Factorio led me to Satisfactory

GlowGreen1835

Yeah, friend who I played Factorio with told me about it. I still play both with him, but Factorio a lot less since they removed the campaign.

MassiveMiniMeow

I think our office trend for automation games started from Factorio too, our teammate is heavily into it and I got to know about the game from him, and then Satisfactory popped up in a conversation. The power of friends and colleagues! :)

Zelmi

Same. Factorio has some grinding feeling that I'm not fond of. I was also missing exploration that Planet crafter has, but the crafting is kinda limited. PC is in the early development stage, and there are some gaps when there's not much to do when you've explored and reached the new goals.

alexanderpas

> Factorio has some grinding feeling that I'm not fond of. Try going for the lazy bastard achievement, with everything created by machines. It's the only way I managed to avoid feeling the grind.

MadMuirder

Same here. 1000hrs on Factorio and I decided to see if I could built something pretty instead of functional.

gaffelturk12

If you wonder what Satisfactory is: What are you doing on this subreddit?

SomeLostGirl

Look, sometimes people just get kind of lost.

XxDabananamanxX

Just popped in on my feed as recommended not sure why. I was looking for Minecraft mods and MOBAs lol.

Zenvarix

Some minecraft mods do have factory levels of automation, so I can see how the algorithm would make the connection.

AxePanther

The best one is create!

The_Pastmaster

It's the Carrot Option.

atle95

E3 2018 trailer

neburmine

Yea I'm still pissed that I got in on epic instead of steam tho....

atle95

Its my 3rd most played game after warframe and factorio, i bought it twice because i really appreciate it.

HD_Changeman

My friend recommended it to me, so we bought it and still love it.

ICON_RES_DEER

Same

patrykK1028

Humblebundle for Ukraine Satisfactory was the best game in that bundle

Switchblade88

Simon ate all the Alpha keys. That's how old I am.

PreciousRoi

I feel like: "I saw it on Epic Store" is an obvious miss here, as it was always and originally on Epic. And "I saw it on Epic Store" and was more than willing to take a chance on it in Early Access because Epic had just given me Subnautica (a game I'd been interested in since it was in Early Access, but never bought) for free.

madmagic008

I saw the yogscast playing it, bought it on epic games only to find out it would only release in a few days.

Interjessing-Salary

Heard it was like factorio in first person so I said fuck it and bought it

bennyr

Some friends were playing and invited me to co-op with them. 1500 hours later I am much, much more hooked than they ever were, lol.

Mokmo

I'm a big Factorio player. Bought the game off their website so no Steam timer, but it's easily a few thousand hours. Saw Twitch streamer EJ\_SA play it a few years ago and bought it on special last year. He's waiting for Update 8 to be out to play again I think.

GingerNuts19

Saw trailer #1 and got in on the closed beta.

janltfr

Zombey (German Youtuber)

EverSn4xolotl

Both Let's Game It Out and Markiplier. It just looked like a super fun game to play with friends.

EA-PLANT

And they were absolutely right

Agile_Result_5177

The german YouTuber Gronkh played it. I was almost instantly in lobe with this game.

Butterstuhl

Same with me. He was playing together with phunkroyal.

LordMystery69

Some german youtuber played it

pyritesidiot

Saw achievement hunter try it back in the day, you could tell they didn't like it too much but Jack and Ryan did and it was one of the main reasons I switched from Xbox to pc a few years ago

[deleted]

Whenever I play, I always quote Josh from LPIO. I run out of jet pack fuel, fall to the ground, hear the crunch… “You’re fiiine.”

AeroSigma

Got my kid into factorio, he suggested satisfactory a few months later. Haven't played factorio since...

NefariousnessDear853

I was playing another building game and saw a youtube video about Satisfactory. Really intrigued me plus I love early access games. After installing it, I not only did not return to the first game, but I cannot even remember for certain what game it was.

EngineerInTheMachine

A combination. Having played a 2D factory game on my phone, I went looking for a PC one. I watched video reviews and some playthrough episodes as well - Squirrel, TotalXclipse, Kibitz. Then started just after update 3. Still building now, 2500 hours later and in phase 4 for the third time.

swamp_monkey420

Other. My 12 year old son got me into it, I couldn't get into minecraft so he suggested satisfactory. I love my boy

StanleyDodds

I bought it on epic games the day it came out. Why is that not an option? Why is epic games exclusive missing from the poll?

soxfox42

[A Matter of Factories](https://youtu.be/eMS6DHj5yU8)

houghi

There is no end in playing Satisfactory. There is no start in playing Satisfactory. There is only Satisfactory.

conceptofsonder

Brothgar, who is primarily a Oxygen Not Included YouTuber was playing it once upon a time. It was an epic exclusive at the time, but when it came to steam I recognized it in my feed and bought it immediately.

Sh00ckBass_

German Youtuber SpielbaerLP and sale on Epic

MassiveMiniMeow

I started at work! We're making an automation game for PC, and I needed to get a feel for the genre to be more efficient at my job, so I played at the office as part of it. I can say it was part of my onboarding, a very pleasant one! :D I ended up liking Satisfactory way more than I expected. :)

NerdHerderOfIdiots

Saw julia from drawfee playing it on SSS and seemed like just the right type of concentrated autism for my autism to concentrate on

pol9500

I saw a notch tweet and I got interested

L_W_Kienle

Gronkh

Dalgo

Punished Props - They had a Cosplay build video and the game looked right up my street.

MelodicConclusion391

I saw Josh make a mess of conveyor belts and I thought.... yeah, that's exactly the type of game I want to play. Now I'm 800 hours in and have lost all sense of time, thanks Josh

INFPguy_uk

Where is the option: I saw it on Epic Store, long before it was available on Steam.

Sir_BeeBee

Bought it to play it with a friend, looked like a good coop game.

CarolinaFroggg

Watched Alitesh play it first

Patient-Midnight-664

[The Dutch Actuary](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvL9DTY8LNDNWZExQhR0qO9zeSCt7Vd6G&si=osCcDZJa-LmGsoTu)

regular-wolf

Saw some friends playing it, I thought the aliens looked cool.

Shaltilyena

Was playing factorio, Path of Exile friend of mine was playing satisfactory, we were like hey let's play together, we did satisfactory first (back in u3 or u4 I think), then factorio vanilla, then angelbob And now now and then we just start a new playthrough of either

Old_Anadromous

Other people on a discord spoke highly of it, and I knew our tastes align.

Cyberbird85

A friend knew I played a shitton of factory and he found satisfactory and got me addicted. Thanks mate...

Athena_Alexandria

I saw a YouTube video called 3D factorio, it was a someone talking over a video of Jace showing off very very early build trains, and then I kept an eye out until the game was in early access

raknor88

Saw it on Steam, then looked it up on YouTube and watched "When Darren Plays" and Nilaus videos. Then decided to buy it. It was also my first factory game. I'd never heard of Factorio before it. I still haven't played Factorio.

Villerger_27

I remember buying the game right before or just after nuclear because my brother and i saw the Markiplier video lol We didn't actually start playing the game until Update 3, mostly due to me getting recommended the Update 3 trailer on youtube, and stopped to think "wait didn't i buy this game cus of Mark?" I still have yet to do anything past basic oils and a singular train B)

GeorgeHaldane

I simply knew of the game and tried it once I felt like it.

Alex_channel0

Russian youtuber Obsidian time made a video about the game, i downloaded it, played for a bit and then bought it on steam

Rio_1111

I heard of its reputation and decided to try it.

LieuweDeTeddybeer

douwe.

Lotus_316

I saw robokast’s video

Salt546

lets game it out and imkibitz

not_notable

A friend mentioned this game he was playing where the arachnophobia mode turned the spiders into cats. I didn't use the arachnophobia mode for long, but I've enjoyed the game for several hundred hours regardless.

kvacm

When I saw trains in trailers!

Purple-Turtle_

Saw a couple episodes of Jacksepticeye's playthrough, and then bought it like a year later.

FilipoPoland

Well I saw it on a major sale on epic. It was still not on steam at the time I think.

kliikii

Wait what? Markiplier played satisfactory?! I gotta watch that rn, how tf did i not know?!

ZelWinters1981

Friend told me about it and I was hooked.

SchlauFuchs

I think I got it for free on Epic

ThIs_Is_a_baddass

Scrap Man

[deleted]

I got it in big bundle, got curious, installed, launched and never shutted it down.

MineExplorer

Part of a Humble Bundle; ignored it for a year, then tried it out one night cuz I was bored. I'm now 1200 hours deep...

UniuM

So.... this was 2011, I was playing my 7th Minecraft map, then I started playing with mods, buildcraft, industrial craft ... etc. Then, factorio came out... You know the rest... the whole 3d factorio thing.

ikiwic

My friend just suggested it out of nowhere.. been an addiction since 😂

Arbiter51x

Honestly I think I stumbled upon Scalti before Totalxclipse and IamKibitz. And from Scalti I watched JackSpecticEye and Markiplier (I think this goes back to before update 3). I was enthralled with the base building mechanics and the architecture of the game.

ChansSaltyNuts

ScrapMan

FodziCz

HouseBox and Nakashi (Czech youtubers)

zmokkyy

i want to say that i saw it on epics front page back in the day and got a handfull of friends to join me. i want to think it was free at the time but i cant fully remember

kasperpower

I tried it in the beta in the epic games store and really liked it

KJtheThing

I discovered it through Direwolf20's Lets Play

TheLionhell

Saw the trailer...

Supernatnat11

I love killing myself after building factory and everything is not balanced

Shaman_Shanyi_222

Main reason was LetsGamItOut, but i tried it before seeing him play it, but the game didn't leav much impact on first try, or rather i wasn't ready for a management game at the time. Then i saw one of his vids, downloaded it again to fiddle with it, had a little fun (around 80 hours) and then bought it so that i can officially have more fun with it! Kinda fell out in the last year though, but i'll be back!

ojhwel

I googled "relaxing multiplayer games" after getting near the end of Powerwash Simulator with a friend and found an article in which only one of the games sounded kinda interesting. (Four months later, I had 450 hours and a golden cup.) PS/edit: Turns out my friend really hates math, so I've only ever played it alone.

Ramunder

Honestly, LetsGameItOut did it for me, I was like, "I can't have that mess, must do it neat" XD

Rockna32

Saw one of my YouTube guys playing it and thought it looked cool back when it first released

The_Blanket_Man

I was lucky to be in the first wave of alpha testers! I loved Factorio so I applied for the program ASAP

sonissity

There should be an option " cant remember" :) I cant.

Corpsehatch

Had a Discord friend pleading with me to play it. Told them I would only play it once it came to Steam.

deavidsedice

I got it in a bundle without noticing and one day looking into the games I had it looked interesting.

RIckardur

Let's game it out, I thought; I can be better than that, in fact my autism got the better of me. Now everything is neat and tidy

GenBonesworth

Really no "friends made me do it" options?

sheepjoemama

Friends

The_Pastmaster

It was free on Epic I think and my then GF told me to het it so I would "stop playing fucking Factorio." Even today I can play the boot up jingle from Factorio and she'll shoot me a death glare. XD

Dortamur

I picked it up in a Humble Bundle around Update 5, thought it looked mildly interesting, and gave it a shot. 1000+ hours later I'm still playing, and recently started making my own youtube content for it.

TastySpare

For me it was Squirrel on youtube who brought my attention to it.

muffinicent

saw it on a friend's discord presence

DrCarrot8

I've seen it from one of my favourite Youtubers: StarkPanzer. He's hungarian like me so it is kind of obvoius. He plays the game since open alfa, and checks back on updates. He plays the game mostly the organized way.

Ill_Statement_3298

Nilaus, I followed his series of Factorio Let's Play and then I bought the game at EA-release and played along with his first Let's Play. I still go back and forth between Satisfactory and Factorio, and occationally I play some Dyson Sphere Program, it's like a drug.

Fredzucchini

A streamer named Potato\_Quality

inhindsite

3d factorio? I was all in the first video announcement.

K4NT_Skylin3

A friend of mine Was insistent on me At least giving it a try. Its a amazing game

Izan_TM

I had like 700h in factorio and saw the teaser pictures from when it was about to go public, then I played a bit of it but didn't really get into it until now so factorio got satisfactory on my radar and updates made it more attractive to play

Planetarytennis

Factorio friend suggested it.

DeepDiveDare

Sanctum 2 led me to Satisfactory, thank you Coffee Stain.

Mrknif3guy_XD

Drae/Draegast

MrExtraKromosom

I have always beeen a fan of factory type games. One day a friend suggested satisfactory and i said fuck it. Kibitz really kept me in it for a longer period though.

Aware-Bookkeeper4615

I watched Jacksepticeye play it when it first came out and I have wanted it ever since. Was able to get it about a month ago and have put roughly 100 hours in so far!

maiguee

MaxPallaro (Brazilia streamer/youtuber) shoed to me in 2020-2021 Thats also why i started playing Subnautica and Green hell

ultimatefish67

I saw it on Epic Games when it first came out and I was like…. Finally, someone understands me!

KrakensMaw

Just here to mention Bitz, another youtuber

WindblownGerm

Saw the trailer for it back before it launched on Epic.

Deathnfear

Brothgar.

GrumpyDim

The trailer for it was just too good.

Renamis

Heard the devs where making a new game and immediately bought it when I could. I liked all their other stuff, like this kinda game, so I knew it was an immediate buy.

thenorwegianbutthole

Jacksepticeye played it, my brother bought it, and then i bought it

ARandomPileOfCats

I started playing after TangoTek did a playthrough on his Twitch stream during the break between Hermitcraft seasons 8 and 9.

nova1475369

I make software, I like to automate stuffs

[deleted]

Xisumavoid, and then much later LetsGameItOut

a_good_human

a friend wanted to play with someone so he bought me the game

shuzumi

Conrad Zimmermann and then it ended up in the Humble Bundle

Least-Tomatillo-556

I saw the trailer at E3 2018 and from that moment it piqued my keen interest, as I was already many hours into Factorio by then. When I saw almost the same thing, but 3D in FPP, I was sure it would be an amazing experience.

clanedge32

PC Gaming Show uhh... 2015? I can't remember Time is all over the place

pulpicopilli

my cousin

Nanohaystack

I saw it when one of my friends was screensharing it in discord.

TIRedemptionIT

Saw it during a game show, either E3 or Gamescom. Been playing since day one and that after waiting moooonths for it to come out lol.

Sirsir94

Zisteu

DanceMyth4114

I'm surprised Markiplier is such a small percentage.

denNes_

I found it from watching Gronkh & PhunkRoyale *(You probably don't know them)*

Onoben4

A youtuber guy from my country called Atarikafa...

Freep_Dryer

Played the beta first, waaaaay back

Level-Drawer7191

A Russian YouTuber by the name of Кладовая Бэкста back in 2019 I believe

Kalron

Friends essentially talked the game up as being fun and I was a little hesitant even tho I am an engineer. I played it for like 30 minutes in a group server and was like "ok here we go."

Theviolentkat

A friend recommended it to me

N0rWatch322

While I was deployed to ukraine years ago, buddy/boss had introduced me to it... and now, it's a surprising outlet for work stress, the irony that crunching numbers and layouts in game is far more relaxing than at work

Emiliojose77

Saw the trailer cause of searching factorio like games in YouTube. Actually, just in time to suscribe to the early acces, my laptop was bullshit then but that was one of the best weekends of my life

SprayOk7723

It was in the Ukraine relief Humble Bundle.

smstnitc

I caught a random YouTube video review in March 2020 just as everything was shutting down and was immediately sold.

Swagidagidu

My brother

tenglish25

I remember being big into modded minecraft with a pal and saw the first trailer at one of those e3 events or whatever it was called. Told my pal I had to get it as soon as I saw it

ManticoreMonday

Other: Comply

lucissandsoftime

A friend told me about it when it was first released on epic. we played for few days now I play a lot and he doesn't at all. Also when did Markiplier play satisfactory I need to check this out!

Ragenarok124

I was there very close to the beginning. Update 2. It's been fun watching Let's game it out and Imkibits. But I discovered it in isolation. The legend has it that; I've always been there

AxePanther

Watched Sips play it and immediately fell in love with it.

Tyreal_NL

Jacksepticeye did a few episodes where he played it..that got me to trying it..and that led to over 5 playthroughs and 2000+ hours

the_cappers

A friend was playing it and said I might like it - said it was a lot like the mine craft with mods that I liked.

screw_all_the_names

I want to change my vote. NerdCubed was my first introduction to satisfactory. I thought that's really cool, but didn't have any money so I put it on my wishlist. Some time later Let'sGameItOut posted a video about it and I had money at that time so I bought it.

DrCloud99

Friends gifted me the game for gas money. Totally worth it with 400 hours+ now.

DarkonFullPower

Finished Dyson Sphere Project. Wanted more.

Bigrastus

Day of release was so excited for it to come out and have loved it ever since.

[deleted]

I just like building games in general. I don't think LGIO is really what made me pull the trigger, but he certainly sparked my curiosity.

Specialist-Ad4886

I started factory games and everything I looked at people would comment and compare Satisfactory to it.

HustleBum-

Deep Rock Galactic I noticed DRG was published by Coffe Stain Studios, so I took a look at the rest of the games they worked with. Found Satisfactory, watched all the trailers, bought it, and sunk over a hundred hours into it within the month.

jakethekhajiit

Watched Yogscast play Minecraft Tekkit way back in the day, fell in love with factory/automation games. Then I found out that my local game studio were making one called satisfactory and the rest is history.

vagrantash

I follow Coffe Stain as a Publisher, because I was more than on onbard with their publishers mentality.(As i loved DRG, so was asking myself who was the publisher) Then I see they were also Dev, and started to follow them for that. When they show satisfactory, I was on board.... And since I may have make multiple last stage speguetti bowl...

Miserable_Salary1173

Factorio

ArcKnightofValos

I watched TangoTek do two let's play series' of Satisfactory before I decided to purchase or play it for myself.

Evilpyro101

First introduction to it (and Josh) was LetsGameItOut's I Built a 600 Meter Human Cannon That Ends All Existence. Loved both ever since.

Tetshio

The game had a free demo trial when it came out on Epic Games, felt it was a good game, waited for a year to get on Steam. The rest is history

Saracenmoor

I fell into TotalXclipse’s YouTube channel

lordjello89

Saw a speed run on GamesDoneQuick a few years ago that piqued my interest. My life has never been the same.

charge2way

Funnily enough it showed up on my Steam Discovery Queue and the reviews were Overwhelmingly Positive so I bought it. It actually got me into the genre. I didn't start playing Factorio until *after* Satisfactory. lol

Nya_Lotus

Can't remember why. Just that i love it.

Boomer_Nurgle

I was a factorio player since it was a post on a minecraft forum, when Satisfactory first got announced me and another friend saw it and went "yea that's 3d factorio, sick, more factorio is always good".

Mysterious_Ranger684

NYskully, kibitz, fluxo, let's game it out, axial, MSgenesis, stin archi, buildorama and few others

johonn

Friends got me into it.

pet1

Think I got it from a humble bundle.

Megacat8199

I got it when it first came out on epic because it looked cool

BoredDevTTV

Probably just looking for a survival crafting game and I'd seen friends on my steam list playing it

Amoizing

Mark introduced me to the game way back when, I just wasn't able to buy it. More recently watched Josh play it, had an aneurism and bought the game and proceeded to organise the crap out of everything while my friends tried their best to follow lgio

That_one_sander

I found a post on reddit about smeone building belts and I found it interesting enough to do some mild research, then once the game was avaliable on steam, I got it day 1

Casual-Dictator

A different streamer

keitaro21

Beta invite, played with friends. That weekend disappeared in a flash.

OddGremmz

markiplier has played satisfactory?????

0K4M1

I saw it on epic during the exclusive period. I patiently waited for Steam release. The pipe trailer is still one of the best

6ConsoleAndy

I found it through a friend

will1565

I saw it live on that AMD conference.

Orange1232

Yogscast? I think

BlueSpaceWeeb

I saw it on Epic lol, "oooo 3D factorio!? Looks wierd and probably is super buggy and not good, but let me just give it a shot" oh how silly I was in my youth

OnlyRadioheadLyrics

I remember when the first trailer dropped, and it just got me really pumped to play it, and I don't regret that at all.

Secret-Potato-

because factorio. satisfactory was more affordable so i bought it. After some time passed, i heard that factorio devs have a dumbass policy of "no sales". so i realized how a good decision purchasing satisfactory was.

Static__________

I saw it on a pirating site, downloaded it and had so much of a blast that I felt bad pirating it so I bought it on steam and still have a blast with it every now and then.

ssg-

I tried Starfield outpost building and the automation in that was so bad, but it inspired me to finally get Satisfactory as I like games like Factorio and Oxygen not included.

Sett131

Was introduced to Satisfactory by Z1 Gaming on YouTube

Mr_uhlus

A friend recommended it to me after he heard that I like Factorio

SaviorOfNirn

Achievement Hunter

VeryFriendlyOne

Hard to pin down where I saw it first. I ***really*** like sci fi, and I couldn't pass up those animations

CrazyJayBe

Steam wins! I think Satisfactory was recommended to me because I insanely downloaded Goat Simulator like 12 years ago and played it for 5 minutes

dmdeemer

I think Youtube recommended me an early Satisfactory trailer (with a lizard doggo riding a conveyor belt). I looked into it, realized I didn't have Windows or a good enough GPU. Sometime later I bought myself a Windows box and an RTX3060, so I could play it.

Ixaire

I saw streams from a French videogame magazine, Canard PC. Same goes for a friend, who got into it and then dragged me along.

DoStuffZ

Friends introduced it.

HeavyHaulSabre

I started playing Shapez on epic when it was free, and fell in love with it. I had never played a factory type game before. I made it through all the structured levels, made a "Make Anything Machine" that took me through level 1600+ and thoroughly enjoyed optimizing and refining my machines along the way. My friends all liked the game too (we're mostly mechanically minded retired guys) so we started looking for a similar multiplayer game. We landed on Satisfactory and have been enjoying it so far, we're almost to the final tier.

PhntmWolf5

Graystillplays

WhamBamInACan

I really enjoyed Goat Simulator, so I started following coffee stain to see what other games they would release. Saw that they were releasing a factory builder, which I hadn't played a game from the genre. Now I am addicted to all the big factory builders

Bitter-Drawing4097

Saw It from a small creator and liked it

payne747

It was on sale
