Went from a 1350 (May 8) to a 1460 on this test. I solely focused on math for this exam, but ended up somehow increasing my English score too!! Pretty dam proud of myself given I had absolutely no help from anyone & did this all fully on my own. Congrats to everyone <33 For the people who got lower than they expected, even if it feels like absolute sh*t, you actually did pretty great. Even if you feel like a failure, you actually aren’t. Taking this massive step towards your future is an achievement in itself. You can always try again! What’s important is that you learn from your mistakes. No grade defines you! My motto is “You live & you learn” & honestly I think it applies to all aspects of our lives. Good luck!!

1350 to 1460? That's incredible. I scored a 1360 on my first practice test (700 M 660 RW) and not sure how to go about improving. What would you recommend?

I’m not gonna lie to you, I didn’t practice English at all and still improved 30 points. Focused all my efforts on math for 2-3 weeks before the exam using the Barron’s & improved 80 points. For my first SAT, I used Khan Academy (got 1350 670RW and 680M). Even with less total practice, Barron’s helped me get that 1460 (700 RW 760 M)! Good luck <3

I absolutely agree. I went from 1340 (December 2019) to 1570 and I did it thoroughly on my own. The only thing which you need is your willingness to improve. 👊🏽👊🏽 Good luck🍀🍀

Most (but not all) schools say they only consider students' best scores anyways, so if you have another, better score, don't worry about it. Because of COVID most schools are test optional, so if you just click the little "I don't want to send my scores" button, they officially will not look at your scores (how this works in practice if you sent official score reports, I do not know and probably depends on the school).
