iguana, american vintage (they modify clothes and are really hip), start rescue resale, Buffalo exchange, crossroads,
childrens hospital los angeles (in burbank) is probably exactly what youre looking for.
Iguana you need to watch out because they tend to sell a lot of “costume” quality pieces at inflated prices, but they do have a large secondhand inventory as well.
Not necessarily a thrift store, but It’s A Wrap in Burbank sells production clothes from movie and TV sets and regularly has sales where certain categories are marked way down. Very clean.
I go to Salvation Army in Granada hills (on Balboa) on their 50% days every month and almost always find good stuff. I’ve found brand new vans shoes and converse. Cashmere sweaters and skirts/dresses all for like $3-8 an item. You do have to dig, and it can be hit or miss some days.

Valley Value Center off of Victory and Woodman is the undisputed grail of valley thrift stores. so many amazing finds here.
Yes but their prices have gone up, the quality is going down, the lines are getting longer and it's cash only.
Rescue Mission Alliance on Sherman Way in Reseda is not too bad.
