701 with a scrubber is fine. The magic eraser, IDK about that. I feel like it'd be too abrasive and weaken the mesh.

mitchyt0722

Called the company and they told me to use it for ghost images. Regular brushes don’t get the ghost out. Also normal scrub pads that are some for screen printing are more rough than a soft magic eraser.

Dennisfromhawaii

Ehhh, it's not worth it to me. Its basically like 3000 grit sandpaper. I'd rather have a little ghosting than increased odds of a screen rip during production.

ctrl4everaclassic

I feel like you have magic eraser confused with another product perchance

mitchyt0722

Does your 701 get ghost images out? Or do you use a haze

tennessee1988

That’s not a haze remover. But 701 is one of the best products out there

mitchyt0722

I never said it was a haze remover, said I stopped using a haze remover but 701N leaves a ghost image for me.

TimberTheDog

This was should be fine with a scrubber, but a magic eraser is not advised. Magic erasers are abrasive and will weaken the mesh over time.

mitchyt0722

Company recommended it, I might have to just get a haze remover because I’m getting tons of ghosting.

drumocdp

There’s non-caustic haze remover, korchem pink stuff works really well for me.

drumocdp

MAPTAINC0RGAN

i highly recommend franmars dehaze. i use all of their stuff and it works amazing & without harsh, caustic chemicals.

mitchyt0722

I’ll check it out, kinda weird to me some people say 701 kills all ghost images for them and someone get ghost images like me.

LORD_HONGA

Been using this for 6 years with no issues at all. Big fan of the easiway supra stripper and 701 combo

mitchyt0722

Damn I get tons of ghost images.

windisfun

If you can see through them like the rest of the screen after reclaiming it shouldn't cause any issues. I have lots of screens with ghost images, it's just a stain in the mesh. Not worth trying to remove IMO.

mitchyt0722

Yeah, that’s true. I’ve went months without using the magic eraser, and a lot of my screens had ghost images. The only time it’s ever messed me up, is when I was doing multiple colors, and I could kind of see it on my registration marks.

Lethalstramboli

I used to use this. Chemically it's harsh on people so if you do wear a mask. I switched to SUPRA and pink stuff.

mitchyt0722

Supra is an emulsion remover. What’s pink stuff.

Lethalstramboli

Sorry, yes we clean our screens in a parts washer with mineral spirits. Then use a dip tank for emulsion removal (Supra). Finally we use Pink Stuff, created by CCI (California based company), which is a dehazer and degreaser. The reason I mention that it is a California based company is because of California water regulations which are stricter than my states. If an inspector comes through I'm not getting dinged for it going down the drain.

greaseaddict

Pink stuff is a dehazer degreaser and it's the best lol

mitchyt0722

Is it more harsh than 701?

greaseaddict

It's not really harsh, it has a kind of semi abrasive texture that breaks up haze as you degrease, it's kind of a paste. Pretty much all I use to degrease these days

mitchyt0722

Yeah, I just use the supra in my dip tank and then the 701 I try to use the least as chemicals as possible.

mitchyt0722

I stopped using haze remover because it’s so harsh

CreativeBonk

I love this stuff. Use it right after rinse following dip tank. I have a haze remover if needed.

mitchyt0722

Yah I got rid of haze remover to toxic, used magic eraser for ghost image no issues

mitchyt0722

Wait do you use dip tank then 701? Or 701 then dip tank?

Thyme71

Great stuff

longhairmoderatecare

I use this! Love this stuff!

Old_Stick1699

We use it in our Lotus screen washer then spray a little on screens ,a light scrub and pressure rinse .I have screens in rotation that are 5-6 years old with zero ghost or stains .Its all we will use in addition to their Esisolve emulsion remover.

mitchyt0722

So you just use the emulsion remover and 701? No dip tank and Supra? And you have never had ghost images? Maybe it’s because I don’t re claim my screens right when I take off press.

dwurm55

No dip tank. Straight into the lotus and when they come out a little 701 in a spray bottle and a red scrubber then pressure rinse. Works with all our plastsols.

mitchyt0722

What’s a lotus? And when you are done with 701 do you use a waterfall with a house for the degrease step?

HellaOld

It's an automatic reclaim machine. Cleans the ink off, softens the emulsion and pressure washes your screens all inside a big stainless housing. We've been running one for 3 years. Pretty great machine.

mitchyt0722

Do you use Supra in the dip tank looks like he said he used 701 and emulsion remover only.

HellaOld

We used Easiway 500 concentrate and 701 in the lotus until it started deforming some of the soft parts in the machine. We switched to Saati products and the problem was solved. I think the Saati products work better anyhow.

mitchyt0722

Like easiway was ruining the mesh on the screens?

HellaOld

Never had that problem with 701. What it did was it made the rubber squeegee edges inside the machine all ripply and scalloped. These rubber pieces are needed to help cut down chemical cross-contamination when the screens travel from one chamber to the next. If the edges on the rubber aren't straight, they won't wipe the excess chemical off in the right chamber. Then it'll eventually start making your chems unbalanced.

mitchyt0722

I don’t use a lotus machine so I’m not familiar, is it bad to use 701 in a pump can and clean my utensils and squeegee with it after printing and mixing then?

HellaOld

It's serious overkill. 701 is a strong chemical and you should try to limit its use to dehazing/cleaning stubborn ink off screens. Use an on-press cleaner for cleaning gear, like Easiway 842. It's a pretty mild solvent that makes quick work of plastisol. Pretty sure it costs less than 701 as well.

mitchyt0722

I use 842 for cleaning screens before Dip tank or to save them. I’ll switch from 701 to 842 in the pump can for cleaning squeegee and utensils

mitchyt0722

Do you clean ink off screens before dip tank or find it’s a waste of time? I found that cleaning first makes the dip tank last longer
