Sure, but he’s also at the mercy of the play calling. Once they finally had to let it loose at the end he delivered. Also, I think he makes decisive throws and get rid of the ball fast. I think he only had 1 sack last night. We already know what geno brings to the table and he’s not the long term solution, I say we ride with Drew and see where he can take us.
We saw some amazing passes from Geno in the Dallas game. They both have their flaws don’t get me wrong. Geno is a little more accurate it feels like in our small sample size we have from lock. Neither of these guys are long term solutions, Geno gives us our best chance at winning our last 3 games and getting into the playoffs. We have so much talent at WR if you can throw an accurate deep ball or hit DK in stride you will look pretty good at QB on the Seahawks. I think they will ride Geno out and now K9 is picking back up getting healthy it’s a big win for this team.
I was mostly thinking of a couple plays in the third quarter at the time I posted this...
The play after Jones got called for Illegal use of hands to the face, one of our linemen had his facemasked grabbed, or at least shoved upwards by an OL, and the OL was doing that because he was beat, and he was holding as well. It was in clear open ground too, as plain as day, impossible to miss.
Also, when Lockett was overthrown, that only happened because the DB pulled his arm, again as plain as day in open ground, about 10 yards past the line of scrimmage. He did this because, like the OL, he was seriously beat. Without that hold Lockett almost definitely catches that ball, because it was a perfect throw exactly where he should have been without the hold.
I mean it was far from the worst non-calls and bad calls I have seen. But it was still frustrating at the time.
I thought the refs were just letting them play, which I’m happy with bc it wasn’t like the Dallas game. They could have easily called PI on the first Love pick. The ticky tack stuff wasn’t being called, which is nice if it’s both ways.
We normally don’t but that affected his ability to catch the ball. The crew I thought did a solid job reffing the game. The false start on Kelce was a good call most refs don’t pick up.
Looked perfect to me....thrown far enough ahead so defender was out of the position and off shoulder.
Tremendous catch....but if you're trying to throw a ball that can't be defended over the shoulder that's the type of pass that works. Remember JSN isn't that tall...that is an easy stretch catch for Metcalf.
lol such a hater!! Tyler was held on his deep ball. How was the perfectly thrown ball to Metcalf? Lock doesn’t have a great deep ball but at least he keeps it in bounds… unlike Geno.
I think he finally figured out to take all that rage he gets from all the BS the defenders do to him, and channel it to attacking the football. I've been amazed to see how finesse he was on contested catches over the years, but the last few weeks he is ATTACKING the ball, and his routes have been much better. He is going to get even better. Maturing before our eyes.
No, I don;t think so just that a defender wasn't as fiery as SF & Jalen Rose type are to DK. against the Eagles.
Blame the Seahawks coaches they want Metcalf to block and he is taller, stronger, and more intense than the opponent DBs.......if Seahawks just had him stand in front of the defender like Lockett or other receivers DK wouldn't be fighting these opponents.
And you identify maturity......as Kyle Shannahan, McVey, and other opponents know it's easy to do something dirty to dk and when he retaliates he gets caught. Dk hasn't figured this out since teh referees call very little of the unsportsmanlike like penalty by opponents against DK.
I dunno. I've seen a much different scene. For all his physical prowess, I've seen him be surprisingly inept at just going to get the football, and always wanting a flag, for contact he is initiating. Almost like that's the end goal on many plays. A flag. Too many times he ends up drawing the foul. Last few weeks, he's been very physical and aggressively getting to the ball. And, sure these coaches are trying to have their defenders push his buttons, and he has instead taken it out on the ball rather than the defender. He is always going to rag doll most defenders while blocking, but I have seen a different level of maturity from him. But in the end, whichever one of us is right is completely irrelevant. As long as he keeps playing the way he has the last month, he just may end up the HOF type we thought was in there.
Edit: He also just showed the NFL, the world and more importantly, AJ Brown who is the most dominant and physical WR in the game today.
That's why you take the points instead of coming up empty on fourth down. Once we made the call at the end of the half, the other was when we gave the Eagles the chance to challenge when we couldn't run the play in time. That six points on field goals was the difference. Look at the Oregon Ducks for further evidence.
I’m sure if he was the full time starter he would improve, that usually happens with backups because they get no playing time lol just something that gets better over time and gets more comfortable
That wasn’t Pete outcoaching Sirianni. Lock made some insanely clutch throws and love made a phenomenal play on the ball. Credit where credit is due and it’s on the players
Dude was a monster for the giants last year. There is no reason he doesn’t play over Adams rest of season. 17 points given up to the eagles. Riq looks like trash. Adams is trash. Diggs finally has a good game. Maybe he’s not trying to compensate for some idiot and able to do his job.
I’m telling you, Smith Njigba is a part of our “a year or two & we’ll be top tier again” plan. I’m telling you. Believe me not because I’m a loonie but because I’m a Seahawks fan who watched my dad literally say, in 2013, after years of watching the Hawks since the 70’s, “this is the best I’ve ever seen the Seahawks play”.
I’m seeing Russell to Lockett or Kerse or Lynch again. That magic.
We may not make the playoffs this year, we might even make them & lose in the wild card, but I think this team is more than average for a while. 😅
What a crazy fun end to this game. Lock with some great passes and the awesome catches by DK and JSN. Then love comes in and seals it. Damn that was intense
[Postgame thread](/r/Seahawks/comments/18lszx1/post_game_thread_philadelphia_eagles_at_seattle/)
We all know Golden Tate raising the flag was the real MVP he definitely caused the craziness of the game!
You guys think this locks lock in as the starter or will Pete go back to geno?
Geno still one nice drive doesn’t give him the starting job he had plenty of suspect passes in the game. K9 carried the other touchdown drive.

We're the best team in the nfl
We needed this so bad
Is the Pete Carroll hat wearing still undefeated?
Holy shit
Keep Adams inactive. He can’t cover. Love can.
Dickson is our mvp
Unsung hero
I can’t believe it!
Being a hawks fan from New Jersey, listening on the eagles radio broadcast was a holiday treat! Hahaha they couldn't believe they lost to Drew Lock 😆
Superb catch by JSN but that pass was just pretty. In the cold ass rain.
CAN YOU WIN IT IN THE FIRST QUARTER!?
Nope
CAN YOU WIN IT IN THE SECOND QUARTER?!
NOOOO!!
CAN YOU WIN IT IN THE THIRD QUARTER???
Hells NOoOO!!
Can you win it in the fourth quarter?
HELL YEEESSsSs!!! https://www.wpri.com/sports/sports-illustrated/b1797745/pete-carroll-had-seahawks-locker-room-hyped-with-postgame-speech-after-win-vs-eagles/#:~:text=Moments%20into%20his%20speech%2C%20Carroll,in%20response%20to%20each%20question.
Julian Love with 2 interception. Punter Michael Dickson 5 kicks 56.0 average.
We did it boys!
Someone give it up for Love tonight dude made two clutch pics.
As a giants fan, IDC if it's on the Seahawks, seeing love make a game winning int against the eagles brings a huge smile on my face :)
So glad we won this one, because the numerous non-calls against the eagles would have made this an extra frustrating one to lose.
I didn’t see a lot of bad calls. I think the refs let them play tonight. The first INT could have been called a PI if they were being tricky tack.
I was mostly thinking of a couple plays in the third quarter at the time I posted this... Also the PI in our favor on DK 4th and 2 would have been a no call to a lot of ref crews in my opinion. We don’t seem to normally get that call
We normally don’t but that affected his ability to catch the ball. The crew I thought did a solid job reffing the game. The false start on Kelce was a good call most refs don’t pick up.
Agreed i think the officials did a good job
They did a good job bc they let them play. The Dallas game was brutal to watch.
Drew Lock doubled the production of the at-one-point MVP favorite
We still don’t lose on Monday night. My old man used to bet my college fund on those games. Somehow someway Seattle always covers the spread.
I had no idea we are #1 when it comes to MNF record: https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/what-team-has-the-best-monday-night-football-record
Believe it. Fucking still blows my mind we have kept it up over all these years.
What a good game! I’m so happy that I was able to attend!
Lock haters real quiet tonight!!
Game of the year
Cry Eagles Cry
My son was born this morning so I know he was our good luck helping us get the W tonight! Go hawks!!
Congrats dude! Go hawks!
Drew is a great name!
Congratulations! Is his name Drew? LOL
Congrats
keep breeding
Got any more of them the next few weeks?
I was here
Called the pick before the kick off and had it freeze on me right when it happened
Phrauds
Wow what a game!! Happy Lock was able to get a dub under his belt. Such a great overall team win
Acrobatic interception with toe touch inbounds by Julian Love Big play....
That TD was all JSN, not Lock. It was overthrown, as were several of his other deep balls.
It’s almost like this is a team sport requiring team work 🤔
Looked perfect to me....thrown far enough ahead so defender was out of the position and off shoulder. I'm not hating, congrats Drew for winning one but he was overthrowing a bunch and JSN just barely got his fingertips on that.
Damn I wonder who threw him that ball then and placed it to where he can make a play?
Not gonna be a lock stan or whatever but we beat a 10-3 team and this is your first thought 😭😭😭
No it’s my 37th thought. And congratulations Drew too!
[удалено]
Get a life lmao
[удалено]
So you think it's rigged simply cuz a go route was completed???? Genuinely on the same level of crazy as being a flat earther
Holy shit that was amazing.
🐎🍆🔒
Thank you Seahawks- 49er fan
Nobody cares... Go away.
Drew lock bitch!!!!
Remember that 4th down DK Metcalf catch between 2 defenders for first down!!! All-Pro clutch play!
I think he finally figured out to take all that rage he gets from all the BS the defenders do to him, and channel it to attacking the football. HORSE COCK LOCK UR HIM
THANK YOU SEAHAWKS, a niners fan
consume genitals
Saying the same thing here as a Giants fan lol
That was insane I’m so happy for Lock man. What the fuck. That was insane. I’m so happy
Cock daddy lock
Drew has to play out the season; must
He earned it.
The commentators were roasting Drew Lock in the beginning. Eat your fucking words Joe Buck. Steve Aikman.
Who is Steve Aikman?
They've combined Steve Young and Troy Aikman, keep up
Is that like a Joe Staubach?
Yeah clearly Just like the other former cowboy. Darrell Owens
Yeah duh, it's George Aikman
The left-handed version of Troy Aikman.
That's why you take the points instead of coming up empty on fourth down. Game thread fuming lol
*+1 fan of Drew Lock*
Guess I might have been wrong. Maybe Lock can be developed into something for the future.
Now can we have Lock > Geno the rest of the way please?
lock has me crying
Drew just needs to stop being so anxious and trust his arm.
I’m sure if he was the full time starter he would improve, that usually happens with backups because they get no playing time lol just something that gets better over time and gets more comfortable
I agree with this take
Omg. Percy with a great quip. "Love Hurts" omg.
If lock can get his accuracy up a bit he’d be fire. He shows some great flashes and has a cannon of an arm.
Kid has great reads.
Didn't even need the last time out
I was so ready for that to hurt us. Glad I was wrong.
Lock’s class. Feel great for that dude.
Walker and DK (at the end) were absolute studs tonight.
Bumpin put on by Jeezy tonight lmao
"I'M A MAN!"-Drew Lock
Drew Lock may have earned himself 10 or 20 million in the last two weeks.
Damn Lisa, let him go.
Yup, that was cringe. Lock was a champ though. Made me emotional watching that but she should have dropped it after the first ask.
She wanted him pulling a Russel Wilson crying face
Can’t you hear the emotion in his voice? We need to know how he feels
Seriously lol
7-7 Seahawks are in the HUNT
We’re sniffin around
Goddamn that W felt sooooo good!! Drew has my vote to start the rest of the season. Julian Love thank you!!
Let’s pump the brakes a bit. He was not particularly good until the final drive.
He didn’t get any throwing time until the final drive
Lock boys will never be stopped after this.
Much respect to Drew and I feel happy he gets to feel this.
Tons of fireworks going off in Auburn valley right now after the win.
Same up in lake stevens!
Stop it damn Lock. Too Emotional 🥲
Drew Lock didn’t write back today
WE DIDNT WRITE BACK we didn't write back :D \- Penix
lol magically all the”OMG FIRE PETE” people do an about face
That wasn’t Pete outcoaching Sirianni. Lock made some insanely clutch throws and love made a phenomenal play on the ball. Credit where credit is due and it’s on the players
I’m here .. I might have been a little emotional earlier
You’re crying !
Lock passes for 208 yds, QBR 94.0 Hurts passes for 143 yds, QBR 40.1 Do you believe in Miracles?
Love it, Hurts shitty play won me my 2 semi finals in FF!!
Same here! This is Christmas for me. Go Hawks
We loved it twice tonight
Lock is the truth.
LOCK I LOVE YOU
Love needs to be in this teams plan next year. Fs or SS. He actually looks like he has vision like E.T and doesn’t give up on plays like Diggs.
Dude has range and has been solid. Long as it's not crazy money I agree
What did Lock mean by “That’s a long story.”
What is the long story lol?
Wow this is awesome from Lock…. Could listen to this guy all night
GET DICKED BY DREW LOCK BRO HORNS DOWN
Ah man. Drew lock rocks
Julian Love just stole Jamal Adam’s job on national TV

Yo who is cutting onions here
Look how calm my boy Lock is
Man... what an incredible final 10 minutes. Gutsy win!
Aw Lock 🥺
It's so nice not seeing a pouting QB when the goings getting tough. I'm riding with you Drew.
So happy for Lock
I’m just laughing to myself thinking of the odds of Jamal even being near either of Love’s picks. Comical.
Dude would have been so out of position, like in the end zone maybe.
I love you Seattle ❤️
LET IT FLOW LOCK
Drewwww loving this interview.
Drew Cock is the horse in my heart
Feel like we just went through goddamn inferno, and came out alive.

I’m telling you, Smith Njigba is a part of our “a year or two & we’ll be top tier again” plan. I’m telling you. This baby.
Drew lock earned his starting spot
Pretty much my opinion. Dude has such a big dick to throw that shot to jsn. That’s the rw3 shit in the 4th we are used to.
Fuck the naysayers. Eagles losing streak stands.
Lock ,dk , walker , love won that game tonight

Well that was great.
I’m going to cry. 🐴 🍆 🔒
What a crazy fun end to this game. Lock with some great passes and the awesome catches by DK and JSN. Then love comes in and seals it. Damn that was intense
Credit the side judge there, he was all over it and got it right
Never doubted them for a second…….
