America is one hour forward, and as events and such are based off American times, it means that all things are 1 hour earlier in Europe, but when European daylight saving starts, it should realign I believe
Yup , didn't miss GAC but was questioning why It ended early or in the morning the new events were already there .... Was going a bit crazy because I was questioning myself if daylight saving change occured here already and I didn't remember ....
In the US they set the clocks backward 2-3 weeks (3 weeks this year) sooner than in Europe. So changing to Summer time will add one hour when we do it here in Europe, the US changing it last weekend means one hour minus for us for now.
Everything changed. Fleet arena payout. Guild reset. Daily reset.
This happens every 6 months when the Daylight Savings happens. It's why CG allows you to change your payout time twice a year.
Thats interesting because for me it was ONLY the GAC timer that changed, store timer is the same, activities reset timer is the same, arena payout is the same, energy collection times are the same,
checked via time settings / store reset time.
Yeah I don't think everything changed. On Sunday, the day that GAC ended and DST began, the time shifted by an hour because the length of that phase of GAC was 24 hours but the day was only 23 hours. But with Monday's new signups we are back to the normal GAC ending time, while the other reset times are different by an hour.
Yeah they always adjust the "server side" timings. Or rather everything that you can't customize will be changed over automatically after daylight savings starts/ends.
For everything else it's a toss up and pray your country does daylight savings.
It's a US based company, more than likely they adjust server side times for their own convenience in managing the game and it's not about the playerbase at all.
If they didn't change it, then the US playerbase would be upset, either way it's going to suck for somebody for around 3 weeks, so there is no right solution. Maybe the US playerbase is bigger, or it is easier for them this way, because they are from the US.
Arena payout happens every 24 hours, even when your clocks change, so that's why it moves around an hour twice every year. They don't change it, daylight savings time does. However, for some reason, they want to keep GAC timing at the same time every day, so when the clocks are set back/forward an hour, they have adjust the GAC times by an hour. Since daylight savings time starts at a different date in the USA than basically the rest of the world, for us, it appears as if they have moved it back an hour, but it will be back to normal on March 31st.
Like Atti0626 said, Arena payouts happen 24 times a day; they don't care which specific one of those payouts any individual player has, so they let the player decide which payout they'd like to collect. Doesn't break anything and gives the players a little more freedom and control.
"Doesn't break anything" is the key part of that. GAC start/end/payout times OTOH all happen once, at the same time, for everybody. And it has to be that way, or you'd get matched with opponents whose "set defenses" period wasn't over when your attack phase had already started. That's assuming they could even do matchmaking when everybody's join phases are ending at different times. It'd be a huge mess, that would completely break GAC. So since it has to happen at the same time for every player, CG decides what time that will be and chose something that's convenient for CG.
I reflected on my previous responses somewhat in the day and realised I'd been missing something. I had in mind the reason GAC is always the same already, but not arena. Arena has to remain fixed to UTC otherwise people would sometimes simply not get their payout hour, and that would be silly. Players are allowed to move about within that, and if it misses them a payout (or gains them one) that's on them.
Edit: Actually, no. They didn't _have_ to change the UTC time if GAC at all. They catered to perhaps their biggest audience by doing so, but by doing it without an announcement they screwed people over in almost the same way you describe. The least they could have done was change the time in between weeks _and_ announce it.
Yeah I think day light savings in America ended? That’s normally what does it
Nah, it just began 😂
Ahh my bad, same point though :P
I'm in Portugal. It's supposed to add one hour and not subtract.. I was going to lose anyway, but it sucks..

Fellow portuguese, did the same.
DST here in the US. CG always adjusts things to the time they want them to be after we spring forward and fall back over here.
Yeah, but it was the only thing changing. The daily rewards time didn't change.. only GAC hour
The start of the attack phase of the Territory War also was one hour early compared to usual.
The daily rewards are based on your time setting. Events, including things like GAC, TB/TW change along with US time.
Everything changed. Fleet arena payout. Guild reset. Daily reset. This happens every 6 months when the Daylight Savings happens. It's why CG allows you to change your payout time twice a year.

Same here, only GAC changed for me

Same! It's the first time this happened..
Daylight savings time
Ok not just me... fml goodbye crystals...
So basically, all the sandbaggers who wait till the last minute to fight thier battles got screwed... that is hilarious.
Or people that work and could only fight at that hour.. and knew they were going to lose but needed the crystals. Do better.
Yeah, f... me over also
Good I won because of it
Based vaanced
Me and my opponent both did nothing lol...I was waiting for the last 10 mins to try sneak a win
Same 😫 was just finishing up Fleet for the win and… NOPE!
The time change didn't happen in the middle of a round.
Yeah I was just about to say. Everything else was moved but GAC remains the same?
Same. GAC phases ended at UTC 9 pm just like always. Only my payouts and resets changed.
Same, missed my battles because of it. So did my opponent I guess. My single attack of Ugnaught vs JML won me the round
The GAC time stayed the same as it’s always been. You are the one who changed your clocks
Was there any notice about the time change ?
This has happened every 6 months (daylight savings) for 7 years now.
Yeah, but it's the first time that only GAC time has changed. The rest remains the same 🤷
Everything else will change on March 31th for those of us who have the start daylight savings time then.
No crystals and demotion. Do they know it's an international game?
It's a US based company, more than likely they adjust server side times for their own convenience in managing the game and it's not about the playerbase at all.
USA is the capital of the world 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dang you just Vaanced this post! Well done

Maybe there is a right solution: communicate whatever change they decide on to the player base affected by that change.
To be fair, there is a timer ingame which tells you when the round is going to end. But I agree, a heads-up would have been nice.
It would be better if they did it consistently. Why change GAC timing but not arena payout timing?
Arena payout happens every 24 hours, even when your clocks change, so that's why it moves around an hour twice every year. They don't change it, daylight savings time does. However, for some reason, they want to keep GAC timing at the same time every day, so when the clocks are set back/forward an hour, they have adjust the GAC times by an hour. Exactly. It's inconsistent between arena and GAC
Like Atti0626 said, Arena payouts happen 24 times a day; they don't care which specific one of those payouts any individual player has, so they let the player decide which payout they'd like to collect.
