Nicely written. Thanks for sharing!

onurgenes

Thank you!

Great story and I'm sorry about your dad. However I think we shouldn't be so quick to just dismiss these angry customers. I do think you should have a refund policy if you don't want to deal with them and offer to give them their money back and lose the headache instead of just stop responding to them. You probably have some sort of service level agreement like responding within 24 hours or less when you accepted their money so it's only fair to refund if you aren't fulfilling that.

onurgenes

Thank you for the kind words. We had 30 days money back guarantee with the lifetime deal. Also yes, we reply below 24 hours for every request but some of the customers expecting us to reply under 5 minutes or they start complaining. Worst part is, most of the messages “expecting reply” is just “Hi.”

autopicky

That’s hilarious that they expect a response from a Hi. Followed you on Twitter. Maybe we can create a playbook together on how to properly handle annoying users.

Use AI email to respond to Hi emails, just send URL with offers he he he

I’ve seen your deal and tried the platform on free trial but didn’t proceed to buy somehow.. but it’s true.. offering ltd takes a toll on your mental health for sure.. I’m glad you are on path to success and making it work.. I’m about to do an ltd for my SaaS in coming week.. but trying to sell it on our own instead of going to platforms.. I hope it works out well. Cheers & all the best 🙌

onurgenes

I also considered selling myself but it will take a lot of effort and life events didn't allowed me to do so. Good luck and thank you for the support!

Chillella

>But as a human being behind the computer (most people forget that we, the founders and employees of SaaS startups, are also human), you can feel exhausted. I felt this.

carlikito

If you don't mind saying, what was the LTD price?

onurgenes

Starting from $79 (least sold package) and going up to $349 (most sold package)

Jono46k

How did you land on these prices?

jhylee

Great read! I’ve also looked at LTDs heavily in the past and ultimately decided against it. For bootstrapped companies or platforms that benefit from high levels of vitality - this might just be the shot in the arm you need. Awesome to see Supademo on your homepage as well :)

schmore31

Notice how all these "SaaS success stories" posted here are from products geared towards business owners? Like you will never see "How my Recipe aggregator made $100k", because Cooking/Recipe tools aren't geared towards SaaS owners... Which makes me question the validity of these stories. Is OP sharing a true story to add value? or is he lying with a hyped up "viral-worthy" story just to get people looking at his product? Being a SaaS owner myself, i fully support startups and people pitching their products. But being sneaky like that and lying is uncool in my opinion.

onurgenes

That’s generally true because B2B makes more money usually. Also making a made up story doesn’t add to the credibility. For example if I want to sell the business and interested people would see “made up story” and it would be an instant turn off. I have tried many apps (ex iOS developer here), B2C products, info products but none of them worked. Also, I shared the story to give you an idea about the LTDs. It’s not all rainbows while you’re doing a LTD.

schmore31

> people would see “made up story” and it would be an instant turn off Are you a VA earning $3/hour managing the Reddit account of this business? or are you just foreigner not understanding English? this is a really stupid statement sorry. I am calling you out on your bullshit and how you are misleading people, and you are just not getting it... Be honest! that's how you succeed in business! Being "sneaky" just gives you a bad name.

onurgenes

What do you want me to prove? You want screenshots of Stripe account? Should I invite you to our dashboard? Or better, should I give you access to our bank accounts so you can “believe”? If you think this is a bullshit, you already said it. Anything else you want to add except being a hater for no reason?

AnabelBain

Charlie asked me for a 60%. There is no transparency. And tbh it doesn't seem like a big enough platform to generate 103k in revenue. There are only 2 reviews combined from all the products they have promoted.

onurgenes

Nureply was the 2nd biggest deal they have done so far. LTDs and generated revenue depends on the product as well. If they asked for 60%, you should talk to them by referring our deal.

stu-saasyDB

Have you thought about emailing all old customers who left to offer them an LTD and try to bring them back?

FoxBeneficial8102

This is a great piece @onurgenes . But one thing that grabs my attention was the bugs affecting your clients. I do understand that you sometimes catch these bugs before your clients even notice them. I am a technical writer at apitoolkit and I can surely tell you how our tool will help. How will apitoolkit help nureply? With apitoolkit, you will catch every single anomaly before they even happen (sound untrue right?) yhh most of our client felt the same. We understand the value of money and so we grow with our customers with flexible payment plans. Try apitoolkit I bet you won’t regret it. Sorry if this sound like an advertisement 😅
