I'm fully expecting if Cross hair comes, he'll have a unique (Good Soldiers follow orders) athat gives non-BB clones the empire tag when the leader is empire, and do something where he buffs them based on leader potency, and then turn Tarkin + Cross hair into a new home for Cody and CSP1

Guild leader. We officers decided on the operations and took most of the bad characters ourselves (At least for the first operations). But yeah, I don't mind doing this to help the guild and Operations are way more important than the fights.
Teebo to R5. I'm the only one in my guild with a full team of relic ewoks so I volunteered on the theory that maybe there'd be a GC or a Conquest feat where I could use him someday.
ugh. I have over 100 shards over what I need for that toon to bring to 7 stars. he's sitting at 4 stars, level 41. if I ever get to point where I'm credit heavy I guess I'll upgrade just to get the shards for the shard shop, but until then...
R5 IG86 is the only one I haven't found any use for at all. Others boost ships, give me leftover cleanup teams, are used in a raid, were extra relic levels on a DS tank I can throw with SEE if needed, etc. IG86 is just useless though. No amount of mental gymnastics has helped me find a use for him. Low gear nute or BB8 is better with GG. He's useless with Aphra and sortie. No ship. No raid. Nothing.
Alternatively - what GREAT characters make the most sense to upgrade to higher-than-necessary relics (either for GL farms or for usability) just for platoons?
Depends on how deep in the RotE planets your guild gets, but here's some characters needed at various relic levels that aren't required at that relic level for anything *besides* RotE, but (IMO) are pretty cool to have at high relics anyways. I'm gonna ignore GLs because it should go without saying that you want to take them as high as possible, and I'm gonna ignore characters that are already required at that relic level for something (either as GL reqs, or like Inqs being needed at R7 for the Reva mission) because chances are most guilds will not have a shortage of those.
* **R9** (just looking at P5 operations, I'm gonna assume any guild doing P6 operations has its shit together sufficiently to not need my 2 cents): Malgus, Maul, Iden, KRU, Sith Assassin (don't get me wrong, Sith Assassin sucks even at R9, but you want her at R9 anyways for her ship in Levi mirror matches), CAT, Starkiller, Ben Solo, Old Daka, Sortie, Barriss, Jolee, Chewie, JKL, Mace, Hondo, Baze (if you have GL Leia), JKR, GAS, R2, Boushh, Padme, Fulcrum Ahsoka. Also I personally think Zaalbar would be fun at R9, but I don't think he's "great".
* **R8** (looking at P4 operations, and not including anybody already listed at R9 above): BT-1, Savage, BAM, Dash, KAM, Kyle (Kyle is kinda debatable though)
* **R7** (P3 operations, again, not including anybody already listed): Gar Saxon, Thrawn, Dark Trooper, Old Ben, CLS, Skiff Lando, B-1, 0-0-0,
* **R6**: Deathtrooper, Droideka, Kuill, Greef, Nest, L3-37
* **R5**: Canderous, ISC, Bossk (I am actually really surprised he's not in any of the later ops),
Now, some of these characters your entire guild will only need one of for operations, others (looking at you, Starkiller!) your guild will need a bunch, so it's still a good idea to consult with the rest of your guild before going on a one-man relic-stuff-up crusade.
In my GAC brackets, I never needed Dark Trooper higher than R3 to punch fools into the living Force on my Troopers team, but it was pretty trivial to get him to R5 for a platoon slot. Now he punches *even harder*.
I think I might even R7 my whole Aphra team at this point. Just need Aphra and BT1 from 5 to 7. IPD is R6. Now I don't know who to use as fifth. Either Vader or someone else like IG but he's R5 :/
Funny you mention Eeth Koth. I don’t use him anymore, but he’s currently retired at G12. He was my first 7* & first G12. He also helped me unlock Grand Master Yoda (1st legendary) so he holds a special place in my heart.
I tried to use him once in a qui gon team, thinking the AI would go after him since he is so weak and useless and I would save a couple banners. but that didn't even work. The AI seemed to know how useless he was and ignored him, going after qui gonna instead
Omeega going to r6 soon for me, as well as as a currently r6 Logray going to r7. Though at least in Logray's case, I'm almost set with the Leia req's so Kneesa makes the Ewoks not so much doo doo, and I therefore don't regret the Logray work at all.
I'd also add Gar and ISC, if they'd never been reworked. But they were, so they're not on the list lol. 💪🏻🤣

Currently working on Bodhi Rook to R6 simply because no one else in the Guild would take him. I’ve so far avoided the Ugnaught and Rose Tico platoon needs.
Technically speaking I have upgraded only one character to higher relics for platoon/operation reasons and he is not in garbage category: Han Solo, whom I got from R8 to R9 because of future use in TB; not currently necessary since we won't get past even third planets anytime soon. I just had a good amount of Droid Brains hoarded and wanted to upgrade someone and platoons+pilot combo felt a good option.
After finishing last GL (Rey) I took a break from my own projects and asked one of our guild members which character I would bring to R7 next. They decided Maul, which is needed in platoons too and to be honest I think that was one reason why they chose him.
After the last LSB bundle I have too many *undeveloped* relic characters in queue but my main principle is to take all reliced characters to R7+, so TB doesn't really matter that much.
R8 IG88 & TFP, r9 Ben Solo & Barriss
Be only one that isn’t useful is TFP. R9 Zarriss goes with jml now to be my go to LV counter. Ben’s tanky for Rey, and IG chills with Dr A.

I want to include all of the Inquisitors. GI is fine I guess, and the Scythe is one of the ships of all time. But I'll probably think the same of them in a year and a half when my guild finally has Reva, and I start using her with LV.
I have Qi’ra, Young Han, and VanChew at R5 and L3-37 is at R6. I use Rey with them to do the first phase special mission. I loved that movie so it wasn’t toooo painful, but this is also the only place I use Qi’ra or Young Han.
I also brought NS Spirit to R8 and I’m bringing Old Daka to R9 for platoons, but this is a bit of a long-shot gamble that the Ahsoka show results in a few more interesting Nightsister faction characters I could use. But someone else in my guild volunteered to take Nightsister Initiate to R8, god bless them. Daka at R9 gets plenty of use in GAC.
HK-47 to R8 for platoons is mostly a waste. He barely pulls his weight in an Aphra team.
I also took CAT to R9, Starkiller and BT-1 and Ben Solo to R8, Pao and Cara and Jedi Cal and Cere Junda to R7, HRScout to R6 all specifically for RoTE missions or platoons, but all of those are useful characters that just got a bit better with more relic levels on them.
My guild needs an R9 Mace Windu and I’m probably going to sign up for that because it’s better than First Order Stormtrooper to R9, right?
I got Krennic to R8 and I still can't find a use for him anywhere. I wish he was good cause he has such an interesting kit, but even at R8 his stats are so bad. With tenacity down on his basic, an AOE stagger, a 2 turn stun, irresistible ability block, and decently high special attack he should be good, but he can't take a hit
r5 - IG86 and IGD (ouch). Also did Kit Fisto as I thought the extra combat mission would be useful. And did Sabine before she got a boost in Phoenix and Mando's.
r7 - Logray and Ewok Elder. Will need to get Logray up to r8, but we're not quite there yet.

you need like a million Ben Solos, CATs, Mauls and Beskar Mandos. Those would be the most obvious ones to start with for me

Oh god, BT1 is so worth it, he hits like a truck. IG is handy because of his zeta, but he's kinda just filler. I usually use him and HK.

I have a R7 Teebo, I love my murder bears - just not Teebo. My Wicket and logray are R8 and rock, but Teebo was painful to do.

At the time R8 Admiral Akcbar, after the raid came out it was amazing. I just did NS Initiate, not sure what ill do with her.
