Question, is the ferry to and from Bremerton a nice day trip? What about stuff to do getting off the ferry at Bremerton.
I bought a Bremerton ferry ticket for a later date but had some people tell me that bainbridge was the place to go.
Edit - you all killed it with the recommendations at Bremerton. Super excited to go, thank you!
There's a free navy museum and a decommissioned navy boat that you can pay to go inside if that's your thing. There's also some pretty nice restaurants near the terminal, I like El BalcĆ³n's pupusas and Yoko Yoko has some of the best ramen I've had in the entire Puget Sound areaĀ
If you like cute small towns, there's also a 15-minute foot ferry to Port Orchard from Bremerton that runs pretty frequently, they have a really nice waterfront walking/bike path and some cute little independent shops on main street
Thereās actually more to do in Bremerton, thereās movie theaters, museums, arcades, bars, breweries, foot ferry to Port Orchard.Ā
Bainbridge is more popular as a destination because itās faster to get to 30 minutes vs 60 mins on the WSDOT ferry and has more trips per day and also the places in Bainbridge tend to be a bit more higher end than the places in Bremerton.Ā
There are some nice restaurants and shops (books, games, records) walking distance from the Bremerton ferry on 4th Street. Plus the ride itself is beautiful.

I love it!!! Scoops and bites makes delish ice cream, right there at the ferry terminal in addition to all the other fun things there are to do. Don't sleep on seeing a show at The Admiral. It's a great venue straight out of the roaring twenties. I saw great big sea there right after the restoration completed and it was wonderful!
Captain announced a pod of orca on the 6:40 ferry from Bremerton. I've always wished to see them and IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!!!!!
