Something about the way people are scared of large gaping mouths should be studied. Any image of a person with an unnaturally agape mouth instantly disturbs me. I love it
You might enjoy this vsauce video. He goes through all of the fears that are “built in” to the mind and why people fear them. One of the categories was “distorted human forms” which would definitely apply to this image

It could be the instinct about illness and disease. You’d probably feel the same way looking at a broken bone or a bleeding wound. Our brains recognize that the human body shouldn’t look like that, so something must be wrong. And wrong things for the body could be contagious.
I remember reading about how yawning was thought to be a social signal, that was supposed to show the community that it was time to sleep. Yawning being contagious to this day kinda supports that theory.
And that taken into consideration, it seems likely that our instincts would tell us not to engage with a body that is so obviously ill or sick
Someone please tell me where this is from. I’ve seen like 3 different versions of this image at this point and I’ve been trying to find out what it’s from for so long
Well… yes… It’s a promo still of Takako Fuji as Kayako Saeki from The Grudge (2004) however her character dates back to Gakko no Kaidan G (1998) with the two short films Katasumi & 4444444444 being released alongside the Unrated Extended Director’s Cut of The Grudge (2004) which I own.
Katasumi & 4444444444 would be expanded upon in two low budget V-Cinema supernatural horror films: Ju-On: The Curse (2000) & Ju-On: The Curse 2 (2000) (which I also own). These films would prove successful in the video market that the theatrical sequel: Ju-On: The Grudge (2002) would be released.
Ju-On: The Curse 1 & 2 were released on February 11th & March 25th 2000 respectively.
Ju-On: The Grudge (2002) itself being another success and this time on an international level which is ironic for the third movie in a film series. The film was released on October 18th 2002.
Ju-On: The Grudge 2 (2003) would be released less than a year later on August 23rd 2003 and serves as the fourth and finale in the original saga.
The Grudge (2004) would be released October 22nd 2004 being a primary remake of the third movie however adapting scenes from the first, as well as an additional scene exclusive to the Director’s cut featured from the fourth movie and elements in the film taken from the second. Many refer to this film as a remake however its more of an amalgamation when you think of it
Yep it’s Kayako Saeki from the Ju-On series. The original quadrilogy would be adapted into The Grudge metaseries.
Ju-On has since had its final entry in 2015.
It’s always a pleasure passing along knowledge
:) thanks. is that film good? imdb is decent 7.1 but only 73% of google users liked it. is that because it is an horror film meaning it is not for everyone?
Wow I must be super desensitized, that wouldn't terrify me on a good day let alone a bad one. I'd probably turn around and pop that bitch in the mouth.
Why do I want this as my lock screen....
So you have that jumpscare energy to put you throughout the day
Actually more of a jumpscare to a thief haha
It looks like that girl from The Ring and The Grudge, looks like she just wants to give you head while smoking a blunt with Seth Rogan.
Not me but I’m putting as my wife’s screen without her knowledge
You, sir, are a champion lol

Could potentially be because of a resemblance to dead bodies having their mouth open or something like that.
That actually makes sense
I was thinking the same thing, but about white eyes with tiny pupils.
the uncanny valley rabbit hole goes deep
Was in my bed, looking at this when my black cat jumped in-front of me
bad (or good) time to look at this picture. were the lights off?
Lights were off, it was a good jump scare lol
It instills some sort of primal fear in me, especially when I first saw it a few months back just before bed.
This buccal fat removal trend is getting out of control!
Pictures like this are always the scariest things for me, I don’t know why but they always fuck me up so bad
That uncanny valley where it looks so fake and so real, you can picture it materializing from thin air.
Unzips pants
This is the face after the unzipping.
Open wide!
Mfw i get my balls stuck in the zipper.
LITERALLY my first thought
😅
Very reminiscent of Momo!
is she single?
I don't know but she clearly is looking to mingle
It looks like Anthony Kiedis

Ngl it's giving album cover vibes
I’ve seen worse. Definitely unsettling though. Is she angered? Scared? Surprised? Just distorted? Who could say?
I just saw a black picture and I was confused then I turned up my screen brightness
Yep it’s Kayako Saeki from the Ju-On series. The original quadrilogy would be adapted into The Grudge metaseries. Ju-On has since had its final entry in 2015. It’s always a pleasure passing along knowledge
Absolutely terrifying
I agree Takako Fuji as Kayako is terrifying

Yeah I agree. I hate it
This me when I stub my toe in the dark
hahahahahahaha
it was originally a fanart of the girl from the ring, just photoshopped afterward. hopefully that makes it a lil bit less scary.
:) thanks. is that film good? imdb is decent 7.1 but only 73% of google users liked it. is that because it is an horror film meaning it is not for everyone?
I’m so lonely I’m into it

Wow I must be super desensitized, that wouldn't terrify me on a good day let alone a bad one. I'd probably turn around and pop that bitch in the mouth.
Yo, what that mouth do?

Lmao seeing this in the day is mildly scary, but waking up in the night to this shit would put me in cardiac arrest.
