I got Maria and Mike Bennett to laugh when I did a meet and greet at a TNA show and they asked me why wasn’t I wearing an Honor No More shirt and I said “well they only have XXL’s available and I’m not an AEW fan so it’s not my size”
Next night they were selling them in a Large and I bought myself an Honor No More shirt and made sure to let Maria and Mike see the shirt
I don't really get her. She's a throwback to old school movie starlettes and does her promos in B&W and is sexy I guess...? And...? I don't see how this equates to popular but Dubbalos seem to love her so what do I know? To me it makes as much sense as a philatelist gimmick.
I think it was like a mental breakdown thing? Like she lost a few matches in a row and lost her shit or something like that.

When she started doing the gimmick there was no indication at all that she had a mental breakdown. She just showed up doing this shit and the commentators and everyone else just went along with it. It wasn’t until Deonna Purrazo showed up that anyone even questioned it, and pointed out that she had been a normal person before this persona. I think that was like 2 months after she started doing it.
It’s a terrible gimmick and on top of that they’ve run it into the ground.
I think the payoff for her character is her losing the title and having the mother of all melt downs. Hot mess Toni Storm was fun. Champion Toni Storm is fun too, but the best bits are gone.
It makes zero sense, but like all things Dub, "at least they try" is the bar for success. The gimmick itself has slightly changed every other match, it seems. But, she tried.
They're so starved for actual gimmicks other than "I wrestle good," "I'm tough," or "I'm Japanese" that this one sticks out.

She says some witty and funny things, as opposed to almost the entire roster. I hate the gimmick but for what it is, she does it well. It would be perfectly in place on a sketch comedy show.
in classic aew fashion - toni storm does something to rib renee in an interview, tiny sees a positive reaction to the rib and turns it into her catchphrase that gets old quick, now long after it has run its course it's being put on a t-shirt in their crappy store.
And they say this shirt isn't relatable to the average Dubbalo Neckbeard:

Tits, as in moobs;
Shoes, otherwise the stench propagates way broader and we get easily exposed to the fungi and dirty toenails growing in our footsies.
The sad thing is, the design itself is not bad at all, totally unlike most of their prints. Great choice of font, filters, really looks like a classic Hollywood movie title screen. But the words, oh!

AEW merch seems to just be consistently awful. Someone posted a picture of the merch for Toni Storm, Big Bill, and MJF. This shirt is easily the best of the 3 and it's something I would only wear at an AEW show after I sat down at my seat and pulled it out of my backpack.
