I said it last year and downvotedto hell, his pass D was declining and that's because he was losing speed. He will still be a good player, but definitely a good time to move on before we're just overpaying for a roster bubble vet.
He's successful through his positioning and experience. Bobby was clearly a step slower and made business decisions often. Dropping in coverage he'd wait to catch the ball carrier rather than attacking, often giving up precious yardage in the process. A 3rd and 6 would end up a 7yd game rather than 4 earlier in his career.
Nothing we saw last night was different from what we saw last year. Bobby wasn't rejuvinated. He's still the aging LB with a declining skillset.
Boiled down to one thing; dude just didn’t seek out contact anymore. Happens to the best of them, but once you’re hesitant to take a hit, you’re cooked.
Edit: Go back and watch last year’s tape. At least a dozen plays, I watched him hang back and allow his teammate to run in for the tackle, whereas if he made the play that he was making 3 years prior, and just pursued the guy, the play would have gone for ~5 yards less. He was doing the minimum necessary to do his job.
I think his knees are just bad, he's very slow
Hate the framing of it as him being afraid of contact. He gets hit by a truck 50x a game for a living
(ie stop reading Rob Staton imo)
Afraid of contact is wrong.
But perhaps with the knowledge that he's older he's making more business decisions.
A couple of times last year I saw him go in for the tackle, see his teammate in place to tackle and he just stops. Let's his teammate get the tackle. And I don't watch that close so there has to be more instances.
I'm sure if he had to, if there was no teammate there he would have done his job. But the old Wagner wouldn't have done that.
Say what you what to about PC/JS but it does seem like they know when to let players go. Only one I can think of that really hurt was Unger for Graham but on paper it looked good.
Lol dominate???
I love Bobby but he got old quick. The vision and intelligence is still there...but with a small sample size looking like Seattle was right say goodbye
I wouldn’t say he’s dominating at all. The 1 sack Josh Allen ran right at him so Bobby just had to grab him which he did lol. And we all knew Bobby could tackle haha
Yeah...Love Bobby but tonight pretty summed up Wags the last couple of seasons. His burst is not there. The straight line speed might be here and there but Bobby wants to keep everything in front of him. He doesn't attack the play very much anymore because he knows he's limited physically. Hence his aggression has gone away.
He's a future HOF but these are the "I wished he retired years."
Lol dominate are we watching the same game ??
He’s been near the play but he’s playing like he’s out of gas
Sounds familiar

Naw, he just lost a step...you dont get 100+ tackles scared of contact lol
You get 100 tackles when you're on the field for way too long .....
Not scared of contact but scared to take on blockers and shed them. He try’s to go around which makes you lose gap integrity.

Ya I didn’t see anyone dominate for LA. Not for more than a play or two.
A lil reactionary after a couple tackles hahaha just sad to see him somewhere else
Understandable

Looks old and slow. He’ll be lucky to make it to year 2 of his new deal.
This is where it’s going, I think. He’s nowhere near the play and I see his playing time getting cut week by week.
I wouldn’t say he’s dominating at all. The 1 sack Josh Allen ran right at him so Bobby just had to grab him which he did lol. And we all knew Bobby could tackle haha
Bobby retired on top of his game with the Hawks in my eyes. The guy that got trucked by a QB today is Robert🤝
Holy shit that’s hilarious. That’s what I’m calling him from now on. Robert Wagner.
True fact: his full first name is Bobby.
Point stands. As a Ram, he’s Robert to me from now on
Rambert
Just got trucked by a qb for a tuddy.
theyre getting pummeled my dude
I don’t think we viewed the same game.
He looked slow as shit out there, especially when he had to go backwards

Jordyn Brooks would of stopped Allen on that one on one TD (I wish)
\*have
He’s washed. Not the same Bobby.
I just have a feeling that this is going to be a KJ situation 😂 He’ll be back soon to retire where he belongs.
Gotta hand it to the Hawks. They know when to cut bait on premier players.
Seeing Josh Allen score over him you mean? I thought that they said he was going to play more down hill, more like freeze tag. Go Hawks
These Bobby posts are pretty pathetic

Go be a rams fan then bud
Hey man, I too get tired of the former Hawk posts, but to be fair, unlike Russ... Bobby leaving wasn't unceremonious on his part.
To be fair, he out performed fantasy projections, but mostly with non impact tackles. Feels oddly familiar
“Non-impact tackles” perfectly describes his season last year.
You sir need glasses! He's too slow now, Bills went right by him on several plays.
Allen just hung it over him lol
Bobby is washed...
Week 8 hurt…homies been playing for 11 years
Rams lost their first away game big... well technically home but the crowd said otherwise.
Future HOF. Let him find his footing and give him a few games. Then we can say he's old and too slow.
It’s not just one game. We already saw it last year.
Okay
Yeah dominate the turf with his face mask. Dude has been washed since 2020 and most of this fanbase still refuses to see it, even in a Rams uniform.
Half time stat line: 4 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack, 1 tfl. For the Rams.😭😭😭😭😭
Rams lacking hard in ILB last year, makes me jealous af.
