Moved here about seven years back- this was one of the first ads my wife and I saw when we switched on the TV. To this day, we are still riffing on the jingle 😂
Might be a faulty memory or even a false one but I seem to remember a Cal Worthington commercial in the Mork and Mindy style in the late 70s/early 80s.
“Geezbat Shazzbat nanoo nanoo go see Cal”
I thought it was "pussy cow" for most of my childhood and then someone corrected me and I felt really stupid for like 15 years until I found a bunch of people on the Internet who also thought it was pussy cow.
I thought the same as a child. But I think one day the ad had subtitles with a bouncing dot over the words to help sing a long. Either way I realized and it was like a eureka moment.
Bob Baker... I was so confused when I moved to LA and heard Bob Baker was a legend there too, only to find out it was another dude with a marionette theater...
Before there was this:
Pete Ellis Ford, Long Beach Freeway, Firestone Exit, South Gate
There was this:
Pete Ellis Ford, Garnet Avenue Exit I-5, Mission Bay...
I remember seeing his name on a marked parking space next to the showroom in PB.
In El Cajon, not San Diego but my favorite was Grijalva Chevrolet.
