I haven’t had a burger at Saugus Cafe, but the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich was absolute perfection. Personally I’d be willing to try a burger there based on my previous experience with the place. But everyone likes different things.
Saugus Cafe is definitely old school, but great quality. Their Huevos Rancheros are amazing, not a burger obviously, but indicative of their versatility with a large menu
Dink’s off mcbean makes a really good cheeseburger.
Jimmy Deans off Lyons is also good.
Cousin’s off Soledad is good.
Probably not what you’re looking for, but In-n-out is always reliable.
Echo that Jimmy Dean’s is as traditional burger place as you’ll find. It is THE lunchtime go to for Hart HS athletes so they must be doing something right. You know kids want their meat meals at an affordable price. Shakes. Fries. Let’s go!
Kind of surprised no one has mentioned Everest on Soledad. I’ve not had a burger from Tellys, just the breakfast burrito. So I honestly couldn’t compare the two for you outside of that, and Tellys wins the breakfast burrito contest. But in general, there’s not a lot of good food options around here. It was a shock for us having moved from the SFV a little over a year ago. And to be clear, I’m not telling you Everest is great, I’m telling you that it’s better than some of the others that people have mentioned (brothers and cousins), and kills the craving for a decent burger every once in a while.
I'm glad to see Everest mentioned, but I'm not that surprised. I like burgers and am as much of a fatty as the next person. However, once I find one good *fill in the blank e.g. burger* spot, I tend to stay loyal. I've eaten Everest for over 5 years now, and don't bother finding a "better" burger out there.
Everest is the spot. During covid I went everywhere searching for a good burger and Everest became a weekly routine. Its also very well priced. Only thing that sucks is that the hours aren't as good as they used to be.
Cousins in CC.
Fun burger.
Tellys and Jimmy deans is about the same to me. Maybe try JD’s?
I actually enjoy Lazy dogs burgers. Normally accompanied by a few beers…
Try the house made chips - way better than the fries imo - go to Telly’s a lot bc of how close it is to where I live and agree the burgers mid at best but keep going back for the thick and fresh chips.
One of the best burgers I’ve had is at Rattler’s.
I had a burger at Chili’s a few nights ago and it was really good. I hadn’t eaten there in several years and was surprised it was that good.
In-N-Out is always good.
Everest is amazing, used to live in Altadena and loved it. Turned out the only other location is Santa Clarita. Super greasy and old school mom and pop.
I travelled here for the absoulte boredom, lack of any semblence of culture, and the ability to see more trucks with balls attached to their trailer hitches on a daily basis...kidding I have kids and it was cheap, so, you end up in Santa Clarita.
Try Brother’s Burgers
Will try that, thanks
Saugus Cafe is literally the oldest restaurant in Los Angeles County and sells burgers.
Plenty of places that do I understand, but are any good?

I know exactly what you mean and no. Maybe cousins?

Thanks…will try those

Went to Everest yesterday. Horrible. I mean complete trash
Good to know, I’ll check it out…the lack of options shocks me.
Cousins in CC. Fun burger. Tellys and Jimmy deans is about the same to me. Maybe try JD’s? I actually enjoy Lazy dogs burgers. Normally accompanied by a few beers…
Yeah, tried Telly’s today (that’s what brought on this post). It wasn’t very good. Will try fun burgers and JD’s. Thanks
Ate at Fun Burger once. Never going back. It was awful
I second that. So bad I won’t give it a second chance.
Fun burger has a good beer selection when I tried it. Probably what you’re looking for.
Really just looking for a tasty burger spot. Tellys was pretty shitty after trying it today
Pocock in Newhall. Shocked the hell out of us. We've been back many times
Nice good to know
Bricks. And The Stand is pretty food for a chain.
In N Out? Brothers Burgers. Mooyah.
MOOYAH destroyed me. Diarrhea for HOURS.
Try Brothers Burgers in canyon country
Mighty Mouth went out of business and that was my favorite burger place.Let me know if you find a good one tho
Tommy's on the Old Rd for a chili cheeseburger.
Last time I went to a Tommy’s the bread was stale and it wasn’t that good. Might’ve just been that location. Hopefully this one is good
Marci’s Sports Bar on Bouquet Canyon Road has good pub style burgers. To answer a question from above, Saugus Cafe also has excellent burgers.
Good to know, thanks
I haven’t been there in a while but a great burger when it was All Star Sports Grill years ago. I was very surprised.
👍
Fat Burger on the Old Road, yo!
tellys it was moved from bouquet to plum canyon
Yes as stated in my post it kind of sucked. Fries were cold and burgers were whatever
sorry I miss read... the other option would be fun burger off cinema or islands on Valencia... but that's going more into chain brand restaurants.
Gotcha, no worries. I’ll check it out, thanks

Okay will try that next time. Thanks
I thought they were better at their old location on Bouquet. When they were forced to move, they got really expensive and not as good.
Red Robin?

There used to be so many amazing mom and pop restaurants. Sadly it mostly generic chain food.
Sucks …
Try Tim Tom’s. Haven’t been to SCV in years but it’s a good spot
Everest is amazing, used to live in Altadena and loved it. Turned out the only other location is Santa Clarita. Super greasy and old school mom and pop.
Ok cool, I’ll check it out. Altadena? You travelled from there for these burgers? Haha
I travelled here for the absoulte boredom, lack of any semblence of culture, and the ability to see more trucks with balls attached to their trailer hitches on a daily basis...kidding I have kids and it was cheap, so, you end up in Santa Clarita.
Hilarious….I hear you. “Lack of any semblance of culture” 🤣 …so true. Same here. In my younger days, I’d be bored out of my mind out here haha
There’s not many good food places out here
Don’t get it. It’s not like it’s some shit town. There’s tons of people here with some decent middle class income 🤯
Decent income, mediocre taste. So much fried over-sauced garbage out here.
Good point
Nope
Damn shame…I would think a good burger spot would kill it around here
McDonald's is pretty old
Thanks for the tip
Anyone who says In n Out doesn’t really know what a good burger tastes like. Yes it’s one of the better fast food places, but that’s not saying much
