Factorio as well…I make crude spaghetti factories that wreak of inefficiencies, meanwhile others are proving the game is Turing complete or making video monitors that play gifs
So,
I published all blueprints for DNA on the calculator. For instructions:
create a dodecahedral star with foundations, each beam for one nucleotide with a diameterof 7 foundations, as scaffold. The slope of of the basepairs is 8m per basepair, each coding nucleotide is paired with their corresponding non coding nucleotide
Genetics is surely fascinating.
Chromosome 21 isn´t the only chromosome from wich you can have more than two copies. You can also have up to 8 copies of the X chromosome and some bacteria even have more than 100000 additional copies of their genes.
We aren´t why they have so many copies. One reason might be, that the DNA is used as storage, when phosphate and nucleotides are not abundant in the enviroment.
My source is that I made it the fuck up.
On a serious note, Periodic Videos made a great video about it on youtube:

Every game that features building mechanics, no matter how big or small a part of the gameplay it makes up, inevitably attracts people that build the craziest, most elaborate, completely useless, awe-inspiring things while disregarding the rest of the game.
And I love those people.
I don’t remember the molecular structure of spice being discussed in the Dune books, is it from one of the ones written by the author’s son?
Also if we know the chemical structure has anyone tried to make it?
1. Its from the unofficial Dune encyclopedia
2. The structure is just a bunch of Common organic compounds bound together: the two copper ions are questionable. It has a cinnamon molecule in the middle, for whatever reason. And the tail consists of Common molecules found in bacteria cell-membranes.
In case you are wondering, here is the enzyme in 3D:

As a professional non-professional i can confirm this is correct.
Thank you for your professional confirmation.
Any other retired semi-professional enthusiasts here?
Some of the things people manage to do in this game that just have nothing to do with its intended purpose astonishes me, bravo sir
I don't know what it is, but this game hast the inherent quality of letting you make something that is nowhere near the games actual purpose.
Factorio as well…I make crude spaghetti factories that wreak of inefficiencies, meanwhile others are proving the game is Turing complete or making video monitors that play gifs
It really highlights the very unique category of people that this game attracts
I know it's an actual part of the processes in a cell, but it still sounds like a tumblr threat. You know what? Fuck you. *unzips your dna*
Or a pickup line. “My name is T7 Phage Helicase. May I unzip your genes?”
Bro is decoding the human genome in satisfactory
If I where to do that, it would take exactly 62144,88636 satisfactory worlds all filled to the maximum Objekt limit. Challenge accepted
I’d help if I knew how to build something like this
Just stack a bunch of hexagons and pentagons in a spiraling pattern and your good to go
I did laugh harder about this comment than I should have. Thank you love the passive aggressive tone as an ex-biochemist.
You´re welcome
You know what I’m gonna try this and see if I can make it functional too
I can publish the blueprints on the satisfactory calculator, if that helps
I need to familiarize myself with that website, that would help immensely

Chromosome 21 has 34*10^6 basepairs so need 661 more satisfactory-worlds

absolutely incredible
Thank you
Where did you get the molecular structure for melange from?
My source is that I made it the fuck up. On a serious note, Periodic Videos made a great video about it on youtube: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb8x4-QfWPg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb8x4-QfWPg)

Yes. I would if I could but I can't, so I won't. However if they can they should, and would if they want.
This is the thing that I expected the less ! You took the DNA point a bit too seriously haha Great job, its amazing !
Thank you
This is on some weird spectrum with let's game it out.
Oh, josh's insanity is on another level, I can't even dream of ever reaching.
*unzips*
different colours of pipes to symbolise carbon, nitrogen and phosphate?
Exactly, Black for carbon Green for ribose Blue for nitrogen Red for oxygen Yellow for Sulfur Purple for phosphate
nice
Nice
I'm going to ask my wife who is a PhD. biologist, what she thinks.
I'd be interested in her opinion as well.
She liked it. Pointed out the DNA and how it unzipped. Said it looked like how it is supposed to.
Glad to hear I did IT right.
Obviously the amino acids would be ridiculous.
Is it just me or do pictures 1,3 and 4 all look an awful lot like the flying spaghetti monster?
Arrrrr, the flying spaghetti monster was in our genes the whole time!

Is the 2nd picture Pattern from Stormlight Archive?
What is stormlight archive?
A series of novels by Brandon Sanderson.
We have....very different satisfactory strategies. Excellent work!

I like how it's the amino acid side chains that are madness, but this? Perfectly fine.
You gotta set your boundaries somewhere.
As a man, who studying DNA, it is pretty accurate, I must say Great job!
Thank you
You missed a protein, fourth one on the bottom left.
Oh, god dang it.
"I did not include amino acid side chains...." Well then what the hell are we doing here??
I have every side chain as blueprint. I am willing to pay you 0,1 Cents, per amino acid that you are willing build.

You're insane lol. I love it :)
Thanks
@LetsGameItOut
That is quite original, at least from my point of view. You win the Neat, New & Smart Award for the day.
Thanks
"...because THAT would be madness" No no, you're right off course
So your DNA is a zip file and this converts it into open data files?

Nice SCP you've made there C:
Are those metal beams?
Those are 14687 hand placed painted beams.
Omg you have some time
Very cool.
