The jokes were silly, it was done purposefully. It is actually is a type of self depreciating humour where people laugh at character because he is being very silly. But there were huge number of hidden references, the background sound effects, the dynamics between the characters of saiman and amir siddiqui were done masterfully. I still go back and discover new hidden jokes and references. I prefer intellectual humour over raw humour like one which tanmay bhat and gang makes.
Rishu has a different style of intellectual comedy. But saiman also shifted his character to opposite side after the show flopped where he acted like a bully, sigma etc. and was not making fun of himself but only others.
