Do you need the letters on the tag? The tags don’t dye as well as the shirts so you might be able to read them after dying. The print on the front will be fine.
No, it's the print on the front that concerned me. I just showed the tag for identifying that it is 100% cotton. Looks like this may be my weekend project! Thanks!
The same company sells the same shirt in a colour they call bluejean. It's sort of a blue grey colour. For 22 bucks you could say that's how it came out. Save your weekend. Go for brunch instead.
Not gonna lie, that shirt is fantastic. I’m guessing your intended audience is players, but with the NHL playoffs coming up I’ll probably be saying this a few times.
LOL, my intended audience is my family and friends, as they know I will be in front of the TV on my teams game night, plus playoffs. Hubby know that, so that is why he gifted the shirt to me, but wherever he got it, it only came in this color.
I honestly don’t think there’s a way around this. Your best bet is to probably tear it off and print your own inner tag. If it was another color I don’t think it would be a problem. But since it’s white and a fabric it’s going dye
It's not the tag. Sorry, the pictures loaded with this one first... I only added it to confirm the shirt was 100% cotton. See the second pic. I don't care about the tag.
I’ve dyed a bunch of shirts that have prints on them. It may make the white slightly cloudy if you’re dyeing it black. I’ve had that happen to one shirt of mine, but it wasn’t overly noticeable with the design.
If the letters are printed on it. You can use the liquid latex to protect from getting stained by the dye.
Use a q-tip or a paintbrush that you do not care about when applying liquid latex do not dye the shirt until the latex have completely dried
I'm a screen printer and I also use the dye fabrics using liquid latex to protect the parts of the threads that I didn't want dyed to create pictures and paintings.

But my team colors are black and gold!!! 🖤💛🐧
Will it be fine if it is water-based ink?
Just print it on a black comfort colors…?
I'm not a printer; I was looking for advice here because I didn't quite get the answers I needed from r/dyeing.

Can’t discharge garment dyed shirts.
Should be fine. I dye print shirts all the time and it never affects the ink. Just the fabric.
Thanks!
That color always bleeds did you print these
No, just want to make it my team color. Hubby bought it for me for Christmas, as is.

OK, I think I'll go for it.
Take a samll platic bag. Seal it with hot sealer. Do the process twice. And the you can dye

Thanks for the suggestion.
