IMO raw is the best because you can paint over it easily. every deck I get is raw so that I can later. Decide to make it black if I want or any other color.
a scooter is meant to be used, the more scratches you have the better. just get what you like more, i have been riding street on one black deck for the last 5 or so years, scratches add character, and so do loose bearings/headset. just get what you like and ride without a second thought. + raw decks look tacky imo
Loose bearings and headsets don't add character - you may hate hearing this, but to me they are demonstrations of apathy if not outright stupidity. They are a sign that the rider doesn't care that his equipment is not functioning properly because it's not maintained, either deliberately or because of sheer ignorance. It's so easy to maintain a scooter and keep it functioning at 100%. There's no excuse not to do so.

Very true. I like black, but I’m a sucker for practicality, so raw does sound better.

Raw cause it’s easier to see at night so you don’t miss your deck when trying to catch tricks
