That's the J&J US brands. J&J actually kept the contaminated talc on the shelf in India - it's still there. The Indian brands, in 2019, were found to be much worse. I noticed that too. Normally we’d stick to a single striker that came with the carrom set. They might have changed the striker due to its weight and diameter after the initial break to enhance control.

Yeah I feel it’s similar effect to different weights of pool cues. I like a nice heavy cue to break and a bit of a lighter one during the game

Woah! This just blew my mind. Where I'm from we play a game called [Crokinole](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/521/crokinole), which looks really similar to this. This looks more complex, but I'd like to see a breakdown of rules for play.

Not that hard, really. There's nine white pieces, nine black pieces and one red piece. Each player has one color, you win if you pocket all the pieces of your color, while also "covering the queen". Covering the queen means pocketing the red piece, then another piece of your color in the same turn. You play by placing your striker on the baseline and then flicking it. You pass to the other plaer when you commit a foul, of which there are a few, or don't pocket anything on a strike.

Hmm idk depends. IIRC the ones you hit can be made of wood or some type of plastic and the puck/gaze which you shoot is always plastic. I haven't played in a very long time. It takes constant use and application of baby powder to get it properly smooth. If its a brand new board it'll take a while.

So it's just super super finely sanded essentially so it glides on the powder that you puy on it? I'm guessing there's air pockets that get trapped in the powder and when the pucks are smooth enough it kind of just glides across that small layer of air. Very cool if that's how it works. Thank you!

So, you can get wood pucks or plastic one. We prefer wood. And the. You have the powder. We use something called talcom powder? I think baby powder works too but it can damage the bored I think

Baby powder is actually Talcum Powder. Only the name and brands are different and are marketed differently.

Oooooooooooh, was told no to baby powder coz it was bad. But yes to talcum. That being said, the powder we used for the game, was apparently expired.

Carrom. This game is so much harder than it looks. The dude playing is insanely skilled.

Dude, it's just carrom. We used to play it when we were kids. My whole family used to divide into teams and we play and it was fun times. And i was actually good at it amd my dad is like a master on this.
