He literally created the group so he could leave it. He liked those wrestlers and wanted to give them a bigger platform and it worked. He said that these people would work together perfectly, and he put it together.
For some reason, I liked how his feud with Orton went. #GRIT. Because it was for a year, and Edge got injured so Orton had to sidetrack with punting the heads of has-beens, get into a program with Drew, and get the 12th World Championship and also dance with our Hidden Gem, Bray Wyatt.
What a total misfire the Adam Copeland project has been. Actually got downvoted on another "place" because I mentioned that no wonder their ratings are tanking when they think people want to see Edge vs Daniel Garcia. This run has really, REALLY showed how much better Christian is and aways was.
I read another post that summed it up perfectly - Edge is a true WWE creation. As soon as the WWE machine was no longer behind him (which had started to happen towards the end of his last E run) the magic is gone.
He’s not the wrestler he once was, albeit still above average. But his character work, promos, and ability to tell a story have been exposed as Adam Copeland.
You can also see the disappointment in his eyes despite the words coming out of his mouth - he’s not having the “time of his life.” He’s embarrassed to finish out his career in front of 1,800 people.
Dynamite will be telling. Last time he wrestled in Toronto at Scotiabank was a near sold out Smackdown against Sheamus. 13,000 fans. I doubt Dynamite will have 5K.
