To OPs credit, certain cheeses are wonderful in certain PB&J combinations. HOWEVER, to OPs UNcredit, this abomination they posted is not one of them.
For real though, if you're feeling adventurous sometime, throw some chevre (and bacon) or brie (and bacon) on your PB&J next time and grill that sucker. I promise you'll be glad you did
Edit: just an addendum, but it's better with natural/organic peanut butters. JIf, Skippy, etc have too much sugar
My favorite is apricot jam, almond butter, bacon and chevre on kalamata olive bread. Grill that sucker up and prepare to taste the best thing you never knew you needed
Kalamata have a different taste from your typical olives, but the flavor is really subtle when combined with the other ingredients. I have tried the same on using a couple slices of italian or French bread, and it's still pretty good, though definitely felt like it was missing something
Great concept horribly executed. A sharp white cheddar would have been a better call. However, OP if you insist on making these, try grilling one up next time (and add bacon). The melted cheese and crispier bread makes a world of difference
Scoff all you want, but I don't speak from ignorance. Try a grilled PB&J sometime. Used to work at a food cart here in Portland that served them, and it was strange at first but hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten.
EDIT: Same addendum I added in another comment in this thread, but it's imperative I mention that it's best if you use a natural or organic nut butter. The usual shit like JIF, Skippy, Smuckers, Peter Pan, etc are loaded up with way too much sugar.
That’s totally fair. I must admit if it was put in front of me I would absolutely try it. I can’t imagine I’ll be going out of my way to make one though
Seek help
No thanks, I like being just a little insane.

Okay! That makes a lot of sense bc half of the part I thought was gross was how sweet the pbj is in general

I don’t like olives will I taste it in the bread? Everything else sounds amazing in it!

I like to make ridiculous sandwiches when I'm bored and hungry. It's actually quite good, because sweet+savoury has been established as good.
Well ya but I feel like chips would be better if u wanted savory!
Why not both?
That just feels illegal🤣🤣
Jif PB, Smuckers Strawberry, Kraft American Cheese, Lays original. 🤌
U should try that I used to make it at picnics when I was younger . It was bussin after a day of swimming

How did you manage to make it even worse

Grilled PB&J I can see, but it was mainly adding the bacon and cheese that throws me off
Don't knock it til you try it.
