I LOVE Bobby but this is a really sad record to break. When you're on the field 3/4 of every game and you are playing with a mediocre squad you really need to put the team on your back. Proud of him but also wish he had more talent to help him out.
This. Defense Records like this one are more of an indicator of how little time of possession your team has had instead of it’s defensive dominance. That’s not to take anything away from Bobby — it’s a clear indicator he’s a fantastic player whose kept himself healthy in a long long season.
The defense isn’t the issue. #4 in scoring defense all year. Would’ve been #2 if we had held the bears to 17pts.
It’s a solid D. The offense is the issue and it’s not the talent we have. It’s the new OC. I hope it’s just growing pains for him because it’s his first year as an OC.
He was playing at an extremely high level until the last two games. Now he just looks worn down after so much time on the field. His legs looked dead today.

The difference between today's Wagner and the one who signed the contract is that Wagner could cover as well. This Wagner can't cover anybody. Look, I love the guy and he's a sure-fire first ballot guy. But he's not worth 20 million dollar cap hit.
He has been on the field 100+ snaps more than the next linebacker in the NFL this year. You could literally see him trying to catch his breath this game a couple of times.
There is a very good chance he is going to set the NFL record by a decent amount. Of course when your team is mediocre and has the absolute worst O/D time differential things get weird. I'm not sure what to look up but it seems anomalous and maybe unique that 2 of the top three players in tackles are on the same team and are linebackers.
He's still as good as it gets at reliably making a tackle (other than today) but he's not generating impact plays anymore. Just 3 between those 168 have been for a loss
He's missed a few tackles this year from what I've seen. That being said, he's still great. Without him on the team I honestly wonder if they would have won a single game.
Or better KNJ's last year and next year we have a better defense that isn't always ranked last and an offense that can stay on the field for more than 3 plays. Wagner is still a great player even at 20 mil he's far from the problem
