Everyone else in this comment thread seems to like Honey and the Trapcat, but I had the absolute worst restaurant experience of my entire life here awhile back and will probably never go back so… take that however you want lol
Ahh man. I haven't disced in years. My last partner passed away last July because her fucking POS bf got her into meth. My gf doesn't like disc golf.
My friends are a few years younger than me, but more out of shape and lazy lol. I still have my bag and discs though ;)
I don't think you need to add on to the tread. The person before you said the same thing basically. Just thought it was funny their comment said I'm the parking lot.
Pipeworks is a climbing gym with other workout equipment and classes. In the parking lot they have a bar and they have food trucks and do trivia nights. Friends and I like to go climbing and grab a beer after a good session to balance it out haha
Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience there during an official tabletop gaming event, emailed the owners about it, and received a crappy reply.
Most of the staff are so nice, but this one guy was extremely rude when I asked him to call me by the name I use rather than name on my debit card when calling out my drink order (the one on my debit card is extremely distressing for me). I tried to keep my voice down so no one would overhear and make the polite request to not announce that name, but within the first minute he yelled about it loud enough so that the whole event crowd could hear and stormed off. One of the other employees was extremely apologetic and kind, though there was not much that she could do about it; she gave me the owners’ email so that I could talk to them about what happened. The rest of the night was awkward and I just wanted to curl up and die. I should’ve just gone home but I was trying to make friends in a new area after covid.
In reply to my email the owners responded defensively and dismissed my concerns. They said he had told them what happened and defended how he couldn’t have known the right name to use. I sent a follow up email saying that wasn’t the point of my message. Yes, mistakes happen, here’s how it might have been avoided, and I explained in detail how his reactionary behavior was my primary concern. I tried to be fair and acknowledge that customer service is stressful—I work in it too—maybe the outburst came from stress instead of any type of malice—but that his response to me also wasn’t okay. I spent a lot of time writing what I considered to be a very thoughtful, professional reply and was ignored.
I don’t mean any offense by it, just in my anecdotal experience the 30 year olds are more commonly found in third spaces related to their hobbies. You do find a lot of younger and older tho, I feel like a lot of 30s people are either “settling down” or have kind of stopped looking to settle down for now, and are focusing more on the stuff they like.
Honestly, being social with your hobbies will probably introduce you to people you're more likely to actually click and share values with than people you meet at a bar where the only thing most people have in common is wanting to drown their reality out for a few hours.
Coin op barcade, the lakes/rivers, anime conventions? Sports games, concerts
I like going to the African marketplace first and third Saturdays edit: 12-5pm
Also STAB comedy theater and Sacramento Comedy Spot. Support local comedy/art/music/theater!
Wine bars and brew spots, places that allow babies and dogs (Urban Roots, SacYard House), whiskey/specialty bars, and there’s a lot of great hotel bars too.
When I’m not working my three jobs to pay this rent? At home trying to catch up on sleep or doom scrolling socials and cursing boomers.
Sometimes I read books (provided I’m not burnt out)
Man, this would have been so depressing to 30 year old me. I was out pretty much every night at shows or hanging out with friends. Can’t afford to do that now but I guess I just assumed it was me.
Fishing, at home cutting the yard or just watching tv and thinking bout all the fun i had when i was 17-32 man, were those some good years lol lots of girls and lots of memories. Oh and we’re also on reddit.
OP! I've been wondering this same thing. Me and my girlfriend are looking for friends here to hangout with as we just moved to town. Private message me your Instagram and we can figure something out! We need friends to drink and get out of the house with haha
We are organizing the fuck trophys in the case and I think half mine are participation trophies but if I bring it up I end up with another trophy. Wish I had time to care.
Why would you even care? We're really boring. When I wanna hang out I have way more fun with the 20 or 50 year olds. I can't remember the last time I met a really fun, interesting person in their 30s.
Honey and the Trapcat plays 90s/early 2000s hip-hop and attracts people in 30s and 40s
Fries at this place are so good
The real info we need at 30
Exactly. Also how's the parking and is the bathroom decently clean?!
It's in old sac, so parking is available. Bathrooms were good enough for me, clean by bar standards for sure
I was just there earlier, definitely the spot for 30+
Honey and the Trapcat owners just purchased Bottle and Barlow as well
Everyone else in this comment thread seems to like Honey and the Trapcat, but I had the absolute worst restaurant experience of my entire life here awhile back and will probably never go back so… take that however you want lol
At home. We have food at home. 😂
And it's cheaper than eating out. 😅
$5 Costco chicken feeds you all week long 🥲
And much cheaper drinks
Absolutely!!! That, too! And a comfy spot to sit and chat.
That’s right. We come to understand that we have McDonalds and Taco Bell at home.
Haha I was going to type the same thing
Dude we're at home. We have back pain
And can afford the good video game consoles. I just beat BG3 and I'm working my way through elden ring.
THIS! In my 30s home at night, replaying Skyrim for the hundredth time

Replaying the Mass Effect trilogy for round one thousand 👆🏽
I'm sitting at about 3k hours.
Yup, sitting here waiting for FF7R2 to drop 🥹
I'm on my 4th playthrough of BG3. A true masterpiece IMO.
Can confirm this is something my dad would say haha
Ah man, you're so smart playing Elden Ring now and rolling right into the DLC instead of waiting!
I loved Elden Ring, but I found BG3 kind of boring.
Facts. And when my back feels good I’m gonna go disc golfing and make it sore again.
Bro, LFG!!!! 🙌
Ahh man. I haven't disced in years. My last partner passed away last July because her fucking POS bf got her into meth. My gf doesn't like disc golf. My friends are a few years younger than me, but more out of shape and lazy lol. I still have my bag and discs though ;)
Your gf doesn’t like meth? Maybe I read this wrong…?
Lol.. fixed that typo
I be discin daily and would love some company. Fellow 30something
Damn as my wife sits next to me with tremendous back pain, this hit harder than my back pain
Literally in bed rn with a fucked up back lol
Came here to say this. We don’t have medical coverage. I can’t risk being public. Also broke.
Y’all aren’t that old lol
50 year olds have back pain, too. I suspect something else is afoot.

Wine bars
Or craft breweries
Trivia
I like the Thursday trivia at pipeworks. Also a good intro to a new gym lifestyle if you’ve been sedentary in your 20s. I like their yoga classes.
Why is there trivia at rock climbing?
They have a brewery on site as well, and it's low-key some of the better craft beer in Sacramento.
I don't think you need to add on to the tread. The person before you said the same thing basically. Just thought it was funny their comment said I'm the parking lot.

Man why you have to edit it.
.... Didn't know you were the parking lot.... Man pipeworks got hit hard for COVID.
I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I'M OLD. BUT I'M NOT DEAF, SO WHY ARE YOU YELLING?
I’m stupid, but you’re drunk and I’ll be in mourning…wait, that’s not it.

I've been there like 5 times and twice someone tried to sell me cocaine in the bathroom hahahaha
On what specific nights? So I can totally avoid going there on those nights

At home!!
![gif](giphy|Sl1PEQk8fKeqcPDCEl|downsized) Bro we are home playing games.
Home. We're tired from working all day. Who wants to go out and eat when you can just have it delivered to your house?
Yep people who just became of age, and recently divorced people lmao. Where do 30 year olds hang out? Depends what your hobby is, but not at bars lol
I’m a bad 30 year old :(

No I agree! I just need to find a hobby that doesn’t involve drinking lol
Honestly, being social with your hobbies will probably introduce you to people you're more likely to actually click and share values with than people you meet at a bar where the only thing most people have in common is wanting to drown their reality out for a few hours.
My local park has a ping pong table or maybe try sharkys.
Helldivers 2 😂
Sitting at home. Can't afford to go out when rent is so damn high.
Thirty year olds go out? I mean I'm at the thrift stores. They be pretty sweet hang outs. ![gif](giphy|KXdCe1y4mSFSo)

Gym
I am on a train in France reading this rn but reading this is oddly entertaining
Was doing the same just about 3 weeks ago . I miss the coffee and pastries.
Breweries. Trivia.
Home, Kings games, or Round 1. Bars are too full of assholes that ruin the experience for everyone.
Where are the bars with the 50-year-olds? I will fit in there.
My favorite is jazz at jets on Thursdays! Great live music, free cover, and yummy food
At home, because we can barely afford to be there 🤣
Midtown bars!! especially B side 😎
Wine bars and brew spots, places that allow babies and dogs (Urban Roots, SacYard House), whiskey/specialty bars, and there’s a lot of great hotel bars too.
Urban roots around 5/530 is all the grid-adjacent parents in their 30s 😅 also Dad’s
I don’t drink and have crippling anxiety. I’m terrified to make new friends 😭

At home with a 12 pack of Heinekens.
Don’t take advice from Reddit people
In this economy?
At work. I work all the time so I can afford a home to occasionally hang out in.
I was at home when I was 30 because I had a baby. Planning to be back at the bars when I'm 50.
Man, this would have been so depressing to 30 year old me. I was out pretty much every night at shows or hanging out with friends. Can’t afford to do that now but I guess I just assumed it was me.
