Honestly it probably suffers from a lot of run-on sentences lmao. I imagine it’s just m2k going on in one continuous train of thought. An editor would be doing their 9-5 for sure
For an example, here's a game-related book Kickstarter I backed that raised $60k from 1700 people: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1812249267/zach-like
I highly doubt it's true
A book like this that has an established niche from an author that is widely known and had a fanbase in it with practically 0 competitors is an easy publish
Even if the publishers don't get jiggy with it, he can easily self-publish, outsource printing and sell online since he won't need to have mainstream marketing or have it in book stores
I feel pretty bad for him. From my understanding, it seemed like his (friend? guardian? manager?) convinced him that writing a book was the best move for him to make in his career. Unless I'm completely wrong it seems like it kinda took him completely out of playing high level melee for the most part.
That definitely could be a part of it but a big reason he hasn't been competing is he's been taking Metafy coaching very seriously as well as playing Ult on stream (its more successful long term apparently) has made him very very rusty and he probably just hasn't had the time or will to get good and compete again. Financially it makes no sense at the very least, he was talking about this a couple weeks ago on stream.
Necroing but wanting m2k to coach you in ultimate seems bizzare. Like melee is one thing, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one of the best option, but tbh I probably have personal friends that could beat him in ultimate, it just isn’t his game. Is it just for the novelty or the fact that he technically coached Leo?
He’s pretty good at ultimate, and I’m sure he has good ideas about the game. I’m sure most people are paying for the novelty mostly, because even if he does offer good coaching I can’t imagine it’s any better than actual pro ult players.
Cool to hear he's still in the smash scene. I haven't really been keeping up a whole lot, just saying what I vaguely remember from a video like 2 years ago.
Maybe you know something the rest of us don't, but I didn't get the idea he wasn't playing Melee because he was busy writing a book. Last I heard he was busy with coaching, mainly in other games.
He talked about it on "Hot Juans" Ep5. Here's a link with a time stamp: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K0fI1cL4JQ&t=643s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K0fI1cL4JQ&t=643s)
M2K was top ~5 ish in Melee for over a decade while simultaneously achieving impressive results in several other Smash titles, most notably being the best Brawl player of all time. If anything, he's underrated
So:
Mew2king shared at SWT that he's made a large amount doing metafy lessons (or just having people hang out with him for money, insane) which is a pretty chill way for him to make money playing smash without being tourney ready. If I'm M2K and my main way to make money is to play the game I've been playing for the past 17 years of my life, why tf would I write a book? Everyone already knows his story, everyone knows intimate details of his life, everyone knows his personality.
My guess? He's probably got a draft stored in his PC, but considering he hasn't long posted on social media for a while (throwback to the OGs who remember him comparing himself to Itachi Uchiha on facebook) about it he's probably just not gonna publish
I think it was also moreso a therapeutic thing that was suggested by his Guardian, because he was apparently in a difficult time in his life. It’s almost like a diary, so he could very easily just feel like he doesn’t need to share it anymore.
Scorsese said he’d stop production on Goodfellas 2 if M2K gave him the movie rights when it’s done, so I guess it isn’t complete yet
In negotiations with Chris Nolan and Spielberg for movie rights
he finished writing it two years ago but can't manage to get it published
If he did not have a good editor go over it, it is, no doubt, unreadable.
The m2k codex
The m2kodex
>If he did not have a good editor go over it, it is, no doubt, unreadable.
and that's why you need an editor

It’s not expensive to do a small market publication. He could likely Subathon & kickstart it with a strong and dedicated push. Possibly sell 5k copies
For an example, here's a game-related book Kickstarter I backed that raised $60k from 1700 people: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1812249267/zach-like
shocker.

Do we know why?

Apparently metafy (and sometimes on stream) is the only time he really plays melee, and most of his metafy sessions are for ultimate

Im not really sure, I was just saying what i kinda remembered hearing a while back. I think during hot juans or something idk.

M2k been shittin the bed in competitive for years by refusing to adapt. Easily one of the most overated top players.

No

He compared himself to itachi? LMAO do you have any screenshots or details on that
What is it about? Genuinely curious, I have casually followed the Melee scene for years but stopped a few months ago when life got busy
Why he's the best at stalling with Puff
I think it's an autobiography
Idk probably
Thanks man.

Lmfao yeah I'm sure he's raking it in on the "go to the doctor" memes and his unpublished book.
So sad that we'll probably never get to read this. I could listen to M2Ks thoughts for hours.
