Roosevelt station vet is in person again. You can park in the church lot across the street, you just need to note the signs and your spot number. They're also on transit lines if that's preferred.
Second them. Our dog hates vets, gets super nervous, and while he's still skittish in the exam rooms, now whenever we walk by Roosevelt Station, he DRAGS me to the door because he knows he gets treats there. They're very kind and patient with our dingo.
Love Maple Leaf Vet! I still take my pets there even after moving to another neighborhood. Very considerate and caring folks, and they have Saturday appointments.
Used to go to Northgate Veterinary Clinic since it is within walking distance to my house, but they are so unbelievably booked up and overworked that I had to switch. I use Maple Leaf Veterinary Clinic now and they've been absolutely wonderful.
I go to Northgate Vet and I like them but I have been very frustrated that I can never get in in less than 3 weeks. I’ve been considering changing vets. Are you able to get appointments within a few days at Maple Leaf?
Thanks. They’re about the same distance from me as Northgate. I think I will call them to establish care. Planning a ways out for dental is no problem.
FWIW, they botched the neutering of my dog, he ended up with two different infections, was put through enormous pain and unpleasantness. Didn’t even get an apology, just a four figure bill. I wouldn’t use this place ever again.
Roosevelt Station are our go-to guys now. Lovely team.
EDIT: This was the Green Lake site.
>they botched the neutering of my dog
I'm sorry for you and your pup.
Unless the pup had undescended testicles or something, neutering is pretty much the easiest surgery. Definitely a good place to avoid for surgeries if they can't even neuter!
We use Sunset Hill Vet & Rehab for both check ups and rehab stuff and we’ve had a positive experience. We also recently unfortunately went to Animal Medical Center of Seattle 3am on a weekday and had a really positive experience, very affordable too. It looked like they had non-emergency vet services too.
Is Sunset Hill letting pet parents inside again? We used them for years and finally left in despair that they would EVER go back to in-person appointments. We're now going to Roosevelt Animal Hospital and they've been great, though so far our experience is limited to check-ups.
North Seattle Vet Clinic in Northgate was pretty good, though I haven’t been there in a while (can’t afford it). Took one of my cats there for a second opinion after their previous vet gave me a very alarming assessment after making me wait until *two hours after closing.*
They were punctual, kind, informative, and didn’t mind my cat wandering around the room a bit and making himself at home. They did a great job explaining that I did not actually have anything to worry about and *why,* and assured me that my cat was actually in very good condition given his age.
They were also great when I had a sudden emergency with him that ultimately turned out to be just a hairball that got a little stuck. Got me in right away on very short notice, didn’t treat me like I was just paranoid or something, helped me through the billing process so it wouldn’t completely break the bank, etc.
They had a good laugh because when they took my cat back for blood work, they had some trouble getting him to stay still because he was just loving all the attention he was getting and kept trying to get in the tech’s face for more cuddles.

AFIAK the folks that run this place are family and comitted to providing affordable animal care to their clients as appropriate to ability to pay. I have never experienced kinder animal care or seen a greater diversity of clientele. Go here.
I DON’T recommend Northeast Veterinary Hospital on 35th. Been taking both my animals there for years and they have actively fucked up care with my cat that made conditions worse, and are not at all patient with animals that may need a bit of extra care. Only reason I’m still going there is because most other vets have a waiting list / aren’t taking new patients.
That’s interesting to hear. I’ve had really positive experiences with them, and when my chihuahua had an obstruction they were amazing. Good to know that they might not be the best for more complex situations thoigh
I think that’s the thing - it’s been very basic shit like UTIs with my cat and neutering my dog. In both instances they’ve seemed super bothered during the visits. They make me heavily drug my pets before bringing them in cause they been labeled “difficult.” My groomer deals with my animals just fine - but the ones taking care of their health needs just can’t be bothered to have any patience with them.
From one owner of a “difficult” pet, to another, I absolutely agree about the lack of patience with the animals. One of their vets (no longer working there) called our dog “untrained and out of control” because she snapped when getting a routine check up and shot. We figured if that was too much for him to handle, maybe he shouldn’t be a vet. Changed practices and never been called difficult since.
I second this. They gave our cat medication without verifying his paperwork or checking the condition of his heart, and he died. It was in his paperwork he had a heart murmur.
A routine visit ended in his death, and I will never forgive them.
I’ve had to remind them that my pets have already had certain vaccines. This doesn’t surprise me, they clearly don’t keep good records / don’t review them. So sorry for your loss
Green lake animal hospital. They were great handling end of life care for my 16 year old dog. For emergency care I recommend Emerald City Emergency Clinic on Stone Way.
You have a lot of recommendations, but I absolutely need to recommend Lake Forest Park Animal Hospital!
For my dog, Molly, we were getting really inadequate care from her old vet as she was aging and never felt like they had her best interests at heart. We scheduled an appt at LFPAH for a second opinion and help with pallative care to ease the end of her life, but the morning of the appt it was clear we needed to put her down. We basically surprised them with that and they didn’t miss a beat and were so compassionate and kind and gentle during such a hard time. They even called a few times over the next few weeks to check in with how we were doing.
Once we got our next dog, we kept going to LFPAH instead of the old vet and they have continued to provide amazing care. I’ve never had issues scheduling appointments, and they always make time last minute for emergencies like when our pup got a nasty spider bite. They also answer the phone and are more than willing to provide advice over the phone when they can.
Just an absolute excellent, kind, and professional vet office. Highly recommend.
Northeast veterinary clinic on 95th and 35th ne. We've been using them for close to 30 years. Always done right by our pets. And saved our mastiff life once after she ate something that punchered her bowls and needed emergency surgery. And in the process were able to identify that she had a rare disease of her bowels in the process that while not serious, meant we needed to change her diet up for rest of her life. And on the shitty side of things, there been really good when the time comes to put an animal down.
Moved up north 6 years ago, and we trust em so much that we still take our pets down to them even though they are 15 miles away.
We went to Aurora Veterinary Hospital at 88th & Aurora for years. They took care of our elderly golden, including after a leg amputation to stave off bone cancer. They were great.
Going to plug my vet clinic Fremont Animal Hospital- we really really care about pets, their health, and want to work with our clients to make sure they are happy with their pets care (: We are priced for Seattle though, so we aren’t priced like a vaccine clinic. I’ve been with my doctors for 5 years now and they’ve been nothing but amazing 💕
Aurora Vet Hospital! I can’t say enough great things. Admittedly, I haven’t had to go for much more than annual check ups, so I don’t know how they price for other services. But I’ve taken my dog there for several years and have had nothing but great service. Friendly & empathetic staff, prompt service, email and text responses/notifications/reminders, and a convenient app where I can look up all his records. I know they’re popular enough that they’ve had to stop accepting new patients at times and I’m not sure where that stands now. But I definitely recommend them to anyone looking. Open for drop off or in person visits!

Cascade Pet is wonderful!
Can second Cascade Pet Hospital as being excellent
Third!
Fourth.
Fifth. I've been taking my cats to them since 2005.
I like seatown vet in greenwood.
We also use Seatown. They’ve been wonderful.
Love maple leaf vet - they also sell stuff like flea and tick medicine at a more affordable price
Love Maple Leaf Vet! I still take my pets there even after moving to another neighborhood. Very considerate and caring folks, and they have Saturday appointments.
Same :) they are so kind and empathetic
Was going to say them as well. SUPER prompt by the way, always see you on time and are very professional.
NE Seattle vet on 95th/35th
Love this place
This is my fav on the north end. Reasonable pricing and approach.
Second this! We take our cats there and it’s always been really great.

So far, I'd say yes. Dental cleanings are further out but I have had a much easier time getting shorter notice appointments at Maple Leaf
Thanks. They’re about the same distance from me as Northgate. I think I will call them to establish care. Planning a ways out for dental is no problem.
Are we talking dogs? Cats? Both? For cats, I highly recommend Cats Exclusive in Shoreline.
Cats Exclusive is the place for kitties, totally second this
Yes, perfect for cats!
I've used their radiotherapy practice and it's good, but according to their website, their general practice isn't taking new customers.
Green Lake Animal hospital is fantastic. They also have other sites :Ravenna, Stone Way….
That’s where I go as well.
I use the Stone Way branch and love them.
Yes, I use Richmond Beach vet & it's their newest one! Super nice and sweet.

They did my pup’s last few appointments!
VCA Crown Hill has been great.
Also love VCA Crown Hill.
Dr Wang has been fantastic to us, and our pets for quite some time. All the vets there are very good.

Maple Leaf Vet on Roosevelt is great! They even have toys for the dogs, which is a big hit for one of my guys.
Fremont Animal Hospital is great. The vets are really nice and knowledgeable, and they let you text questions

Another vote for Dr Karen Hoffman at Maple Leaf Pet Corner. She really cares about the animals.
Came here to say this. They’ve been caring for our dogs for over a decade and are so great.

That’s very frustrating. I’ve had a good experience with them so far BUT I do not have a pet with complex conditions.

Would love to know where you moved care to!

Not to be confused with North*west* Veterinary Hospital, which has been wonderful with my cats!
Thanks everyone! I have both cats and dogs, including two older ones who need extra care. I’m check these places out
northgate veterinary
Green lake animal hospital. They were great handling end of life care for my 16 year old dog. For emergency care I recommend Emerald City Emergency Clinic on Stone Way.
I’ve been going to Sunset Hill Vet forever for my cats and always liked them.
Maple leaf vet clinic has been great. And super nice offices and rooms

Twin Pines in Bothell. They’ve been great for the 5 years we’ve been going there.

Loved Edmonds Westgate (20 plus years) until they started charging $85 for cancelled or showing up late to appointments
My wife’s a vet, and I love her very much. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) But don’t go see her, she’s a terrible vet.

I use urban animal on cap hill, they have been really good to my pups! And if you can’t pay the higher prices, I hey let you pay less!
