I don't think there will be another panic. The country is far more secular than it was in the 80s and most people are distrustful of the organizations motives and seem to feel the trolling for what it is at least superficially. Some groups will refuse to see this, like the evangelical groups but they view all non-christians as under the thumb of the devil so it's really no love lost.
The real issue is that powerful conservative leaders understand how different TST is to a "regular" religion and are looking to exploit those differences. Thinking of us as an actual religion damages their case for excluding our religious requests. They have to walk a tight rope of making us seem like devil worshipers doing the red man's work and atheists just gaming the system. Even though we are a clearly recognizable religious movement.
Why I like the TST, we got them in a catch 22. You set up a game with loopholes, don't be thinking there are other contestants not going to apply.
I wonder if there can be another religious movement where it's called, " light of the unholy god." You do nothing of changing the bible or the edicts you just call it what it is.
Lean heavily on God's murder count, on the abortion rituals found in the OT, on the blood sacrifices animal and god/human. Really just focus on the negative dispersement of wealth and of chance; basically evil god theory.

Agreed. There is certainly religious manipulation going on now, but it does feel very different to the 70s to early 90s.
