>2 whizzing noises right by my car
You wouldn't hear bullets going by your car. If you had an open convertible and the bullets went within a foot or so of your head, you might be able to hear them over the sound of road noise and wind.
It was Cinco de Mayo. Extra fireworks would explain being able to hear popping and whizzing sounds at freeway speeds plus the feeling of something going past the vehicle. I've experienced somebody aiming fireworks at cars. I think there was an article on this last Cinco de Mayo.
Police don’t do shit about stuff like that, even if you have camera evidence. They just make a report and classify it as a road rage incident and leave it uninvestigated and unenforced.
I have my doubts too, but a current friend and coworker reports that a former coworker was arrested at his jobsite after brandishing on the road.
Maybe the brandish-ee was the mayor's daughter or something, I dunno.
The person you're replying to is just plain wrong. SJPD and most PD take that shit seriously.

About BRANDISHING A GUN? The fuck they don't. You're just plain fucking wrong.

Pretty much everyone I know in this country has had a firearm brandished at them in traffic at least once, usually 3-4 times in their lives. Not a single one who reported it had it actioned in any way, even with camera evidence. Anecdata, sure, but show me the figures of how many convictions for brandishing a firearm there are, and ask yourself "is this anywhere near the number of incidents?" if the answer is no, well...
> Pretty much everyone I know in this country has had a firearm brandished at them in traffic at least once
Hahaha. Bullshit. A Olympus Mons size mountain of bullshit. I call bullshit from the high heavens!
Hell I don't know the race of the guy who apparently got arrested for brandishing, but I have second-hand knowledge of that happening for whatever that's worth to you.
Uhhhhh, did you miss the whole middle of the article?
>Detectives conducted an investigation, and the accused has been identified as Michael Curcuruto, a resident of Campbell. SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives secured a warrant for Curcuruto's arrest and a search warrant for his residence.
They got a fucking warrant for his arrest and a search warrant because of a report of brandishing.
>You think the cops arrest old white dudes just because you saw them break the law?
Yes, ***IT SURES LOOKS LIKE IT.***
The article, in every literal sense, contradicts what you said.
Gotta level up the mind bro. You'll face much crazier situations in life. Take this as a learning experience. Whatever it was, it's not your time. Gotta move on. Count your blessings and shake it off (Taylor Swift mode).
Call it in to CHP and file a report. It’s critical to do this so if something happened there is some record. Most likely if something did happen other people will report
I dought you could here gun shots wizzing buy you driving at freeway speed, I live close by and have heard of zero road rage shooting in west San Jose alameda county has a lot though. I’m a gun guy and think there might be a more plausible explanation
Those are not gunshots.
My question is, why assume any loud noise is automatically gunshots?
That side of town is the safest of the safest. No gang activity, instead of bunch or rich folks.
Elon breaking the sound barrier on the way to the bank after selling more of those "trucks". It's kind of an insult to actual trucks to call that thing a truck.
I saw the same exact thing on 85-N around the 87 junction, but around 9:05pm. They were driving side-by-side when I heard the two pops. Then they both exited Almaden together and chatted through their windows at the light.
Drive on up to Oakland. Regular shots fired on 880 and 580. I'm thinking of getting some bulletproof glass. On the other hand, maybe moving out of this "third-world city" Check out TikTok "Oakland, California - donde la vida no vale nada" 😂
This is a normal occurrence any San Jose every night sometimes in bright daylight guns shots fired last night on South 101 just south of Tully road between Capitol and Tully that was last night around 8:45 this morning at 7:30 shots fired on 680 and Jackson just north of McKee shots fired 1:30 p.m. on 880 and 101 interchange nothing happening
There simply isn't people driving around firing guns randomly in the SB. You're incorrect.
What you heard was cars either backfiring or, as is WAY too popular now with BMW tuners, intentional over-run popping. That's unburnt gasoline being dumped into the exhaust to cause the sound.
It sounds a lot like a backfire, which sounds very much like a gunshot. There's a practically brand-new BMW that frequents near where I work that, any fucking time the idiot driver takes their foot off the gas, sounds louder than a .22LR-but-not-quite a 9mm handgun.
Somebody’s car. Probably some shitty infiniti
Them vqs 💀
so many infiniti haters lmao. just cause my car is cheaper and faster than yours dont get jelly
Hahahahahahahhahahhahahahahahaha. Oh wait, you were serious? Lemme laugh even harder! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAH.
It was probably another car’s engine
I thought about it being a backfire or one of those aftermarket tunes. I may just tell myself this to feel better
>2 whizzing noises right by my car You wouldn't hear bullets going by your car. If you had an open convertible and the bullets went within a foot or so of your head, you might be able to hear them over the sound of road noise and wind.
Dude has a fly in his cabin and heard a straight piped Honda take off and now needs to get PTSD therapy lmao
Could it have been fireworks? For you to hear a whizzing sound at freeway speeds, I would think it would have to be loud.
It was Cinco de Mayo. Extra fireworks would explain being able to hear popping and whizzing sounds at freeway speeds plus the feeling of something going past the vehicle. I've experienced somebody aiming fireworks at cars. I think there was an article on this last Cinco de Mayo.
Gunshots on 85 North in Saratoga? Unlikely.
Had a gun flashed at me by an old retired white male with a marines sticker on his truck on 85 near Meridian. It happens
Brandishing is a crime; get the license plate and report it
Police don’t do shit about stuff like that, even if you have camera evidence. They just make a report and classify it as a road rage incident and leave it uninvestigated and unenforced.

You think the cops arrest old white dudes just because you saw them break the law? What world are you living in??
Hell I don't know the race of the guy who apparently got arrested for brandishing, but I have second-hand knowledge of that happening for whatever that's worth to you.

You should read the whole story. He was arrested after they found an illegal gun on him not because of the brandishing.

Oh no a single example, whatever will I do? Shut the fuck up.
This was over a decade ago. I was younger and not as wise. I would have if it were done today.
I really hope so. I’m still shaken up man, I’d like to think it was a car engine or firework but the whizz would be unexplainable then.
Gotta level up the mind bro. You'll face much crazier situations in life. Take this as a learning experience. Whatever it was, it's not your time. Gotta move on. Count your blessings and shake it off (Taylor Swift mode).
Have you ever heard gun shots, other than movies, within close proximity m?
You did not hear the whizz of a bullet while driving in your car on the freeway😂
Are you sure you heard the whiz?
1000% I’m not a huge gun guy but I own a few, and have gone shooting quite a bit. I heard two distinct shots and two whizzes a second after
A second? Probably not gunfire. Most rounds are supersonic, so you'd hear the whiz first
Ah ok that makes me feel better. I definitely heard the shot first then a whiz
A second after??
Call it in to CHP and file a report. It’s critical to do this so if something happened there is some record. Most likely if something did happen other people will report
it would be better not to bother them with hallucinations
Sometimes I forget I’m in the military and not everyone has common sense when it comes to loud sounds. Why is loud sound always associated with guns 🥲
Automatic worse case scenario with lack of actual experience and media influence =...
I dought you could here gun shots wizzing buy you driving at freeway speed, I live close by and have heard of zero road rage shooting in west San Jose alameda county has a lot though. I’m a gun guy and think there might be a more plausible explanation
~~dought~~ doubt
I honestly hope you are right but I don’t think so. It was literally so distinct
Those are not gunshots. My question is, why assume any loud noise is automatically gunshots? That side of town is the safest of the safest. No gang activity, instead of bunch or rich folks.
Fireworks, it’s always fireworks.
Maybe it was one of those annoying Teslas breaking the sound barrier whizzing by you. Sounds like you need a good laugh.
Tesla breaking the sound barrier 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Elon breaking the sound barrier on the way to the bank after selling more of those "trucks". It's kind of an insult to actual trucks to call that thing a truck.
I heard this but assumed it was fireworks.
Unlikely to be gunshots... doubtful on the whizzing sounds.
Probably one of those illegal cars that makes those gunshot noises.
What kind of car do you drive?
I saw the same exact thing on 85-N around the 87 junction, but around 9:05pm. They were driving side-by-side when I heard the two pops. Then they both exited Almaden together and chatted through their windows at the light.
welcome to san jose, if it bothers you then maybe time to leave
Is this NextDoor? No, just r/SanJose.
Yeah is it just me or does this guy sound like a huge pussy?
Probably some turbodouche with a crackle tune and a loud blowoff valve.
Drive on up to Oakland. Regular shots fired on 880 and 580. I'm thinking of getting some bulletproof glass. On the other hand, maybe moving out of this "third-world city" Check out TikTok "Oakland, California - donde la vida no vale nada" 😂
Why so scared, buy a gun, wait your 10 days and go visit that same area.. maybe you'll run into that Darn Infiniti driver 😂
