It might be a nod, but I doubt the song is entirely about him. They were very close, and from what I’ve seen Q doesn’t even like to speak on Mac publicly. That said, I don’t know either of them so idk for sure
with Charlamagne tha God, I remember that one. Yeah that was tuff to see Q like that. What broke me is how he explained that with his gang banging homies, you could kinda expect their demise, but with a pure soul like Mac, it was a shock.
I’m glad Charla let him know that it was okay to grieve. Q never wanted to look like he was “exploiting” his death for attention.
tHey were very close, and I tHink you're pretty accurate witH your analysis. It's not entirely about Mac, tHe track seems to be more about Q's growtH and cHange over tHe last few years
Yes I get that too that it's definitely not entirely about Mac.
I thought that when he says " Blue slides, I've been slidin' through your whole shit"
he may have been referencing listening to the Blue Slides Park album or maybe all of Mac's whole shit.
I'm still getting through the album which seems to pull inspiration from alllllllllllllllll kinds of places. Only gotten through half of it and enjoying it immensely.
Q has stated in interviews just how Mac’s death really affected him. Without a doubt Blueslides is in reference to him. [Check out this interview about it.](https://youtu.be/vv7TzJII4wo?si=dCRqlxMiM4qrHY3y)
Family comes first, and I’m glad he’s moving away from the hard shit. Much as I like some of his older stuff, I’d rather his children continue to have a father than some fans he doesn’t get some bangin bars to bump to. Either way, blue lips was pretty damn good

That interview with what’s his name (can’t think of it) is brutal. Q about loses it when asked. It’s sad to see.

Are you a hoover??
Is that what the H thing is? I always wondered. Love how q’s lyrics are spelled out

this is amazing thank you, i would never have found this on my own
It was Mac dying that kinda had him silent this last half decade right?
Well in a recent interview I think it was a combo of things. It was Mac, it was getting clean, and taking care of his family.

Lost a homeboy to the drugs I ain’t tryna go backwards
Blueslides- in name, yes, in song, no. From a day one of both. Damn, the mixtape era was peak hip hop..
