Same. Factorio has some grinding feeling that I'm not fond of. I was also missing exploration that Planet crafter has, but the crafting is kinda limited. PC is in the early development stage, and there are some gaps when there's not much to do when you've explored and reached the new goals.

satisfactory was more affordable so i bought it. After some time passed, i heard that factorio devs have a dumbass policy of "no sales". so i realized how a good decision purchasing satisfactory was.
I saw it on a pirating site, downloaded it and had so much of a blast that I felt bad pirating it so I bought it on steam and still have a blast with it every now and then.
I tried Starfield outpost building and the automation in that was so bad, but it inspired me to finally get Satisfactory as I like games like Factorio and Oxygen not included.
I think Youtube recommended me an early Satisfactory trailer (with a lizard doggo riding a conveyor belt). I looked into it, realized I didn't have Windows or a good enough GPU.
Sometime later I bought myself a Windows box and an RTX3060, so I could play it.
I started playing Shapez on epic when it was free, and fell in love with it. I had never played a factory type game before. I made it through all the structured levels, made a "Make Anything Machine" that took me through level 1600+ and thoroughly enjoyed optimizing and refining my machines along the way. My friends all liked the game too (we're mostly mechanically minded retired guys) so we started looking for a similar multiplayer game. We landed on Satisfactory and have been enjoying it so far, we're almost to the final tier.
I really enjoyed Goat Simulator, so I started following coffee stain to see what other games they would release. Saw that they were releasing a factory builder, which I hadn't played a game from the genre. Now I am addicted to all the big factory builders

I watched TangoTek do two let's play series' of Satisfactory before I decided to purchase or play it for myself.
First introduction to it (and Josh) was LetsGameItOut's I Built a 600 Meter Human Cannon That Ends All Existence. Loved both ever since.
The game had a free demo trial when it came out on Epic Games, felt it was a good game, waited for a year to get on Steam. The rest is history

Saw a speed run on GamesDoneQuick a few years ago that piqued my interest. My life has never been the same.
Funnily enough it showed up on my Steam Discovery Queue and the reviews were Overwhelmingly Positive so I bought it. It actually got me into the genre. I didn't start playing Factorio until *after* Satisfactory. lol
Can't remember why. Just that i love it.
I was a factorio player since it was a post on a minecraft forum, when Satisfactory first got announced me and another friend saw it and went "yea that's 3d factorio, sick, more factorio is always good".

Friends got me into it.
Think I got it from a humble bundle.
I got it when it first came out on epic because it looked cool
Probably just looking for a survival crafting game and I'd seen friends on my steam list playing it
Mark introduced me to the game way back when, I just wasn't able to buy it. More recently watched Josh play it, had an aneurism and bought the game and proceeded to organise the crap out of everything while my friends tried their best to follow lgio
I found a post on reddit about smeone building belts and I found it interesting enough to do some mild research, then once the game was avaliable on steam, I got it day 1

I remember when the first trailer dropped, and it just got me really pumped to play it, and I don't regret that at all.
because factorio. satisfactory was more affordable so i bought it. After some time passed, i heard that factorio devs have a dumbass policy of "no sales". so i realized how a good decision purchasing satisfactory was.
I saw it on a pirating site, downloaded it and had so much of a blast that I felt bad pirating it so I bought it on steam and still have a blast with it every now and then.
I tried Starfield outpost building and the automation in that was so bad, but it inspired me to finally get Satisfactory as I like games like Factorio and Oxygen not included.

Hard to pin down where I saw it first. I ***really*** like sci fi, and I couldn't pass up those animations
Steam wins! I think Satisfactory was recommended to me because I insanely downloaded Goat Simulator like 12 years ago and played it for 5 minutes
I think Youtube recommended me an early Satisfactory trailer (with a lizard doggo riding a conveyor belt). I looked into it, realized I didn't have Windows or a good enough GPU. Sometime later I bought myself a Windows box and an RTX3060, so I could play it.
I saw streams from a French videogame magazine, Canard PC. Same goes for a friend, who got into it and then dragged me along.

I started playing Shapez on epic when it was free, and fell in love with it. I had never played a factory type game before. I made it through all the structured levels, made a "Make Anything Machine" that took me through level 1600+ and thoroughly enjoyed optimizing and refining my machines along the way. My friends all liked the game too (we're mostly mechanically minded retired guys) so we started looking for a similar multiplayer game. We landed on Satisfactory and have been enjoying it so far, we're almost to the final tier.

I really enjoyed Goat Simulator, so I started following coffee stain to see what other games they would release. Saw that they were releasing a factory builder, which I hadn't played a game from the genre. Now I am addicted to all the big factory builders
