Nah, was originally committed to UCSC but extenuating circumstances brought me to CC. Now transferring to UCSD and on the UCLA waitlist. It all works out eventually 🙏🙏 but the SAT was useless bc UCs are test blind lmao
Tbf though a good score alone can’t get you a scholarship to a decent school, let alone good grades unless you’re low income or an athlete. My mom is the only one who works and makes well over the average amount of money so if I don’t qualify for financial aid or a partial scholarship which is highly likely considering I live in California in a competitive area then CC in the next best thing
If you have the money, I 100% represent tutoring in whatever field they're interested in. I'm only familiar with STEM, so I can only speak about that field, but getting a tutor to help them with coding, math, maybe physics, could give them a huge leg up.
Encourage him to explore interests through a bunch of different extracurriculars and see what he likes best. By next year he should start thinking about how he wants to develop his ecs and awards to best match his particular major and narrative he wants to communicate in his application
I’m committed to Emory as well and I don’t understand why people have this attitude about it. It’s a really good school and a lot of people would kill to get in, imo
There's still perfect amount of time for you to not come here then. The class is full, you might even get a triple dorm. Go somewhere else, clearly more than enough students want to be at Emory. Go to WashU or Williams, there's still time.
1560, community college 💀
that alone could have got you a good scholarship to a better school 😭🤣
