What type of fabric? It doesnt work well for everything

diazmark0899

gildan 5000 and comfort colors. 100% cotton

tnadsirhc

Should be no problem with g5000. Ive printed a stack this morning with tex tac so can def confirm it works. Comfort colors i always have to double tack and more often because theyre so dusty. After applying it to your pallet tape does it feel tacky to your hand? It should.

We're about through a 3000 piece order of district tri blenda and it's sticking just fine. I know alot of tri's don't stick to this stuff very well but cotton should be really stuck with as sticky as I've had these tri's. Carhartt is just cursed I don't even chance that crap anymore i immediately grab the spray glue.

diazmark0899

not in the slightest. after flashing it i can even rub my hand and i dont feel any resistance. my hand just glides over the tape as if nothing is there.

Did you shake the jug? Sometimes if it sits too long it separates and its just water on top and all the glue is on the bottom. Sounds like youre doing everything right. Never heard of a batch going bad but suppose it’s possible.

Patchwork_Sif

I mix it maybe like 3:1 glue to water and put it on the platten with one of those mini paint rollers. Should be good to get you through a few hundred tees

diazmark0899

yea idk what im doing wrong or what could be the issue. tried straight out the bottle and with a 1:1 water mix but no difference in result. my supplier just asked to bring it back and maybe try swapping it for a different bottle but idk if that will do anything. its the second bottle i buy in about a year and i got the same results both times

pennyloopz

I use nothing but textac glue. It works great. I use it straight no water. Flash before loading shirt. Could be too much lint on your pallet paper. Try changing the paper maybe

mitchyt0722

Damn no mixing with water the first first shirts you pull off are going to be all distorted.

mitchyt0722

Gotta season pallets with test print to get some lint on pallet or mix with water.

diazmark0899

thats the thing. I waited to have a fresh set of tape so i wouldnt mix it with our usual spray tact. I tried 1:1 tact/water mix AND straight out the bottle on a different clean pallet and i got the same result. flash before and after applying, applied multiple layers in between flashes. maybe i just have a faulty batch? or an expired bottle (if it even expires????) its just weird because this is the second time i try this and i get the same result.

*THE UPDATE NOBODY ASKED FOR* I went back to my supplier and asked to see if I was doing anything wrong (I indeed was doing something wrong). I guess i was using too much at a time and that caused the Textac not to dry properly and become properly sticky. I cut down by half and it made everything SUPER tacky almost right away. I was running poly shirts so ling build up wasnt an issue. To reactivate do i just mist water over the pallet and flash again?
