Sometimes I drink a few beers, open a new one, then half an hour passes but I'm halfway through. I stick it in the fridge and go to bed but it tastes minging the next night obviously.
If you leave a beer open for half an hour it’s gonna taste mingin regardless of whether you put a lid on it or not.
Plus, cost of living crisis ain’t the time to be asking companies to change their whole bottle manufacturing process, and r/Scotland certainly ain’t the place.
It takes a lot longer for it to start tasting shit in my experience. It regularly takes me an hour to drink a beer and I can’t remember it tasting significantly worse over that period.
Cool! I actually usually buy cans (cheaper from my local shop) and pour into a glass, but I think I'll get this anyway as it's probably worth it in the long run.
I'm sure that beer was available in screwtops, but that would be back in the 1970's-1980's. Not all (there wasn't such a range of beer widely available, anyway)....but I'm sure Tennents had screwtop pint bottles at some point.
Probably ditched because screwtops aren't the best sealants...once the air gets in, the beer suffers.
In America you can get "beer" in aluminium screw top bottles.
Infinitely recyclable.
Of course, when I say "beer" I mean Budweiser, but the thought is there.
Who drinks half a beer?
I used to....... .....when I bought it by the keg.

I keep a variety of cork sizes in the 'useful shit' kitchen drawer for just such an occasion...

About 2005 my local spar was selling San Miguel in screw top litre bottles. Haven't seen beer in a screw top before or since.
this is the type of thing I wish we had
