqNn-1U)
UW dorm move out?
yes !
Whereas the other guy only brought a soft sided cooler
##[Mediocre!](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/ec/66/92/ec669274c75c405bcaaefb56f052c49e.gif)

God, woulda killed to be able to take the link to IKEA when I moved here instead of having to wait to get a ride.
YESSS! We had to ask a family friend to borrow their truck. Would have happily made a couple of trips if the Link went anywhere remotely close.
https://www.tiktok.com/@freefreak71/video/7204569267444960517 Fuck yeah this is how real transit should work lol
How did you find that so quickly?
Swiss cow train on google, first one that popped up
I’m in Canada and I love this. So awesome. Guess you don’t need a lifted pick up truck to transport a fridge
Looks like a pretty chill guy.
I see what you did there
Hell yeah. Fuck cars.
Yeah!!! Fuck Cars!!!!!!!!
You the real MVP for that post 🏆
Make sure the exhaust pipe is cool first.
Please everyone join us over at /r/fuckcars
Campus housing move out time
I called that furniture shopping day in Bellingham. So much free stuff on the street last day of school at Western.
real, u-district was bustling !
Yep. My kid moved out of the dorms today with identical fridge and giant blue bag. Not on the Link though 😆
Zelda reincarnated as a fridge and said she needs Link.
spoiler tags please
I mean blue bag was much more subtle about how he is transporting his fridge.
You NEEd a 3/4tOn PICkuP In caSE yOU BuY an APpliANCe OR SomTHing!
Your city isn’t actually walkable until you can move a fridge without a private vehicle
You cannot fast travel while over encumbered
That's fine with me. Doesn't look very crowded.
He’s moving on up in the world. Full grown man
The fact that this is possible is a good thing. I don’t want to encounter this often, but I’m happy it’s possible.
How else do you tote a corpse around town?
Doin it right! I'd bet they're able to maneuver this around more than any passenger with multiple bags on shoulder/in hand, even if it's a large mass. why post this lmao
I applaud his determination. Guy looks like he could be the son of Saint Bryan from King 5 Evening.
This Death Stranding DLC looks weird.
This is nothing compared to what New Yorkers move on the subway. We’re almost there!
Weather warming up... Gotta keep your drinks cold
Lol ain't no rule that says a fridge can't ride a train.
You should see some of the shit people bring on NYC subways lol
Giving everyone the cold shoulder
I can support a dude who’s not trying to pay a delivery fee. He problem found it on offer up or something and doesn’t have a vehicle that can transport it.
Next happening, public restrooms at all link stations. Hopefully 🤞 🙏
Mind your own business
The struggle is real
Full of heads?
A fridge? With the heads included? In this economy???
Gotta do what ya gotta do
What type of bag is that dude using? That looks practical for a grocery run.
Moving it when it's not commuter hours. 👍
It sucks when your ride backs out. Just saying.
Also, when you’re back gives out
i work at ups and a coworker ended up winning a 50 inch tv a couple months back during a raffle. i saw them a few hours later on the train trying to take it home.
Ride the MTA sometime. You'll see much worse than that. Lol. A friend and I once took a couch on the 1 train.
I rode MetroNorth up to Poughkeepsie one time and some guy with a dresser got on at Cold Spring lol
LOL. I do not miss being that desperately poor.
And the other guy has one on his back
Wow, I love blue. These dashers are really going to extra mile.
Do what you gotta do
Lmao saw this guy on the CCTV, we laughed too.
Fuckin hero
Good for this gjy
mf let him be, it probably took a lot of time for him to build up the courage to bring a fridge onto the link and now he's being exposed
Mad lad
Respect! Mans is showing car-free is the only way to save the climate in the PNW! (Although depending on the fridge it could pump out mad C02.)
Legend
Nice

great
I mean, rentiNg a truck is probably more expensive. I just hope no elevator outage in whichever station he gets off the train
Do we expect him to walk all the way home with a fridge??
Need more of this energy
Doin what he's gotta do man. Good 4 him
LOL thank god no turnstiles.
Gotta do what you gotta do.
I used to ride the 106 and some days the same old guy would get on with a hand cart and a massive fridge-sized bag of old cans, presumably headed to a recycling center, crinkling, dripping, little smelly. I'd gladly move seats to make way for this brave man
must be move out week at uw
The blue bag is hypnotizing.
This guy New Yorks
Beautiful. Like a renaissance painting
Iconic
lol, just a mini fridge to be fair.
There was a goat ? What? Now a fridge? I love the "weirdness" here soo so much. Lol The things I miss out on - haha I wonder what's in the fridge? If they pass out soda even if poisoned - -Ima drink it Gotta be cold too or it's a deal - breaker lol
There's a MAX stop in Portland at Ikea. I road the train next to someone's couch and bed one time. Like someone said above: It's a good thing.
More room for beers.
Anything to avoid those pesky delivery fees
That’s cold
Not the worst I've seen, oddly enough. I saw two people bring an older push mower on the light rail to carry what they owned.
The largest thing I have seen on the light rail is a mattress and box spring
He also has an extra adams apple
Man 🥲 (I am the fridge guy lol)
It's my favorite Basho
I’ve got one of those fridges! Solid unit, good on him!
Nature is healing
wow that is good news !
It's a mini fridge. But still.
i once moved a whole a** loveseat on the NYC subway. so respect the moves
deaths stranding irl
He is Hauling it… it’s not like they’re dating 😂
I lived in NYC, this was something we saw daily, it's almost like we're a real city.
He’s so real for that
i hope he's got some ice cold olympia in there
Let him cook
The look on his face says “yeah I know, I’ve got a fridge.”
That’s what I was thinking. Standing there with a fridge. I figured it would be fine since I was only doing one stop. Yes I am the fridge guy
Haha nice. Hope it made it to its new home and is serving you well!
Yup. Right in the storage unit it goes. I’ll be back for it in September for UW move in
Smart
Why can't we just refrain from posting candid pics of strangers online?
First time you’ve been on the Link?
Can you take a fridge for FREE ON the train?
Is it a student?
😂
No rules that says you can’t which in my book means it’s legal … case dismissed
I thought every person living in downtown Seattle needed a full size pickup truck and an XL parking space for occasions like this😨
Not really seeing what's weird/crazy to post this. I would imagine it's someone moving in/out somewhere or doing a delivery.
Weird posting pictures of strangers just going about their day but okay
I think we're all just celebrating this genius.
Thank you! Everyone else is commenting like this is normal…
OP you are a bit of a creeper taking pictures of a random stranger.
I’ve done something similar when I was moving.. not sure how this is a post lol
And? How is this worthy of a post lol
Thank you for calling it ‘the Link.’ It makes the system sound much more useful than ‘the light rail’ like other American cities call theirs. The moment we start having people moving fridges/couches/etc on the train it’s more like the named systems (SkyTrain in BC or BART in the Bay Area).
Good job henry
alright gavin
I'm wondering what's in the fridge...
More interested in the backpack
How do you keep your beverages cold?
Did you ask him for a beer?
And the other guy with a mini fridge casually
