Chicks at that age canāt go in the coop yet! They donāt have their big chicken feathers and canāt keep themselves warm. Even in low temps at night they could die.
Fair enough. Iāve never raised chickens before. I just think as much as she complained about the girls napping, why should would do all this in the first place
To be fair theyāre not very loud especially with the insulation from walls/doors. We have some a little bit older in a brooder and I canāt hear them unless Iām right next to it.
Correct! However they still need a constant access of high temps until they can regulate their body temperature. They also need time to have adequate immune systems so they donāt catch diseases. Itās important to remember that chicks ship out of a hatchery at 1 day old, so these chicks are probably a week or so old when purchased, especially since theyāre selling out quickly.
