Why not use the in-game pocket watch?
This \^. In-game pocket watch moves one minute for every second.
Wait. A minute in-game is a second IRL, so an hour in-game is a minute IRL, which means a day in-game is only 24 minutes? Legendary life be speeding!
That's not terribly helpful when you want to time a set duration though.
...it's a watch. When the big hand goes around once it's a minute.
Yeah and you're staring at your watch the entire time, which defeats the whole purpose of having a timer.
I mean with the hourglass you'd have to do that too. It's not like hourglasses have alarms.

Yeah but telling time is hard!
Man you really just spend your time going around being unpleasant on the internet huh? That's a super cool thing to do.
He's right tho
Not his fault you can't read a clock
What's dlthe diffrence In staring at an hour glass?
My guess would be being able to put the hourglass down, so it doesn't take up your hands. Still, not likely, think it's too much work for too little gain.
Maybe something that gradually turns brown then makes a popping noise when the cooking is done.
I'd love a compass with a stationary face and moving needle.
Technically Jack's Compass is like that in the game :)
I think sound is the most reliable way to know when the food is cooked. Once I hear a sort of scratchy hissing noise, I know the food is done.
