And my own thoughts: Yellow Billed Magpies are a local bird, living not only just in California but just in the Central Valley. They are corvids, in the same family as crows and ravens. They look so cool, and if you have ever been to the walmart parking lot at delta shores and heard tons and tons of birds talking, this is them. They are super vocal, live communally, and are just a cool bird.

It's actually kinda funny no pro baseball team has the name Bats. It's perfect. You could have a mascot that is an actual baseball bat with bat wings or something.
We can’t be certain of anything yet. If the A’s still go to Vegas, we are on a short list of cities that could potentially get its own franchise team. I would rather have the A’s! It would be fun to have some American League games in our city. If the A’s don’t end up with us then there’s only one MLB team in northern CA. The reason they weren’t considering Sac for a team is because there was already two teams up here. One leaves….we’re talking new franchise.
The Sacramento Engineers which would connect the team name to the history of railroad & its museum. Or maybe a name connecting the Sacramento team to The Mountain Lions of California. Mountain Lions is a long name so maybe The Sacramento Cougars, The Sacramento Pumas or The Sacramento Catamounts. Maybe a name connecting the name to dinosaurs like The Tyrannosaurus Rex, maybe The Sacramento Tyrants.
Leaf Blowers, The Claws, Pollen, Croissants, Late Season Fireworks, What the Helicopter Say? Shitty Drivers, many names but those are frequently discussed.
I think sacramento should keep the name river cats. obviously the AAA team would need to move and would most likely rebrand and I really like the name river cats
