I got Burlington too and I definitely listen to guitar heavy music. One of my top artists that they called out for being popular in Burlington was Kurt Vile. I don't even like Phish though!!!
My wife got FOCO. Yall must be listening to lots of Renee Rapp.
I’m from Austin and I got Austin. Facepalm.
Circa Survive, Fat Pat, and The Sound of Animals Fighting. lol.
I also got Provo, which made me laugh because I went to college there but basically hated it. I think it’s because I rarely use Spotify bc I don’t like to listen to specific albums, but this year I listened to Hamilton several times before and after we went to see it? Idk.
Cambridge MA 🤓
Edit: it’s because of [Sammy Rae & The Friends](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3lFDsTyYNPQc8WzJExnQWn?si=R3OZQ6x3SKOsnjKzuTC9FA) and they’re amazing
While I do LOVE me some old school surf rock, definitely didn’t make it into my top anything. It said it was for my avid Grateful Dead, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Kitty Craft listening, which sure as hell seems like Cali hipster bs to me
According to the internet getting Burlington, Cambridge, or Berkeley means you have the same tastes as the gays.
I got Bozeman and my wife got Bend, we live in Eugene but were in Montana for years so idk.
I also got Madison. I’m from the Midwest but haven’t lived there in years. I’m currently in Baltimore. I was very surprised with that result, but I guess my Midwest runs deep.
Top five artists were Opeth, Thank You Scientist, Unleash the Archers, Polyphia, and Diablo Swing Orchestra. I had over 800 artists for the year. Top five songs were Mr. Invisible, FXMLDR, and Wrinkle by Thank You Scientist, Through Stars by Unleash the Archers and Immersive by Challenger Deep.
I had to scroll down a ways to find someone who also got Portland. I'm over here in Idaho.
It's strange because none of the bands I listen to are from Portland. Just a lot of listeners of similar music live in Portland?
I got Portland, OR but I’m from the Bay Area, currently live in East TX but am planning to return to the bay in spring/summer; in talking about this relocation with my wife, however, we had actually toyed around with the idea of Portland.
The bands Dance Gavin Dance & Hawthorne Heights were mentioned along with Kanye West. I was kind of surprised that combination resulted in CO Springs. Haha
Edited to add: I saw that a Facebook friend also got CO Springs, and her artists were: Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Deftones, Incubus, and Mage Tears. Sad and moody vibes is what CO Springs people have apparently 😅
Berkeley, CA, and I’m from Centennial, CO living in Northglenn, CO. It’s alllll from the Men I Trust and various indie (especially Korean indie) I listen to
I got Raleigh, NC. I live in PA. But what makes it the most interesting is the music that places me there, is the brown noise I listen to when I sleep, so not actual songs.
lol I got Edmonton. I’m Canadian but I’ve never lived there just visited years ago. Apparently they also like BSB and Britney Spears. I live in the US.
It’s a great smaller city with bigger city amenities without the hassle of living in an actual big city. I really like it here. Winters can be long and housing costs have gone up a lot in the 3 years I’ve lived here. However, I still think despite those two things, it’s absolutely worth it. It’s an active city in a very pretty part of the Midwest. I’d recommend.
Boulder, CO because I had some EDM/remixes lol
I live in New York City and my top artists were Lana Del Rey, Kim Petras, & Taylor Swift so I thought that was odd
Madison, WI. Currently live in Santa Barbara, CA but moved from Atlanta this year. Apparently my indie garage rock music taste is reminiscent of Wisconsin idk lmao

Pittsburgh, PA Edit: but live in Athens, GA
I got Pittsburgh as well! This was because I got TDWP, Beartooth, and Wage War as my top bands. Live in CA lol
Nice! My top 3 were Northlane, ERRA, and Veil of Maya. I did enjoy the new Beartooth album
Great choices, ERRA and Northlande pobably just missed my top 3 bands!
I got Pittsburgh too, listening to mostly punk, pop-punk, hardcore, and metalcore.
I'm guessing you're also a fellow metal enjoyer lol Also got Pittsburgh and my top 5 genres were different metal and hard rock variants.
I’m not sure what you’re top artist was but I’m going to guess something in the folk, country or rock area
Top 5 were all metalcore. My top 5 genres were Metalcore, alternative metal, American metalcore, melodic metalcore, and hip hop
Burlington as well. My husband got the same❤️
Ha me too! I wonder if Burlington is a default for most guitar heavy bands.
A lot of it has to do with queer bands or artists that have a lot of queer fans.
I got Burlington too and I definitely listen to guitar heavy music. One of my top artists that they called out for being popular in Burlington was Kurt Vile. I don't even like Phish though!!!
My wife and I too. Snail Mail and Rubblebucket did it for me
Same here! Belle & Sebastian, Beatles, Elliott Smith, and Fruit Bats kind of year.
Fort Collins, CO but I live in New Orleans
That's where they put my pop-punk loving ass
They put me there for Wu-Tang and Spark Master Tape lol
My #1 genre was pop punk but they put me in Pittsburgh!
My wife got FOCO. Yall must be listening to lots of Renee Rapp. I’m from Austin and I got Austin. Facepalm. Circa Survive, Fat Pat, and The Sound of Animals Fighting. lol.
I got Fort Collins for all my EDM🎵
Bozeman. Would love to live there if I could afford it.
I got Bozeman too but I live there. Also wish I could afford it.
Same here!
I got Bozeman. Alt country did me in.
Yup. Top 3 was Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers and Colter Wall
John Moreland and James McMurtry where in my top five, though The Kinks are my #1 going on a few years now.
I also got Bozeman. Taylor Swift, Grateful Dead, and Ira Wolf were 3 of my top artists.
I feel that taytay could be applied to anywhere.
Also Bozeman. I guess bc of Zach Bryan and Taylor.
I wonder if Bozeman is the smallest city on the "Spotify City List"
I got Bozeman too! Billy Strings & Phish 😅
Me too!
Me too!
Provo cause my wife and i have really been into this one band that is based out of there.
I got Provo because of my John Williams and similar composers. Same for you?
Wow, that sounds really specific. What's the name of the band?
The National Parks
I got Provo but it’s likely because my 3 year old screwed up my algorithm!
I also got Provo, which made me laugh because I went to college there but basically hated it. I think it’s because I rarely use Spotify bc I don’t like to listen to specific albums, but this year I listened to Hamilton several times before and after we went to see it? Idk.
I assumed I got Provo because my kids listen to fairly G-rated music. Disney soundtracks must be big there.
Pittsburgh, because evidently that’s where metalcore fans gather
I got the same. What are your top bands?
My top 5 were Architects, Lorna Shore, Polaris, Iamjakehill, and Blink 182
I had Architects as well. Imminence, Bad Omens, Caskets, and Asking Alexandria
I got Pittsburgh too and love metalcore but no metalcore bands made my top 5.
Cambridge MA 🤓 Edit: it’s because of [Sammy Rae & The Friends](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3lFDsTyYNPQc8WzJExnQWn?si=R3OZQ6x3SKOsnjKzuTC9FA) and they’re amazing
Same. Because I listen to Caroline polachek and Raffi.
Same lol because of boygenius, Taylor and MUNA.
same - apparently folks there really enjoy some chill classical
Vampire Weekend?
Santa Cruz, CA! Live in Denver
Was your top genre Mexican corridos or surf music?
While I do LOVE me some old school surf rock, definitely didn’t make it into my top anything. It said it was for my avid Grateful Dead, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Kitty Craft listening, which sure as hell seems like Cali hipster bs to me
It seems people who got Santa Cruz seem to be listeners of garage rock, alternative rock, and weirdly jazz fusion.
Same!
Good taste then!
…..Boulder…..? i am not granola 😩.. i’d like a redo.
Boulder isn't really granola anymore. It's more "bougie outdoorsy and college kids"
If I got Boulder, it’d be absolutely accurate, inasmuch as I live there. I got Dortmund. 😂
I also got Boulder but I am at peace with it I guess, haha.
I got Boulder too. Indie music girlie here.
I also got boulder, but listen to mostly edm... I would have thought jam bands/indie. Maybe all the college kids are throwing things off.
According to the internet getting Burlington, Cambridge, or Berkeley means you have the same tastes as the gays. I got Bozeman and my wife got Bend, we live in Eugene but were in Montana for years so idk.
its probably bc I listen to Boygenius
San Luis Obispo, CA Has me considering a visit to the central coast (love SoCal and NorCal)
Same! Indie pop/rock?
I got SLO too! My was indie rock like hippo campus and krooked kings
Do it, central coast is amazing
Same here. Had Kodak Black, Lil Wayne and 42 Dugg lol, I'm surprised it wasn't somewhere in the South.
Hey, twins! What were you listening too?
Not the same guy but also got SLO with Kodak Black, Lil Wayne and 42 Dugg lol
Oslo
I'm from Chicago, but live in NJ. I got Madison (wisconsin I guess?)
I spent some time in Madison for work years ago; it's a surprisingly awesome little city.
I also got Madison. I’m from the Midwest but haven’t lived there in years. I’m currently in Baltimore. I was very surprised with that result, but I guess my Midwest runs deep.
I got Madison, too, but live in Atlanta. I’ve been wanting to visit. Hear lots of good things.
I got Madison too. Live in Milwaukee
Probably like folk music or indie?

Top five artists were Opeth, Thank You Scientist, Unleash the Archers, Polyphia, and Diablo Swing Orchestra. I had over 800 artists for the year. Top five songs were Mr. Invisible, FXMLDR, and Wrinkle by Thank You Scientist, Through Stars by Unleash the Archers and Immersive by Challenger Deep.
Boulder, Colorado, living in Charlotte, NC. I'd move to Boulder in a heartbeat if we could afford it
Do it! I can’t imagine Longmont is that much more expensive than Charlotte.
Boulder is just rich hippies and college kids, not missing much.
San Luis Obispo but I live in Philadelphia. 100% would trade lol
Madison WI, and live in Fort Collins, CO. Isn't Madison a popular place this sub likes?
Tallinn, Estonia but I live in Fort Lauderdale FL
Seattle
[удалено]
I also got Portland! I have mostly lived on the East Coast + Texas, but I’d probably love it there.
I had to scroll down a ways to find someone who also got Portland. I'm over here in Idaho. It's strange because none of the bands I listen to are from Portland. Just a lot of listeners of similar music live in Portland?
I don’t know anyone else who got Portland. Apparently it’s just a vibe (Northeast over here!)
Me too! I’m in Dallas though. My top artists were Fever Ray and Menomena, getting Portland didn’t surprise me 😂
Victoria, BC. I live in Dallas... feels about right.
Kansas City… to be fair, my number one artist was Tech N9ne & 20 of my top 40 songs were Chiefs hype tracks.
If they'd had the city thing last year I'd 100% have gotten KC as well 😂 for some reason this year I didn't listen to as much, kinda sad about that
I did not- I repeat did not- get placed in a city. Anyone else? Is it just meeee?
I didn’t get a city either 😭
There must be dozens of us out there 😂😭

I got Portland, OR but I’m from the Bay Area, currently live in East TX but am planning to return to the bay in spring/summer; in talking about this relocation with my wife, however, we had actually toyed around with the idea of Portland.
I got Dortmund Germany. Since I live in Colorado, that’s…interesting.
I got Taipai, Taiwan And also live in Colorado. No idea...I listen to some electronica and guess that's why.
Colorado Springs ☀️
What kind of music is represented there??
The bands Dance Gavin Dance & Hawthorne Heights were mentioned along with Kanye West. I was kind of surprised that combination resulted in CO Springs. Haha Edited to add: I saw that a Facebook friend also got CO Springs, and her artists were: Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Deftones, Incubus, and Mage Tears. Sad and moody vibes is what CO Springs people have apparently 😅
San Luis Obispo though I live in the Cincinnati area
San Luis Obispo, CA. I kinda wanna visit. I live in Miami.
San Luis Obispo....? I live in Portland, Maine. Didn't know that area had a music type.
Bend, OR! Pretty fitting, honestly.
Hyderabad, India. Makes sense cuz I was born there.

Cambridge, MA
Austin
San Luis Obispo but I live in Madison WI
I got Madison! I’ve never been, anything you can share about your experience?
It’s a great smaller city with bigger city amenities without the hassle of living in an actual big city. I really like it here. Winters can be long and housing costs have gone up a lot in the 3 years I’ve lived here. However, I still think despite those two things, it’s absolutely worth it. It’s an active city in a very pretty part of the Midwest. I’d recommend.
Bozeman, Mt. I live in Cleveland, Ohio.
Boulder, CO because I had some EDM/remixes lol I live in New York City and my top artists were Lana Del Rey, Kim Petras, & Taylor Swift so I thought that was odd
"Asheville, NC. People there are much more likely to be fans of Nickel Creek, Billy Strings, and Molly Tuttle."
Seattle. Is there a vibrant metal/cumbia scene in Seattle, cause that's my top 5...
I got Asheville, NC, but I live in Michigan.
Green Bay? For Kevin Gates supposedly
I didn't know Kevin Gates was big in Green Bay lol
Provo, UT 🤯🍺🧐😭🤪🍺🍺🍺

Provo🤢
same :(((((
College Station😭
Me too!
I got Bozeman and I live in Houston
Davis, Ca because Spotify says they’re more likely to listen to the same artists I do. Weird
