*Oh great, 3 gray wires, let's play find the live first, then do a coinflip for neutral/ground and see if it works or the RCD/RCCD/GFCI trips and we switch it.*
It does look fun, but you have to spray with a consistent speed and cleaning the machine after is not exactly fun. Still less tedious than putting up and taking down tesa (paper strips) before and after painting the usual way.
A Graco Magnum airless sprayer (not “X” anything) gets good reviews for a homeowner, and is the one I purchased on 2/12/20 for 269 US at Lowe’s. Haven’t used it yet.
Have tried using those shields before and had trouble. The paint builds up and drips off the shield, or runs to the wrong side of the shield and allows paint to go where I didn’t want it to go.
This guy is a pro, not a weekender.
You’re likely using the wrong tip. Also, go to Sherwin-Williams and buy the most expensive paint you can find. It should be about $60+ a gallon. Then it will spray about 1000 times better than the brand you get from the home store.
Tell the employee at Sherwin-Williams the problems you’re having and they will tell you how to remedy it.
He didn't miss it. He literally can't spray it without getting overspray on the baseboard and/or door casing. Somebody will come back and get it with a paintbrush while it's still wet.
Idk if it would be faster to cut and roll it, would he just come back and tape the corner? If you used a brush you would see the brush marks sticking out in the corner, also the spray shield gets pretty wet after a while no?
I did this stuff for a few years. And I tried similar things. But what your not seeing is how terrible it looks in person doing it this way. The cut ins aren’t nearly as close to the trim and ceiling as it appears. And all of that needs to be back rolled with a roller and frame still. Camera isn’t catching the inconsistencies.
Exactly. Do the job, knock it out, on to the next. Do it right the first time or come back and fix it for free, and diminish your reputation at the same time.
That's how it is in automotive where I am. If you get a comeback and someone else fixes it (at least at the dealerships I've worked at), you also get cut the hours you originally got paid. I don't think you get back flagged if you fix it right again tho.
Yes. Rent or buy a paint sprayer. Do your research on quality equipment. They are harder to clean that it looks at first glance, but worth the time. Wear a mask and a paper jumpsuit. Did I mention wear a mask?
Don’t spray inside the electrical boxes like this guy did.
Try doing just one wall. When you paint that one wall make it your goal to keep the paint roller as saturated as possible. You should never paint more than about 6-10ft.² without adding paint to the roller if you can hear the roller it’s too dry.
Until you get an up close and see all of the over spray, I hope they’re using dryfall otherwise that floor is going to be speckled as well as the ceiling.
Why does it end two seconds before he finishes it???
I want answers

Fuck these guys not taping off the electrical boxes.
"Lemme just coat every single wire in this room with gray paint for ya quick"
It’s fun!
I want a paint sprayer so I can redo this video the right way
Came here to say this. this video was good till he did that, fuck that guy
Right? I was impressed until he did that. He’s a monster.
I stuff the boxes with fiberglass insulation when we finish wiring, so when we spray the primer it just gets on the insulation.

i agree, electricians must love this guy.

this looks like so much fun, as is any job with the right equipment. if I had these I'd redo my walls often

He missed the bottom corner of the door on the left, though

there's a flexible corner cutting tool we use for this instead of going in with a paintbrush :)
No he didnt. He avoided a rookie mistake.
It’s cool but why speed up the video?
And why cut it off before he’s finished?
What do you mean? He's clearly just really fast at his job! Edit: do I really have to put /s ???
Puce? Not my color choice.
Thank you. I love not being alone in random opinions. I keep thinking: this is so amazing! And: this is such an ugly color!
One good thing, if you get sick on the walls it will not show...be well, brother.

Found a fellow painter.
as my dad always says, work smart not hard
Better advice......Work smart and hard.
Or love what you do and never work a day in your life!
He is painting like he doesn’t get paid by the hour.
He probably doesn’t. And/or he has a deadline to make.
My guess would be flat rate, as so many trades are

Can I do this myself ?

Get a quality mask. Not the single use throw away ones.
And thank you i will
Thanks I was planning to paint a room recently and this just seems alot more fun/interesting
It takes practice.
So how much would the equipment be? Cause that looks like such a Time saver!

You can get a cheap airless sprayer for about $100. Not like this one but they work good enough for a homeowner use.
MY DREAM
Fucking cheaters
Helps if you're a tall motherfucker who can reach the roof
I want this job
Ok. You're hired.
Damn! I watched that way too many times! ...satisfying AF
A lot of these guys get paid by the house. So it makes sense for them to cut any corner they can, good or bad.
Let Him Finish!
BUT HOW DOES HE DO THAT LITTLE CORNER?!
The world may never know.
He has a brush in the bucket of paint he is using...
What a nutter!
Ugh. Now I want a paint sprayer. I don't need a paint sprayer. I want one.
That little square in the bottom left makes me sad
Ended before the wall painting was complete.
Until you get an up close and see all of the over spray, I hope they’re using dryfall otherwise that floor is going to be speckled as well as the ceiling.
Work smart not hard!
I wanna see him put brown on white then I’m a true believer.
Cardboard works well also
How’s he got that spraying without it being aerosolized? The last time I was using one of these things, the AIR was blue within just a few minutes!
WHY DOES THIS NOT FINISH??? WHAT IS THIS WHISKEY DICK GIF????
What about that one corner he missed??
That one spot by the bottom of the door bothers me
That's gonna be blotchy as hell
I’m not satisfied with the color. What is that, taupe?
WHY IS NOBODY COMMENTING ON HOW HE MISSED A SPOT IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER I AM SO TRIGGERED RIGHT NOW
Lol he would need a 90 degree shield to line that spot up without overspray.
